Chapter 237: Episode 86 Guarantee_2

He went back to the second floor and found that Soka was already up. She stood by the window, peering outside. Hearing Lynch’s footsteps, Soka turned around excitedly and said, "Brother Lynch, there’s a fight going on below. A white-skinned person is teaching those bad Dark Elves a lesson."

Without looking, the Mage already knew who Soka was talking about. He quickly rushed down, opened the door of the Black Crystal Tower, and stood outside the tower.

Sure enough, Zilvra was entangled in a fight with three Dark Elf Warriors, and further away, two corpses lay on the ground. Zilvra had already been wounded, one arm hung limp and bleeding, and her armor was cracked in several places. She looked out of breath, struggling under the siege.

  "Stop!" Lynch shouted.

At this moment, Zilvra noticed the Mage and shouted, "Careful, they have set an ambush for you too!"

Lynch suddenly realized, the Dark Elves, knowing Zilvra was here to find him, were still fighting outside the Black Crystal Tower. They must have prepared a way to deal with him. He pulled a scroll from his pocket and quickly unfolded it.

A large spiked net descended from the air. The net was silver, appearing to be woven from fine strands of Mithril. Clearly, the only reason for not using other metals was Mithril’s magical affinity. This net was definitely not simple, likely imbued with some magic-suppressing effects.

Lynch gave a crooked smile, knowing he would not escape through the sky. Though that was usually a first choice, it was also the most anticipated escape route. What he opened was a "Sol Stone Walking Skill," a unique spell of the Underdark, allowing spellcasters to move freely through the ground like a Stone-walking Monster.

The descending net caught only air, as Lynch had already burrowed underground, relocating to another position.

Dark Elves could float, Priests could fly, but they did not have the capability to strike underground creatures. Besides anything else, they lacked even basic X-ray vision, like the Eye of Insight. Lynch popped up like a gopher, casting a few spells, and then dove back underground before the assailants arrived.

Unable to find effective means to deal with the Mage, the Dark Elves immediately chose to retreat. Zilvra glanced at the Mage and followed him into the Black Crystal Tower.

The magical door closed behind them, leaving only a wall visible, which was the reason outsiders could not enter the tower. It was Zilvra’s first time here, and she curiously looked around.

"Zilvra, do you need some healing? There are quite a few healing potions here."

"No need." Zilvra tore a piece of clothing, simply bandaging the wound on her arm: "This little injury is not a big deal."

She thought for a moment, cautiously looking around: "Lynch," Zilvra lowered her voice, "there’s no one monitoring here, right? Is it safe to talk?"

Lynch extended his hand to the female Drow: "Take off the Family Emblem, that’s how Batana tracks you. It’s also the only possible surveillance means here."

Zilvra removed the Family Emblem from her waist, looked at it carefully twice, and placed it in Lynch’s hand. Suddenly, she took the emblem back.

"Mage, will you take me away from this Underdark? Can you really let me live safely on the surface?" Zilvra pointed at the emblem: "If this emblem is gone, I will become a true traitor to Ratris City. I... I will have nothing."

"So, I want your promise, your oath." Zilvra gave a bitter smile twice: "To be honest, we Dark Elves don’t believe in promises and oaths, they are things weaklings use to deceive others, illusions of delusion. But now, apart from trusting your promise, I have no other way. Ever since that time in Hanmosidun City, I knew I was no match for you, I am a weakling before you, a weakling in my family, just a weakling in all of Ratris City. Now, I can only believe in a weakling’s delusion, can only believe in your promise."
