Chapter 230: Episode 84 Anticipation

Soka looked up at Lynch, thought for a while, and finally nodded, leading him to climb up to the next level.

The third level of the Black Crystal Tower was still empty, except for a little bloodstain on the ground, there was no corpse as Soka had mentioned.

"It was here, how could it be missing?" The little angel looked around anxiously.

Lynch shielded the angel behind him, using the Eye of Insight to observe the surroundings. Finally confirming there were no hidden attackers in the room, he turned his gaze to the next level above.

Through the thick ceiling, on the fourth level of the Black Crystal Tower used for storage, there indeed lay a corpse. Lynch flew into the air for a closer observation. The corpse lying on the ground was none other than Aulos, the Dark Elf Mage who had welcomed Lynch upon his initial arrival at the tower. This young Dark Elf Mage was now thoroughly dead, with two sealed wounds on his back, and the bloodstains on his clothes had long since dried and hardened.

Soka did not have the ability to reach the fourth level of the Black Crystal Tower; the murder she witnessed must have happened on the empty third level. Therefore, the two who came with Aulos must have the capacity to open the fourth level themselves.

Lynch carefully observed the items in the storage room, and they were no different from his memory, as though nothing was missing. However, when the mage shifted his gaze to the giant metal sphere, he unexpectedly found that the sphere had completely solidified, no longer transitioning rhythmically between liquid and solid states.

Lynch still couldn’t understand the purpose of this metal sphere. He had never come across records of such an item. Yet, the fact that this metal sphere could be placed in such an important location indeed indicated its significance.

It seems, until the barrier above is unlocked, Lynch would not be able to obtain detailed information. He descended and used the spell "Magic Trick" to clean the bloodstains on the ground before flying back down a level with Soka.

The mage buried himself in scrolls and tomes again; time was running short.

Meanwhile, Felps hurriedly fled with Nimo, undisturbed by the exploding sounds behind them. Little Finger was very familiar with the environment here and quickly led the dwarf to a relatively safe underground sewer.

"Nimo, we’re safe here; the Dark Elves won’t come," Felps said.

"What should we do next?" Nimo looked at the complex sewers, unable to discern direction, let alone know the paths here.

"Let’s first return to our hiding place, then we’ll discuss the actions for the next few days."

The two small figures quickly moved through the passageway, startling only a few mice, which squeaked and hid away. Despite each path looking the same, Little Finger knew his way around and could find the correct direction. After a while, their footsteps slowed as they made sure no one was following them, the two little ones slipped into a crevice of the sewers.

With effort, they moved a movable brick on the wall, opening a secret door. In the room, Deluo, Stoneleg, and other members of the adventure team were hiding.

"Was today’s mission successful?" Deluo asked, recognizing the two who entered, while putting down his weapon: "Did you see Lynch?"

"Yes, it went very well," Little Finger Felps said: "I think Lynch seems even more formidable than before. Now, in his presence, I’m even more wretched. He used to always control me, and I was already at a loss with him. Now, the gap is even wider."

"Weren’t you just reminiscing about the times with Lynch a while ago? How come you’re already worried again?" Deluo chuckled, teasing the halfling.

"No, no." Felps waved his hand. "Even though I was under his control, as long as I was with him, my actions always went smoothly, and the treasures in my bag increased, seeing things I ordinarily wouldn’t. By the way, where is my bag now?"
