Chapter 222: Episode 81 - Step 2
The only problematic aspect was the blood. While there was plenty of blood on the ground, enough to barely pass, the blood within these corpses dried up too quickly. Lynch’s "Creation Law" scroll could only act on non-living objects; making something like a Soul Demon Statue, a semi-living entity, was beyond its capabilities, let alone things like fresh blood and living limbs. After all, the power of life resides in the hands of the deities, and priests are more adept at handling these situations. The fact that ancient Great Arcanists were able to create golems by transferring souls was already a formidable power.
According to the "Arcane Secret Scroll" in Lynch’s possession, the third Chapter of the five-Chapter scroll is "High-level Creation," which includes records on the creation of living beings and golems. If this scroll could be found, not only could one possess stronger transformation and repair abilities in the future, but it might also unlock all the secrets of this Refined Gold Magic Statue’s prosthetic limb.
Lynch recalled the scene he saw through the Prophetic God Staff, imprinting it once more into his mind. He then shook his head: "I didn’t expect it to be placed in that location. Even though I can enter Dark Elf City and find what I’m looking for, to place it in that particular place, how am I supposed to speak of it?"
The sounds of battle outside the door gradually diminished, and Lynch simply leaned against the remnants of a pillar, pretending to be in a state of exhaustion.
With a massive explosion, the door to the Audience Room was blown to pieces. Simultaneously, a bright flash suddenly appeared in the chaotic hall, lighting up the room as if it were daylight. Fortunately, Lynch’s Eye of Insight was unaffected by such intense light, otherwise, even if he were not a Dark Elf, he would have been dazzled by the sudden illumination.
Weaknesses are meant to be attacked. The Dark Elves would not waste such a clear opportunity for combat, and the remaining warriors of the first family immediately rushed in, swiftly seizing key attack points.
However, in this room, only the first family’s people were alive—assuming Lynch’s identity as an adviser mage still held—Batana looked surprised at the circle of fallen Drow female corpses; they were the second family’s "former" priests, and then the Matron glanced at Lynch, who was resting against the pillar.
"What’s going on? I don’t believe that a male like you can fight against so many elite Drow! Speak! What exactly happened?" Matron Batana shouted loudly. The unexpected victory excited her, but such simplicity raised her suspicions.
"Damn! I considered everything except how to fabricate a method of defeating these priests." — Lynch’s brain was working quickly, formulating a strategy — "If it were Briza, how would she originally conceal the deaths of these priests? There was no foreign mage interference in her plan!"
Lynch immediately thought of an unusual action by Briza, which was the destruction of the Spider Goddess statue. As a Dark Elf, and even as a Matron of a family, such an action was simply heretical. No! More than that, it was akin to a death wish. The only explanation was that the Spider Goddess had allowed Matron Briza to destroy this statue as a crucial part of her plan to swallow the first family.
With this in mind, Lynch knew how to explain it.
Pretending to be weary, Lynch spoke in a fluent tone—this was a deliberate disguise to confuse Batana, making her question the mage’s current state. Sometimes, feigning mystery is more effective than meticulous deception. "Respected Matron Batana, I circled in from below this room and saw these damned Drow praying in front of the Spider Goddess statue. I intended to ambush them, but then something strange happened." Lynch paused and continued: "The Goddess statue suddenly cracked, and a powerful light and shockwave spread instantly, killing most of the female priests at that moment. Just as you Dark Elves often curse, ’May the light consume you!’, they lost most of their combat ability in such a manner."
Lynch pointed to the thoroughly wrecked room: "Then I had a skirmish with a few priests; their Matron died at the start, leaving them with no command, so I killed a few. That concluded the battle." The mage believed that for Batana, who initiated this war under the guidance of the Goddess, by attributing all victory factors to the Spider Goddess, all questions would find perfect answers.
