After Vizren, the old Mage, finished speaking, he fell into silence. He sat quietly in the chair, merging into that patch of darkness. It was as if he had disappeared from the room entirely, and even the air around him felt completely still.

Lynch watched the old Mage. Although the darkness would not obstruct his vision, Lynch could never see into a person’s heart. Indeed, while the young Mage could observe one’s heart rate changes through X-ray vision to infer their emotional fluctuations, the heart of this Dark Elf before him remained stable and strong.

Perhaps the words he spoke were merely a retelling of facts. Regardless of what they might ultimately become, it bore no impact on him, and such a transcendent feeling naturally stirred no change in emotion.

"Thank you for telling me those words. Even though they are as vague as all prophecies usually are, I still must thank you," Lynch bowed slightly to him, "In Ratris City, we have some matters to attend to. Thus, we should be leaving the Duel Arena now; it seems time to bid you farewell."

"Young people are always in such a hurry, but in doing so, they show their vigor." Vizren stood up, waved his left hand lightly, and the box door opened by itself: "By the way, Lynch, I must tell you one last thing, I do not wish for you to go to the Black Crystal Tower; it would not be to your advantage..."

Lynch looked at the Drow Mage, though inwardly surprised, unsure of how he knew his purpose for this journey, Lynch attempted to keep his face devoid of any emotional fluctuation, his eyes fixed on the door of the room—he avoided looking into Vizren’s eyes to prevent revealing thoughts from his mind.

"Hmm, those who choose to use silence to hide their answers often act as you do, Mage Lynch," Vizren continued, "For a Mage from the surface to endure untold hardships to come underground, could it be to become a slave to the Dark Elves? Or perhaps to be some matron’s bed toy? Just by simply thinking of the famous landmarks in Ratris City, or recalling tales of the Dark Elves that even the surface might hear of, it becomes easy to guess your intention for this trip."

"So, when you smartly assume others are unaware, you are in fact showcasing your stupidity. Of course, the Black Crystal Tower is not mine, nor do I have anything valuable inside it—even if it were valuable, it would hold no meaning to a dying man like me. I won’t stop you from entering that Black Crystal Tower, but nor will I stop my students from stopping you. Just take all I’ve said as a breeze passing by, letting it disappear forever."

Having said this, Vizren truly vanished into thin air like a gentle breeze.

Nimo quickly followed Lynch out of the room, while Deluo walked alongside, frowning, trying hard to make sense of the events of the past few days and considering his own actions carefully.

Once outside the Duel Arena’s gates, it was already night in the Underdark. Outside, within the caves, one could identify night from "day" based on the variations in creature numbers and activity frequencies. But in Ratris City, without an artificial day-night cycle, it was almost impossible to distinguish those subtle changes.

The only way for everyone to know the time was the massive Flash Gold Stone atop the Black Crystal Tower.

It was previously mentioned that this secretively crafted artifact by the Dwarves could produce Crystal Stones that change color over time, indicating the approximate time to its possessor. On the Black Crystal Tower, such a stone existed. The difference being, this one was significantly large, visible from almost every corner of the city.

This was also the brightest spot in the Dark Elf City. The intensity of the light it emitted pushed the tolerance limit of the Drow towards light.

Back at the "Tavern" inn, Lynch went directly upstairs to his room, while Deluo pulled Nimo into the small bar area on the first floor, chatting with the owner who had stone legs. According to him, building a good relationship with the innkeeper could get them a discount on drinks—an idea whose source he couldn’t recall. Meanwhile, Nimo was waiting for their negotiation on the "discount" to finish so he could stock up on lizard feed.
