Chapter 101: 31 episodes Sisters
"Damn brat!" Deluo pulled out the Double-headed Sword from his back, "I am going to teach her a lesson!"
"Wait!" Lynch stopped the warrior’s action. He took out the emblem found at the scene of the little angel’s disappearance from his sleeve and noticed that both were exactly the same.
"What are you doing? Why are you stopping me? She’s no match for me!" Deluo shouted angrily at Lynch.
Nimo jumped down from the lizard and also came to the mage’s side: "Deluo, don’t be impulsive. Lynch must have his reasons for doing this."
Lynch looked at the warrior who was gradually calming down and threw the two emblems into his hand: "Look, one was just given to us by her, the other was found at the place where the angel disappeared. Now do you understand why it’s not the time to teach her a lesson?"
"Could it be that she is the one who kidnapped the angel? Or are they in cahoots? Wouldn’t that mean we should catch her and question her harshly?" Deluo rolled up his sleeves, ready to chase after Zilvra.
"Don’t be impulsive, you need to think carefully. Precisely because of this emblem, their first family wouldn’t be the ones who kidnapped Angel Soka. Dark Elves are all good at disguising; do you think they would leave such an obvious clue for others to find?"
"Yes, you’re right. That Zilvra is skilled at acting, indeed. So does this mean someone wants to frame their family? Shouldn’t we then go find their enemies?" Deluo re-sheathed the Double-headed Sword back into its scabbard on his back.
"I don’t think it’s that simple. Dark Elves wouldn’t be foolish enough to not see through such a simple framing tactic..."
"So is there a third group trying to make both sides suffer so they can benefit?" Deluo thought for a moment and said.
"If you can think of it, do you think those Dark Elves wouldn’t? Things are not that simple." Lynch rubbed his temples, feeling that the situation was becoming more complicated ever since he discovered that it was possible the first family was being framed.
"All right, all right, I won’t think about it... It’s really a waste of brain power. Just tell me what to do, and I’ll do it; that way, I can avoid the hassle. Such tiring things are best left to you mages. I’ll just be responsible for splitting the enemies in front of me in two to solve the problem."
"I knew you’d say that, but for now, we should find a place to stay, then deal with the goods behind us. Also, get rid of any useless jewelry from the tower." Lynch led his lizard slowly forward.
"Oh, then I’ll ask Riel if there’s a good inn here." Nimo quickly ran towards the Halfling caravan.
Zilvra entered the city not long ago and returned to the residence of the first family. This was an estate adjacent to the Black Crystal Tower, or rather, a solid battle fortress. The entire family was securely protected by Refined Gold railings, not only patrolled by soldiers riding battle lizards but also with sharp eyes always watching from hidden corners.
As the first family, though glamorous, they also faced significant threats. Every Dark Elf behind them wanted to surpass them. Weakening the first family could trigger a disturbance in Ratris City, providing small nobles and top-ranking families opportunities to fish in troubled waters. The only thing to beware of was the dagger that might stab from the back—everyone wanted to be the ultimate winner, and no one could guarantee whether their fate would end up as the muddy water or the fish.
Zilvra swaggered into the family’s gate, using Levitation Skill to float slowly to the noble quarters on the second floor. The patrolling soldiers looked at the floating female Drow and bowed their heads respectfully. But once she floated into the main building, she spat on the glowing moss-covered ground.
Zilvra walked on the soft animal skin carpet, the comfortable texture easing the fatigue in her feet. She originally thought Lynch would quickly reach Dalatris City, but it took him nearly a month to leave the Gray Dwarfs. She had to live in that Petrified Lizard habitat for such a long time. Fortunately, her skills were decent, or she’d have died there. Over a month had almost exhausted her.
However, Zilvra admired anyone who could defeat her head-on, especially Lynch, who was a mage, making her plan more likely to succeed. But Lynch’s caution and magic were as formidable as each other; she should avoid seeking him out easily. Indeed, she must find a way to coerce him into completing several arduous tasks. If he died, it would show he was of no actual use and could be discarded; if he finished, then it would improve his abilities for her service. If he couldn’t finish and sought her help, she could control him, making him her puppet. Even if he refused the task, she could use her family’s power to force him to comply.
