Madam, Please Behave -
Chapter 367: Craving It
February 8th.
“Hubby~ Hubby!”
Liu Changqing, who was sitting in front of the computer wearing headphones, only noticed An Yuanyao calling out after a few tries.
He quickly took off the headphones and turned to Liu Zhiyue, who was lying on the bed.
“Zhiyue, come do this Berserker awakening quest.”
“Changqing!”
Before he could finish speaking, An Yuanyao’s voice came from outside the room again. Liu Changqing didn’t have time to think, so he shouted toward the bedroom.
“Coming, coming!”
And muttered to himself under his breath—
“Why’s she up so early today…”A light complaint, but despite his words, Liu Changqing still happily trotted toward the bedroom.
After all… she was carrying two tiny hostages in her belly.
Holding the emperor to command the princes.
Liu Zhiyue, still lying on the bed reading, watched his father’s back as he walked out. Then he casually placed the book on his nightstand and climbed down from the bed.
When they moved from the old house to this new place, his dad had set up the computer in his room.
First, because he was old enough to have his own computer—so when he ran into difficult questions during study, he could search for answers himself.
Second, since Mom was pregnant, they didn’t want the computer in the bedroom for fear of radiation affecting the baby.
Third, Dad had recently gotten into a game called Dungeon Fighter Online. If the computer were in the bedroom, he’d definitely get scolded by An Yuanyao.
But with it in Zhiyue’s room, once Mom fell asleep, Dad could sneak in to play and relax a bit.
And as soon as Dad made that decision, his little sister started pestering for a computer in her room too.
Naturally, Dad turned her down without hesitation.
No surprise there.
Given what Liu Zhiyue knew about his sister, if she had her own computer, she’d definitely develop internet addiction.
After all… his sister had zero willpower.
Sitting at the computer, Liu Zhiyue stared at the character standing in town. He pressed ESC to pull up the menu, checked the key bindings, and once he got the basics down, opened the map and followed the quest marker into the dungeon for the awakening quest.
Clacking on the keyboard, he focused hard, but his inexperience showed. His character kept taking hits, and the health bar dropped rapidly.
Until the character screamed and collapsed on-screen.
A prompt popped up asking if he wanted to use a resurrection coin.
Originally, Liu Zhiyue had been playing a little half-heartedly. But when his character died, he didn’t hit the revive button.
That dismissive glint in his eyes disappeared.
Instead—he looked intrigued.
“This is actually kinda fun…”
He murmured quietly and clicked Return to Town.
Once back in the town hub, his character entered a weakened state.
Taking advantage of the recovery time, Liu Zhiyue opened a browser and started researching the dungeon’s monster mechanics.
In the bedroom next door—
Liu Changqing entered and saw An Yuanyao, who had just woken from her nap. He quickly walked to the bedside and asked gently:
“What’s wrong?”
“Hubby…”
She muttered, then added, “I want strawberries.”
“……”
Liu Changqing’s smile froze on his face.
Where the h*ll was he supposed to find strawberries in this freezing weather?
Strawberries usually hit the market as early as December and taper off by September. But it was only February…
He really didn’t want to go out.
It was freezing.
He hesitated for a moment, then forced a smile and offered a compromise.
“Let’s skip the strawberries—they’re too sour. Have some oranges or apples. We’ve got those at home. I’ll get you one.”
Propped against the headboard, An Yuanyao tilted her head and looked at him.
The moment she heard that, she was visibly displeased.
Pregnant women often get sudden cravings.
Liu Changqing knew this very well…
Like the other night.
It was around 2 or 3 a.m. when she shook him awake out of a deep sleep.
He’d jolted up, thinking something was seriously wrong—her expression looked painful. He was scared half to death.
But then, she said—
She wanted sweet and sour pork.
He had no choice.
Liu Changqing had been full of silent despair at that moment.
But what could he do?
If his wife wanted to eat something, could he really say no?
And besides, she barely ate much to begin with. If she had an appetite for a midnight snack, he should be happy!
So he got up and cooked sweet and sour pork.
By the time he finished and she finally ate it…
She only had a couple of bites and was done.
She barely touched the steamed rice, just picked at it.
Naturally, Liu Changqing ended up finishing the rest.
Which meant the next day, he had to work out an extra half hour to burn it off.
It was all tears…
And now—same scenario.
He didn’t know why she suddenly craved strawberries after a nap, but he was certain she wouldn’t eat more than a few once he brought them back.
It was an old habit returning!
With that thought, Liu Changqing looked at her slightly sulky face and tried reasoning with her.
“Look, apples have vitamin C—they’re good for you. What’s so great about strawberries? So many seeds. Eat too many and you’ll get diarrhea. If you get diarrhea, the baby suffers too. Not worth it, right?”
“……”
Her response: complete silence.
Then, like a sulking kid, she turned her head away and refused to look at him.
Seeing this, Liu Changqing paused, then reached out to poke her arm—but she flinched away.
Clearly didn’t want to be touched.
“What’s wrong? You mad now?”
“……”
“My wife~ my lovely wife~”
“……”
“Yaoyao~”
“I want strawberries.”
She said it softly. And then fell completely silent.
Hearing that, Liu Changqing knew there was no room for negotiation.
He let out a heavy sigh.
Sometimes… a man has to know when to surrender.
“I’ll go buy them.”
“Yay!”
Just moments ago, she didn’t even want to look at him. Now, she instantly lit up.
She turned back toward him, grabbed his hand, and gave him a big kiss right on the cheek.
Smooch!
It was loud—and clearly intentional.
“Thank you, hubby! Go quick! Pick the good ones—the big ones! Make sure they’re bright red too!”
“Yeah, yeah…”
“Mhm! Be careful on the road!”
Even though he was grumbling on the inside, Liu Changqing still left the room, pulled on the heavy coat from the rack, and prepared to head out.
Just then, he heard the sound of the TV.
He paused before opening the door and looked over at his daughter, who was watching TV since the dance studio had the day off.
After a moment of thought—
He snapped at her in a stern tone.
“Did you finish your winter break homework? All you do is watch TV at home!”
“……”
Innocent bystander Liu Xiaozhi stared wide-eyed at her dad.
Then, realizing what he said, she quickly grabbed the remote, turned off the TV, and bolted into her brother’s room.
SLAM.
The door slammed shut behind her.
Only then did Liu Changqing feel slightly better.
He didn’t dwell on it, pulled open the front door, and left.
To buy strawberries…
For his pregnant wife.
