"Ohh... so you want to make this a real battle?" Ethan smirked. "And what happens if I refuse? Will you injure me? Kill me? Lock me up or send me away? You can only pick one."

The guards and the female mage had already stepped far back.

The two of them stood alone now—outside her training hall, surrounded only by grass and ornamental decorations. No other buildings or distractions.

"Why would I want to kill you?" the Queen replied, tilting her head. "I could injure you. Or force you to fight in... other ways. You must think less of me, the way you’re talking—but honestly, I like it."

"You like it, because no one self can speak to you casually, and you know what... let’s fight, of you hold back against me I’ll know, and I’ll hold back too" Ethan spoke.

The Queen raised a brow. "What makes you think I wouldn’t hold back? This isn’t a spatial room. Anything I do here could cause real damage."

"You do think you can injure me, let’s give a rule to declare the winner" Ethan said.

"First person to forfeit loses" The Queen spoke.

Ethan and the Queen stood still, just a few feet apart.

Ethan rolled his shoulders, his sword already in hand as he opened his storage ring.

The Queen raised hers, a thin mist gathering around her feet, she wasn’t in her domain anymore but she was still stronger than Ethan.

"Ready?" she asked.

Ethan smirked. "Always."

Then both of them moved.

Ethan charged in first, closing the gap in seconds. The Queen sidestepped and swung her blade low, Ethan blocked, sparks flying on contact but something else happened.

Her icy sword broke on contact with Ethan sword.

Without wasting a moment he twisted his body, slashing upward, but she leaned back, the tip of his sword grazing the fabric of her dress just stopping below her chest, now Ethan could see her stomach.

The Queen summoned a gust of wind to push him back, but he dug his feet into the ground infusing Mana and lunged through it.

The Queen created another sword and immediately their swords clashed again, fast and sharp, each strike filled with purpose but held back just enough to avoid serious injury and this time Ethan blade didn’t break hers.

He was holding back again.

Ice formed beneath Ethan’s feet—he slipped slightly, but used the momentum to spin, duck under a swing, and try a sweep of his own.

The Queen jumped, avoiding it, and flicked her hand—tiny ice needles flew at Ethan, but he countered with a burst of flame from his palm [Fireball], melting them in midair.

"Not bad," she said, breathing a little heavier.

"Not bad, but when does the fight starts, I’m starting to get..." Ethan stopped as a mischievous smile formed on the Queen faced.

"Crucifixion" the Queen shouted stretching her hands forward and the next moment Ethan felt himself going upwards.

The moment the Queen shouted, "Crucifixion!", the air turned cold.

Behind Ethan, ice began to form out of nothing—shaping itself into a large, sharp-edged cross.

Before he could react, icy chains shot out from the cross and wrapped around his arms and legs, pulling him backward.

His back slammed against the freezing surface.

Then, ice spread fast—wrapping around his body like a second skin. In seconds, everything from his neck down was completely frozen, locked against the giant ice cross. Only his face remained exposed, his breath fogging in the cold.

The Queen stepped forward slowly, her sword disappearing into mist. "You said not to hold back," she said with a smile.

"This is interesting"

"I’m sure you must have faced ice users in the academy, or Isabella...but you haven’t faced someone who have mastered it, have you seen me turn water into ice?"

"That’s right, I haven’t but that’s what Isabella does"

"That’s because she haven’t grasped it, I don’t need water to create ice, I just freeze the air itself, also don’t try to use flames, you’re just going to..."

[Lightning Cloak]

The ice on his body shattered immediately as lightning ran through it, in an instant his body was covered in lightning shattering both the ice around him and the cross behind him all at once.

The Queen jumped backwards for safety but before her feet could touch the ground Ethan was already on the attack, his sword was on the ground but he didn’t bother to pick it up.

[Lightning Spear]

A spear formed in Ethan’s hand and he hurled it towards the Queen, an ice wall formed in front of her but still she jumped sideways as the spear penetrated the ice wall hitting the training building behind her.

"It seems you’re serious" the Queen spoke as a smile formed on her face but when she looked at Ethan face nothing was there, he kept an expressionless face.

[Dark Bind]

The Queen spotted the binds sprouting from the ground but it was already too late as one of the bind held onto her Ethan and in an instant Ethan vanished from her sight.

[Static Surge]

With his spell coupled with the mana he infused Ethan moved at vanishing speed appearing behind the Queen.

He wasn’t with a sword and he didn’t cast any speed instead he just threw a punch straight to the Queen face.

Ethan’s fist connected with the Queen’s cheek, a clean hit that sent her skidding across the grassy floor, stopping only after digging her blade into the ground to slow herself.

There were Royal knights all around watching and at that moment they wanted to attack but the Queen stood up with a smile on her face.

She wiped a small trail of blood from the corner of her lip and looked up—Ethan was already walking toward her, calm and silent, lightning crackling off his skin like a second aura.

He didn’t run. He didn’t rush. He walked—like he was in control of everything now.

"I noticed something just now... I’m pretty powerful" Ethan spoke.
