"Oh no, Edith already finished, that means the race isn’t what the instructors told us, I won’t catch up with him, how come he can suddenly run so fast, and the other girls would already be close to the finish line, if he enters the forest then it’s over.

"I have to do something, then I’ll cast it, I’m sure he has no spell strong enough to break through it, I’ll cast it before he gets to the forest" Crystal stopped as she placed her hands on the ground.

"From Earth’s core to skies above, oh mighty Earth, weave a wall barrier, Large Mud Wall" Crystal shouted.

Ethan turned around to see Crystal casting a spell and immediately the ground began to vibrate, he stopped thinking it was an attack spell but then he turned around.

The forest in front of him had been covered by a large wall, large enough to block the entire forest and he was sure it was strong enough so none of his spells would be able to break through but Ethan continued running towards the walls anyway.

"Yes, I did it, covered the entire forest, this is so far my greatest construction" Crystal muttered as she stood up and staggered backward before falling on her knees.

The spell itself was impressive but the sheer scale of it was certainly not what a student trying out for the academy could achieve meaning she was really powerful.

Even though she couldn’t move as her Mana was drained and her stamina depleted, she still had a smile on her face as she knew Ethan wouldn’t be able to fly past the wall or burrow a hole into the wall.

"Three students passed, one more slot left" the voice announced.

But it all changed when Ethan arrived at the wall, without wasting time trying to cast a spell he opened his storage ring and brought out his scale breaker.

According to Hal, nothing could stop this sword, as long as the user was powerful enough the sword could penetrate any and everything in this world, and Ethan was strong enough to break a stone.

Ethan swung the sword with all his strength and the sword passed through the stone like it was passing through water and made a clean cut.

But the stone wasn’t thin enough so Ethan had to slash continuously till he formed a hole big enough for a human to pass through and he passed through the wall.

Crystal could only look with her eyes widened as Ethan easily passed through her wall without casting a single spell, that was the push she needed to give up as she fell to the ground.

"One student eliminated, test over"

As soon as the voice spoke Ethan stopped in front of the forest, since he was the last student here he passed by default, soon a portal appeared in front of him and he walked through and appeared back in the academy.

All the other tests were over leaving only one, the students that passed were in the academy while the students that failed had been escorted out of the academy, and some that were injured were taken to heal.

The last portal opened and three students ran out of the portal, Freya, Maria, and Mabel exited the portal and the other students all turned towards them.

Edith was already out and waiting and after a few seconds, a figure materialized outside of the portal and it was Crystal who was taken in by mages.

"Crystal was defeated!" Mabel asked in shock and after some seconds Ethan walked out of the portal, part of his clothes were torn off so he removed the rest of it before walking through the portal and he appeared in front of all the students and Freya’s sister.

All the eyes there were glued to Ethan’s body, even some of the instructors were staring at him, some of them were surprised he passed and some of them didn’t care, all they were looking at was his body.

His increase in strength was slightly visible, even Ethan knew he was more muscular than before.

"Good, now that all of you are here gather around, and bring someone to cover his body" Freya’s sister shouted as the girls were still staring at him.

"The test is over and 80 students passed the test, there are only 77 students here so the other two are currently receiving treatment because I’ve evaluated their potential and it’ll be a waste to let them go, and the last student would arrive in two days"

The students could only mumble amongst themselves, the instructor didn’t tell them she was going to evaluate their abilities, if they were told most of them would have gone overboard and probably lost when they should have won.

Ethan wasn’t concerned since he actually won, though this test made it clear he was still behind in terms of firepower, he didn’t have enough attacking spells to do real damage and he couldn’t continue relying on his sword.

’Maybe I’ll buy the lightning attribute’ Ethan muttered inwardly.

All the students stood there waiting but the instructors stood there as if waiting for someone and then Selena and Maria walked in front of the students.

Selena stood with a smile on her face as she looked at Ethan who she watched as he passed the test, even she was surprised thinking Ethan was probably going to stop but he cut right through the stone.

When both of them trained she knew the sword wasn’t ordinary but she didn’t know what was special about the sword.

Freya’s sister wasn’t good at giving speeches so she was going to leave Maria to do all the speeches and introductions.

After a while, Maria was done and all the students were heading home, the students were given a day break to head home after the test to rest and tell their parents the good news.

Usually, all the students were required to stay at the dorms immediately but Maria let them go for the day after every one of them stepped forward and registered their Mana into a Mana stone.

Since there Mana were registered they would be able to enter the academy without a permit and roam about, only certain places were out of reach.
