Love Command: Darling, Do You Yield? -
Chapter 25 - 26: Do You Like Me? Brandan
Chapter 25: Chapter 26: Do You Like Me? Brandan
She just kept crying, and continuously whispering that she liked him.
Every declaration of love from her stirred a subtle feeling of restlessness in Brandan’s heart.
He couldn’t understand why Iris Harris liked him so much.
Ever since returning from the United States nine years ago, Iris had been trailing behind him. No matter how many times he rejected her, she stubbornly followed him, persistently telling him that she loved him.
Clearly a cold person, yet only towards him did she show such unusual passion.
Is there such a thing as love without reason in this world?
Brandan didn’t believe that he had anything in him that would make a woman like Iris give him her heart and soul. Over the years, he hadn’t even given her a kind look.
He wants to ask her what it was about him that was worthy of her love, worthy of her making such sacrifices, worthy of her wanting to marry him unconditionally.
Maybe it was this very doubt that prevented him from ever warming up to Iris...
Her emotions always gave him a feeling of unreality...
Brandan’s heart was slightly moved, and he subconsciously glanced at Iris. Her hair was loose, her face covered in tears and sweat, making her look fragile and pitiable.
After he left, she immediately pulled the blanket over, covering her battered body.
Though wrapped in a blanket, the bruises and marks on her neck were especially noticeable.
"Brandan..."
Iris, with her eyes closed, gently asked, "Do you like Viola Harris?"
Brandan, dressed, was slightly taken aback at Iris’s words.
Did he like Viola?
"Of course."
That person once became physically disabled while saving him. She may never have children.
A woman, because of him, might never be able to have children.
How could he not love her?
"Then what about us now..." Iris laughed softly, with a hint of bitterness, "What is this?"
"Viola’s health is poor," Brandan looked at her, "and besides, don’t you like me?"
Don’t you like me?
Listening to Brandan, Iris bit her lip gently.
Yes...
All the torment he inflicted on her, was it all just because of that one sentence?
It’s just because she likes him.
Because she likes him, any harm done to her becomes justifiable.
But why does her heart hurt so much?
Is harm in the name of love really justifiable?
Viola’s health is poor...
Iris thought in her heart, who exactly is the one in poor health?
If one day he finds out that the one who gave everything for him, could never have children, was her, would he... have a bit of compassion for her?
Probably not...
Iris thought aimlessly in her heart.
He’s not that "Brandan", not the "Brandan" who would feel sorry for her...
