Chapter 77: Fainting and Seeking Medicine
Chapter 77: Chapter 77: Fainting and Seeking Medicine
As a businesswoman, she had to be overly cautious.
In the business world, it all came down to profit, and she didn’t believe that those who helped Lin Group were doing so without wanting something in return, purely out of kindness.
"President Lin, don’t overthink it. Maybe you helped someone unintentionally, and now they’re returning the favor. You haven’t rested all night. Now that everything’s been resolved, you should take a break. Your health is important," Secretary Li looked at her, somewhat concerned for her well-being.
Her health was already poor, and before the crisis, urging her to rest had been futile. Now that the danger had passed, it was time for her to properly rest. He could tell she was pushing herself too hard.
If she collapsed, Lin Group would truly be unable to stand back up.
"Yeah, Xiang, you should rest first. We’ll call you when it’s time to sign the contract tonight," Yun Zhonghai told her.
Lin Xiang’s phone rang, and she let out a cold laugh, turning on the loudspeaker with a tone full of mockery, "Dong Jian, you think you were so capable. Why did Assistant Wang call just now saying they want to sign a contract with our Lin Group?"
"You lowlife, what kind of tricks did you use!" Dong Jian’s face darkened as he crushed the cigar in his hand.
He couldn’t understand where things had gone wrong. He had been sure of victory, and even Vice Chairman Gu had agreed to sign a contract with him, but then suddenly backed out. He couldn’t get a straight answer about why, so he had no choice but to call her.
"I have connections, and so do you. It’s just that mine are stronger. I’m really sorry for getting your hopes up," she hung up the phone, finally venting her frustration.
"Don’t let news of the contract signing leak out just yet. I want to see how many others can’t sit still."
From yesterday until now, many people had come to her to resign, even some of the senior staff had been poached by Dong Group. She had been good to them, yet they left at the most critical moment.
"Yes," Secretary Li’s eyes narrowed, aware that without this crisis, they would never have known how many turncoats were in the company.

The results of the monthly test were released on the third day.
Class Seven occupied four of the top five spots.
She ranked first, Gu Yue second, Lin Xuanze third, Zhang Ziyue fourth, Yang Xing fifth.
If it weren’t for Lin Xuanze’s true abilities, Liu Xiaoyan might have been held accountable by the parents of First Middle School, but she would still have enough trouble to deal with.
"I just passed by First Middle School, guess what I saw?" Liu Xiaopang came running back, deliberately holding back the punchline.
Wang Ning snickered, "Do I even need to guess? It must be Liu Xiaoyan scolding Class One."
"You got it right. She scolded them so harshly. But guess what happened? A few students from Class One talked back to her, and she got so angry she fainted on the spot. The ambulance is downstairs now," Liu Xiaopang laughed as he slapped the table.
Class Seven students were shocked; it was that severe.
But actually, they quite admired Class One; they were proverbial punching bags. If it were them, they would have rebelled long ago, not waited until now.
Yun Yue leaned back, her laughter casual, "She has high blood pressure, and she’s quick to anger. It was only a matter of time before she ended up in the hospital."
"Should we go see her?" Zhang Ziyue pursed her lips; after all, she was their teacher.
"Go see her? If you think her life is too long, you could go," Yang Xing stared wide-eyed in shock; the last thing Liu Xiaoyan wanted was to see anyone from Class Seven, especially the heavy hitters.
She knew Xiang had a kind heart, but that wasn’t the way to be good.
They couldn’t afford to be blamed for upsetting her to death.
"That’s hilarious, what an honest blunder."
Class Seven students burst into laughter, clutching their stomachs in mirth.
Zhang Ziyue pinched her fingertips, thinking there might be some truth to it.
Wang Ning remembered something and slapped his forehead, "Wait, if she’s hospitalized now, doesn’t that mean she can’t attend tomorrow’s parent-teacher conference?"
"That’s brilliant; how did I not think of that? She wouldn’t have fainted on purpose, would she?" Yang Xing suddenly stood up and headed out.
"Where are you going?"
Class Seven students watched him.
"Go see if she really fainted or is just faking it. If she’s faking, I’ll piss her off until she really passes out." Yang Xing’s hair was straight and tough as he looked at them seriously.
"Pretty ruthless." Wang Ning gritted his teeth with a smile, "I’m going with you."
Class Seven: "..."
Birds of a feather.
They followed with laughter, as members of Class Seven, how could they miss out on this?
"The patient has high blood pressure." A female nurse was treating Liu Xiaoyan, staring at her livid face with dark eyes. She had been really pissed off enough to faint!
It’s a high-risk profession!
She lowered her eyes. Being a teacher seemed no less taxing than being a doctor; blood pressure could be tens of mmHg higher than normal. One must avoid excessive stimuli, or else end up like this patient.
"Nurse, is she okay?" Li Hongsheng was watching anxiously on the side. He hoped she wouldn’t die from anger at school; First Middle School couldn’t bear that responsibility.
"She’s fine, just needs to sleep it off. Who are her students? Behave better from now on, and annoy her less." The nurse packed her things, her expression hidden behind a mask, but her eyes, as they looked meaningfully at the students behind Li Hongsheng, said a lot.
This is First Middle School; one could hardly imagine what kind of students could anger a teacher to this extent.
Class One: "..."
Could they even avoid carrying this blame?
They had only said one sentence, and she had fainted.
Ultimately, Class Seven was the real cause of trouble. Four of the top five students were from their class; as the homeroom teacher of Class One, who could stand it?
They were angry themselves.
Students from Class Seven all rushed over.
"Make way, we’re here to check on Mr. Liu." Yang Xing parted the crowd, and a group from Class Seven squeezed in.
Seeing Liu Xiaoyan lying on the gurney with a pale face and ashen lips, there was no doubt, she had really fainted.
"Are you her students?" The nurse stared at Yang Xing and his group, the schadenfreude on their faces almost certainly indicating they were the ones who had angered the teacher to faint.
Yang Xing immediately shook his head, "No, no, she’s the homeroom teacher of Class One, fainted because of their students. We’re from Class Seven, it has nothing to do with us. We’re just here to see if she is really..."
"Cough, cough." Wang Ning coughed twice, his fist to his mouth.
Yang Xing paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "We’re here to show concern for Mr. Liu, she was our English teacher before."
The onlooking teachers and students: "..."
Blind with your eyes wide open, you’re the best at it.
"Will she wake up tomorrow?" Yang Xing looked around, considering her condition, it seemed doubtful.
"She definitely will, just needs to sleep." The nurse was still unaware of his ulterior motives, finally someone seemed to care about the teacher; she had thought these students were heartless.
"That’s good to hear, thank you, Nurse."
Class Seven’s group couldn’t stop smiling. It looked like there was no need to worry about tomorrow’s parent-teacher conference. However, to prevent her from fainting again tomorrow, Yang Xing kindly spoke up.
"Nurse, do you have any blood pressure medicine? I’m afraid Mr. Liu might faint again if something upsets her. Can you prescribe her some medication?"
Wang Ning looked at him, a wolf in sheep’s clothing!
That’s just cruel!
The onlooking crowd gaped at Class Seven’s group. Could they really be so kind-hearted?!
They even asked the nurse to prescribe medication for Liu Xiaoyan?!
It all seemed a bit too simple.
