Lord Yan, The Little Ancestor Has Fallen Off The Horse Again! -
Chapter 50: With Her, There Are No Surprises
Chapter 50: Chapter 50: With Her, There Are No Surprises
"Alright, looking forward to your good news." The short-haired girl curled her lips, impatient with the provocation from Class Seven, unexpectedly agreeing so impulsively.
Yun Yue walked forward, hands in her pockets, cool and swaggering. Her eyes were sharp and cold as she spoke, "Since it’s a bet, shouldn’t there be a little something up for grabs?"
It was mid-September and the autumn wind tousled the hair by her ears, a teasing smile playing at the corners of her mouth, both cold and proud.
"Something up for grabs? Sure, we can’t let you guys from Class Seven off easy." The short-haired girl looked at her, scoffing at the idea that someone with zero points dared to speak up.
Her gaze landed on Yun Yue’s delicate face, and envy surged in her heart.
"If Class Seven wins, Class One will take turns supplying you with drinking water for a whole semester, but if you lose, Class Seven will supply us with water for a semester!"
Yun Yue smirked, raised her eyebrows slightly, her smile mischievous and bold, "Fine by me."
The short-haired girl snickered.
Wasn’t the outcome obvious?
There was no suspense.
Back in Class Seven, the atmosphere was oppressive.
Not because they had accepted the bet, but because they had no chance of winning.
"Yun Yue, what do we do, we’re doomed!" Zhang Ziyue’s brow furrowed tightly, her hands clenching the pen she held.
"Just study hard and aim for improvement." Yun Yue flipped open her textbook, looking serious and occasionally marking it with her pen.
Zhang Ziyue thought Yun Yue had reformed and leaned in to have a look, pressing her lips together in silence for a few seconds before pulling out her notebook, "Here’s my notebook, you take it and read."
"Beiming has fish, the name is Kun, Kun is so big, one pot can’t stew it, need two barbecue racks..." Yang Xing read from the Chinese textbook with a gloomy face, causing the whole Class Seven to erupt in laughter.
"Pff! Hahaha, that killed me! Yang Xing, can’t you be serious for once, even the text got rewritten by you," Wang Ning laughed, holding his stomach.
Yang Xing: "..."
Yun Yue turned her head to look at the despondent Yang Xing, her lips curling with a trace of a smile, both rogueish and malicious.
He slumped onto the desk listlessly, but upon seeing Yun Yue, he suddenly sat upright.
How could he forget about the uncrowned king of zero points in their class, who could drag down their grades by hundreds of points?
So during the break, he dragged a stool over, "Yun... Big Shot, we’re all part of Class Seven, let’s try to score even one more point. I’ll teach you how to do multiple-choice questions."
Facing her imposing manner, Yang Xing braced himself to teach.
"For three long one short, choose the short, for three short one long, choose the long, and if you have no clue, choose C..."
"Got it memorized, Big Shot?" Yang Xing asked her, fascinated by her exquisite profile, her brows devilish and wild.
She gave a noncommittal nod, "I’ve got it."
"Good. Young Master Gu sits right next to you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask him more often, maybe borrow his..." Yang Xing had wanted to suggest borrowing Young Master Gu’s notes, but then he remembered Gu Yue never took notes.
He was the sole oddity in Class Seven.
If only they had half his brainpower.
Dinnertime that evening.
Xiao Ye passed by Class Seven’s classroom, completely dumbfounded; he rubbed his eyes feeling like he was seeing things.
He checked the class sign multiple times.
It was definitely Class Seven.
Had the students of Class Seven gone mad?
Every single one of them was buried in their studies?!
Even the zero-pointer Yun Yue was studying?!
"Young Master Gu, take a look at how to do this problem." Yang Xing had gone through five sheets of scratch paper trying to solve this math problem—it was tough!
His brain cells weren’t up to it.
Gu Yue glanced at it and provided a pointer, "Use the integration theorem..."
Yang Xing immediately flipped through his book—a theorem he didn’t know.
He was only familiar with Murphy’s Law.
Gu Yue’s mouth twitched. He never saw Yang Xing sleeping or daydreaming in class, yet he didn’t know the integration theorem?
"How did you manage to score four to five hundred points?"
"Thanks to Liu Xiaoyan. I score above 135 in English every time, and at most a hundred in math."
He didn’t understand how he’d managed to offend Liu Xiaoyan. She always called on him during English class, forcing him to not dare to neglect English.
Because of that, his old man specially found him an English tutor.
"You really do have to thank her," Wang Ning laughed. Liu Xiaoyan truly was something; out of so many people in the class, she singled him out, although his English grades were very good.
Yang Xing glared at him, "Go do your work."
Xiao Ye left Class Seven without a sound.
He would wake up laughing from a dream tonight.
Yun Yue put down an extracurricular book and stood up to walk outside.
She left from the back, so most of Class Seven didn’t realize she had gone.
Half an hour later, she showed up with a big bag of bread, followed by a few store employees carrying several boxes of milk.
"You need to eat well to have strength; please help distribute one bread and one milk to each student."
Yun Yue stood on the podium, looking both rakish and prideful, her lips curled into a faint, teasing smile.
"Holy shit! I’m in love."
"Sob sob sob! So considerate."
"Boss, you’re the best."
So it turned out that Boss Yue only seemed cold-hearted; she was actually caring and gentle!
Suddenly, Yun Yue’s image in their minds grew significantly taller.
After eating, they continued to work on their problems.
People live on face, as trees live on bark.
They might shamelessly lose face, but Class Seven mustn’t lose theirs!
During evening self-study, Yun Yue flipped through her several thick books, studying intensely.
These people from Class Seven still had hope.
Later that night, going home.
Lin Xuanze sat in the car with her, unable to resist glancing at the person beside him who was looking down at her phone, the corner of his mouth lifting into a subtle, mischievous grin.
"Remember to look at the notes I gave you; they’ll be helpful to you."
He didn’t ask about today’s events. The long-standing grudge between Class One and Class Seven had reached a boiling point with today’s blackboard newspaper incident, lighting a fire under both classes.
He felt that Class Seven had no chance of winning the bet, but if they put in some effort, they wouldn’t lose too disgracefully.
Yun Yue curled her lip with an impudent expression, "We’re competitors now; you better worry about yourself."
Lin Xuanze: "..."
Consider that unsaid.
That night, Yun Yue sat at her computer and hacked directly into the First Middle School’s system, retrieving the exam papers for the next senior three monthly test.
Even with her abilities, it wasn’t possible to improve Class Seven’s scores dramatically overnight, but winning against Class One wasn’t entirely impossible either.
She modified all the questions, only keeping the general question types and mixing them up. She created six sets of exam papers and for each subject, she made three additional versions.
After doing so many similar questions, she refused to believe they wouldn’t remember them.
With her around, nothing should go wrong.
She sent all these papers to the new gaming group she created yesterday.
A stream of question marks followed.
[Everybody look at these, you have to memorize the question types until you can recite them in your sleep!]
The group was silent for a few seconds.
[Boss, tell me the truth, where did you get these exam papers?] Yang Xing asked.
She wouldn’t have gone and stolen the next monthly test papers, would she?
It didn’t seem impossible for her.
Yun Yue narrowed her eyes, [Found them online, just memorize them like I told you.]
[Whoever memorizes them first gets to play games with me.]
[I’ll memorize them; I’m on it right now.]
[Boss, wait for me.]
Yun Yue smirked and shut down her computer; these people were so eager once gaming was mentioned.
