Chapter 149: Everyone Listen to Her
Chapter 149: Chapter 149: Everyone Listen to Her
Yun Yueyue’s mouth twitched as she stared at the cake being pushed in front of her lips, were these two treating her like a pig to be fed?
Was buying all this cake meant to stuff her to death?
As she opened her mouth to speak, Xiao Chen seized the opportunity and stuffed a spoonful of cake into her mouth.
"..."
"Is it sweet?" Xiao Chen asked with eyes softened, tasting each flavor on the table for her with a spoon.
Yun Yueyue wouldn’t eat, but he continued holding it, not minding his sore arm.
She had no choice but to try a bit of each, or else he would keep holding it up.
After feeding her, he took a tissue to wipe her lips clean, his movements smooth and practiced as if he did it often. This bewildered Lou Ting.
Feng Ye found it not at all strange; knowing Master Chen could do anything when it came to little kids.
Lou Ting’s gaze flickered, finding it unexpected that Yun Yueyue would accept his feeding. She usually disliked others touching her, making him feel a sense of crisis, especially since it was Xiao Chen.
He was dangerous.
Deeply cunning, skilled in scheming, never acting without a motive, ruthless—his abnormal behavior made him worry even more about Xiao Chen’s intentions towards Yun Yueyue. One shouldn’t be fooled by his outward appearance.
"I’m exhausted, Yueyue, did you like my singing just now?" Ruan Yingtong ran over, hooking her arm and resting her small head on Yueyue’s shoulder, her face innocent and angelic.
Spotting the supremely handsome man beside her made her heart skip a beat.
Xiao Chen.
That man from Beijing whom everybody dared not even mention—why was he here?
Did he know Yueyue?
She instinctively tightened her grip on her arm, pulling her slightly to the side.
Ruan Yingtong had only seen Xiao Chen once at a banquet; even though it was just his profile, she could recognize him at a glance.
Lou Ting had said this man was very dangerous; up close, his features were sharp with a hint of cold austerity, his eyes deep and dark as icy waters, very cold.
She dared not meet his eyes, quickly averting her gaze.
Unexpectedly, Yueyue’s friend was Xiao Chen, which made her withdraw her gaze unnaturally.
Seeing her action, Xiao Chen frowned. Was he that frightening?
Feeling the person next to him shift slightly to the right, his gaze grew dark, a hint of coldness swirling around him.
This young girl dared to snatch someone from beside him?
Lou Ting’s smile deepened. Ruan Yingtong was indeed Yueyue’s treasure, her weight in Yueyue’s heart immovable as a boulder, it was impossible for him to change that. If Xiao Chen dared to touch Ruan Yingtong, Yun Yueyue would never forgive him.
Ruan Yingtong felt his gaze and instinctively shivered, her neck contracting like a frightened cat, her eyes lively yet scheming.
Yun Yueyue patted her hand, sweeping her gaze toward the person beside, her almond-shaped eyes squinting with a warning tone, "Ruan Yingtong is my friend, don’t you scare her!"
Xiao Chen retracted his imposing aura, looking more intently at Ruan Yingtong, his gaze deep as the Milky Way, dark and mysterious, enchantingly so.
He took off his suits jacket, rolled up his sleeves, his voice low and magnetic, lips slightly pursed, his look challenging, "I hear Mr. Lou is a billiards expert, how about a game?"
"Sure," Lou Ting grinned, confident from playing billiards for so many years. He had only ever lost to Yun Yueyue, not in skill, but in wit.
She could use physical principles to control the force and direction of strike, sinking a few in one shot—other play was pointless!
He had practiced many times but never mastered her technique, so he gave up.
Brains are a useful thing, sadly, not enough was his.
The two started playing billiards nearby, while Feng Ye and Mo Fan clinked glasses, conversing merrily.
Sun Hong stood still, as if her feet weighed a ton, her expression like someone seeing a ghost.
That was Xiao Chen, the Crown Prince of Beijing!
The Xiao Chen people mentioned with changed expressions!
The Xiao Family, leaders of the Four Major Families, headed by Xiao Chen!
He and the boss were actually friends!
She couldn’t believe her eyes in that scene just now, Xiao Chen was actually feeding the boss and even wiped her mouth!
Despite her composure, she couldn’t hide her emotions at this moment. Her jaw had dropped to the floor, she wanted to move her legs but couldn’t budge, and even felt her legs go weak. Someone give her a hand.
Ruan Yingtong calmed down and then pulled Yun Yueyue aside, cautioning her to be wary of Xiao Chen, "He devours people without spitting out their bones." She then noticed that Sun Hong was still standing in place, looking like her agent was scared out of her wits.
"Sister Sun, are you okay?" Ruan Yingtong bent over, raised her head, and asked playfully.
"..."
This is needless advice.
"My legs are weak, help me up," Sun Hong said, her voice trembling slightly.
Ruan Yingtong didn’t tease her anymore and went up to help her, ending up leaning her whole body on her, struggling to walk.
"..."
It seemed she was not lightly scared.
Feng Ye raised his eyebrows, seeing Sun Hong’s reaction and finally felt like there was a normal person here, as both Ruan Yingtong and the woman beside her were behaving too abnormally.
This woman, named Mo Fan, claimed to be Yun Yueyue’s friend, but she didn’t seem like it; it was more of a subordinate relationship. Ruan Yingtong, on the other hand, was the kind of heart-close friend.
Feng Ye felt that Master Chen’s pursuit of the young ones had just become more difficult.
At that moment, the door to the private room opened, and the manager of Tianxi arrived, followed by two waiters, each carrying a bottle of red wine.
The room was filled with a sweet smell of cake, lacking any pungent tobacco smell, and the air was surprisingly fresh.
They passed through the vestibule only to see Xiao Chen and Lou Ting playing pool, each holding a cue stick, looking ready to strike each other’s heads.
His gaze surveyed the room, finally landing on Feng Ye, "Mr. Feng, when did you and Master Chen come back? It’s been a long time since you played here. These two bottles of new wine, one for you and one for Young Master Lou."
The kid is here, so Feng Ye didn’t dare smoke, nor had he seen Lou Ting order any alcoholic drinks, just juice.
"Just put it on my tab for now."
The manager was somewhat surprised; not drinking didn’t seem like Mr. Feng’s style.
"Give it here. I’ll drink it," Mo Fan spoke up, having eaten some cake earlier and finding her mouth cloyingly sweet; she definitely needed some red wine to wash it down.
Feng Ye gestured, and the two waiters brought the wine over.
The manager glanced sideways at the two playing pool; in no time, their cues met swiftly, producing a crisp clashing sound.
Anxious, he wiped the sweat from his brow as he watched the two exchange cold, challenging glances—a difficult situation.
If something was broken, that was one thing, but if someone got injured here, Tianxi would also be responsible.
Ruan Yingtong, somewhat scared, edged a bit to the side, fearing they might throw the balls and hit her.
Yun Yueyue raised her brows and swept her gaze towards them, her lips curling into a half-smile, "If you think your heads are hard, I can give them a try."
The two exchanged glances and then looked away.
Xiao Chen curled his lips, his eyebrows lifting, "Young Master Lou, it’s your turn."
Lou Ting eyed him, cue in his right hand, casually shooting and sinking the ball.
The manager secretly glanced at Yun Yueyue, startled. This young girl, he had never seen before, was actually making two major figures of Beijing listen to her.
And neither of them was angry at her manner of speaking which would have been unthinkable for ordinary people, even with ten times the courage.
