Chapter 123: Chapter 123: Need to Earn More Money
At first, they didn’t really trust his medical skills. After all, he was too young. It was only after her brother mentioned that Song Yu was transferred from Beijing, where he had been the leading doctor at the City Center Hospital, that they felt reassured.
He was just over 25 years old, yet he possessed such advanced medical skills. Many of Lan City’s wealthy families were currying favor with him. Aside from his skills, it was said that he had a strong backing in Beijing!
Her brother only mentioned him in passing.
How could Yun Yue possibly know Song Yu?
Was it the same person, or just a coincidence?
"Right," she responded lightly, and then turned around with a lazy stride, her irritation growing as it disturbed her sleep.
Li Hongsheng stared at the door, somewhat apprehensive, "Be gentle, the school is poor."
Yun Yue half-smiled, her face playful as she lazily walked out of the office. He had been looking for trouble before, and with nowhere to vent her anger, she had taken it out on his door.
Shen Xuan stared at Yun Yue’s back. Even Aunt Lin had to curry favor with Dr. Song. Not only did she have his contact but she could actually get him to visit the school personally—everything seemed odd.
"Putting on airs!" Zhao Min couldn’t contain her anger.
Liang Qian’s eyes were downcast as she stared at the sealed bag in Li Hongsheng’s hand. She and Zhao Min had touched Shen Xuan’s music scores before; even if they were found out, no one would suspect them.
But this meant she had dodged another bullet!
Really, like a cockroach that couldn’t be killed!
"Disperse, disperse. Go back for self-study."
The group followed out of the classroom, all on edge and with differing thoughts.
Liu Xiaoyan hadn’t expected Yun Yue to survive this either, but it didn’t matter. She had gotten hold of Yun Yue’s review materials and was planning to anonymously release them—no one would suspect her.
It was her contribution to First Middle School.
As a student of First Middle School, it was petty of Yun Yue to keep such good study materials to herself.
Yun Yue returned to class seven, and everyone looked at her and gathered around.
"Yun Yue, were you in the office for so long because something happened? They tossed your desk," Zhang Ziyue asked with concern.
"It’s nothing, just some clowns," she replied, lying limp on the desk like she had no bones. "Disperse, I’m going back to sleep."
Seeing that she didn’t want to talk, everyone returned to their seats. Seeing Yang Xing and others come in, they ran over to ask, but clearly, they also didn’t want to speak and gave up.
Song Yu drove to the school personally, and the school director greeted him.
Although the director was a minor figure, he had heard of Song Yu. Keeping up with the news and a bit of gossip never hurt.
"That guy is so handsome. Director Li is even personally greeting him—who is he?"
"That person is Song Yu, head of the cardiology department at the City Center Hospital. Ever since he became a doctor, he has never failed a surgery. It’s said he’s a doctor from Beijing’s City Center Hospital with a strong background."
"Why would he come to Lan City?"
"Who knows."
It was break time, and some students leaned on the corridor railings, watching as Li Hongsheng tentatively welcomed him.
Shen Xuan had just come out to use the bathroom when she overheard their conversation and pursed her lips, taking a look herself.
Although she had only seen Song Yu once, and he was wearing a mask, he had a mole at the corner of his eye that was very distinctive.
It really was Song Yu.
Had Yun Yue really managed to invite him here?
How could she possibly have such influence?!
It wasn’t until the two disappeared from her sight that she somewhat distractedly entered the classroom.
The next day.
Yun Yue went to the infirmary to sleep, as usual, raising an eyebrow when she saw him treating someone.
It finally made sense why he was a psychiatrist, though it seemed a bit beneath him.
Only after everyone had left did the two of them stop to chat with her.
"Little brat, we’re heading back to Beijing tomorrow, take good care of yourself," Feng Ye said as he packed his things.
"Oh," Yun Yue responded indifferently.
He clutched his chest, a look of heartache on his face, "That’s your reaction? It really breaks my heart."
Yun Yue sprawled casually on the sofa and gave him a mocking look, "You still have feelings?"
Love is everywhere, like wildflowers scattered across a field.
"..."
He glared fiercely at the man behind him, the one who slandered him in front of the brat. Feeling the man lift his eyelids, he immediately turned around.
"There are two more months, you can do it," Xiao Chen said, his thin lips slightly moving, his cold brows slightly furrowed.
He had prepared many words, but when they reached his lips, only this sentence remained. He pursed his lips, adding another line, his sculptured features deep as an ink painting.
"It’s okay if you don’t get in, don’t put too much pressure on yourself, just try your best."
Worst comes to worst, he would arrange a school for her.
Feng Ye snorted, her demeanor hardly one of someone under pressure.
She put on her headphones and started the music.
"..."
You don’t even listen to Master Chen’s words, no one else but you would disregard him like that!
This little brat would probably turn Beijing upside down if she went there.
She fell asleep while listening, and when she woke up, there was no one else in the room. She got up, threw off the blanket, pulled out her earphones, and sat bonelessly on the sofa.
Seeing the cake on the table, her listless eyes lit up.
"..."
"Master Chen, just leaving like that?"
Feng Ye drove the car, looking at the luxurious and cold man in the rearview mirror, his aura chilly and his brows slightly knitted.
"Master Chen has returned twice already, and this time he definitely won’t let things slide. Let’s go back and deal with the Xiao Family first. It’s been too long since I’ve shown my face; the people in Beijing have probably forgotten there’s such a person as me."
He closed his eyes, twirling the Mo Jade Thumb Ring on his thumb, his sword-like brows wrapped in a layer of cold frost as he solidified his presence.
"You finally remembered you have a business to run," Feng Ye teased.
He had been in Lan City for a year, initially to find the Ghost Doctor for his aunt, then running off to First Middle School to become a psychology teacher.
He carelessly delegated his business to his subordinates; nothing in order.
"Lately, spending has been a bit high, need to earn more."
Feng Ye slammed on the brakes, steadying the car, which had undergone modifications, securely on the roadside. The previous car had been taken for servicing; even this SUV was more stable now.
He hadn’t expected such words to come out of his mouth.
He had so much money he couldn’t spend it all in a lifetime, and yet he said his expenses were high!
Such words from a bachelor!
He turned his face to sneak a peek, making sure he was not joking, before resuming driving the car.
**
Two days later, Song Yu brought the inspection results to the school, the same people as last time.
Li Hongsheng warmly hosted Song Yu, personally serving him tea.
"Dr. Song, how are the results?" Li Hongsheng asked.
The people in the office also stared at her.
Song Yu, with his deep-set eyes, looked casually cool. His gaze fell on the person leaning against the corner, his lips slightly moving, his voice enticing, "There are only four people’s fingerprints on it, I’ve already made comparisons—they are Shen Xuan’s, Liang Qian’s, Zhao Min’s, and Liu Xiaoyan’s, none from Yun Yue."
The cardiac director doing fingerprint identification seemed like an underuse of his abilities, but who would dare not obey the master?
