Chapter 67: Shi’Enz In Theodore Mansion.

Hound’s Cottage, Theodore’s Mansion.

Critic Arley, Critic-Ishire.

***************

Hound had never wanted or felt the need to possess anyone as much as he does with Shi’Enx whenever she was in the vicinity, it is as if he cannot breathe anymore and only her scent can give him relief, one he felt undeserving of but still he hunters for it.

Shi’Enz stood with her heart in her throat, she did not know what was happening to her but she had missed Hound as though they were inseparable and Hound had suddenly separated. She had only seen him for the first time that day he had come to the estate, she thought, yet it felt as though they had an unfulfilled promise swirling between them.

His eyes darkened, he dropped all the gardening tools in his hand and then he started to walk towards Shi’Enz with darkened gaze, his steps calculative and slow, she shivered and with a gulp, she took steps backwards until her back hit a wall.

Goosebumps coated her arm just as she noticed his face, it looked paler than usual, and

"What happened to you?" she asked, her hand reaching for his face she seemed to hesitate attempting to drop it when Hound’s large cold palm gripped it.

He brought it to his face. "I craved your fresh air" he whispered.

She blushed. "Are you full now?" she asked.

"I shall never be full," he declared, startling her.

"I will need to go back" she reasoned

He grumbled. "And you will after I get a good amount"

And he drew her into a hug.

Shi’Enz drew in a breath of surprise as she was suddenly engulfed by a warmth that was not like any other, he pressed her further into him making her relax and slowly enjoy the comfort he was generously giving, this might have been a way to fill himself but she has also contended and she felt safe. Safer than she thought she would, she snuggled deeper into his arms, deleting any possible space that could have existed between them.

Hound groaned as he pressed her back into him, her body warm and inviting he had been outside in the garden for a while now, his fingers had been cold and busy, his thighs aching but he remained there as only that brought him comfort but with Shi’Enz here he needed nothing more than for her to be within his embrace. Her hair was under his nose, and her hands were still and by her side, he didn’t mind as her presence alone in his arms was enough and she didn’t have to return his hug, yet.

As he attempted to end the hug his hand felt something that made a sound in her dress pocket and it made him curious.

"What is this here?" he asked she was steps back now but within arm’s length.

"Cookies" she mumbled, her cold face now rosy.

His lips still in a straight line he asked. "Why do you have them in your pockets?" she stays mute, looking behind him, just to avoid his gaze.

"Tell me" he prodded.

She clasped her hands together. "Because they’re nice and I wanted to share them with you" she countered.

Hound felt his heart struggle to stay in this haven, Shi’Enz is still like this, she thinks of him whenever she finds something interesting and he could not be any more delighted.

"How did you know where to find me?" he asked.

She played with her fingers as she answered. "I asked a maid, ...Joyous?" she seemed to recall.

"Shi’Enz..." he groaned, his beautiful eyes closing for the briefest of seconds.

Her heart escalated and her pupils appeared confused...

"What are you doing to me, Shi’Enz" he groaned. He could not believe had gone through the embarrassment in most ladies’ eyes to ask of him from a maid, she had been confident about wanting to see him and being ready to search. She took cookies from the mansion and pocketed them for him. Those cookies were one of the things he had learned from his mother, she had been kind.

Shi’Enz blinked confused and abruptly nervous "I... do you not want the cookies?" she asked innocently.

"No Shi’Enz I made them" he informed her making her eyes widen.

"You did?!" she squealed. "They’re so good, you should make more for me" she implored.

He watched her intently before he said "If you promise to come get them, or I might be forced into your room"

"I shall come to you" she declared.

"Do you still not want any?"

"I will the next time you offer it" he countered, his face almost emotionless.

She nodded with a smile, her face as red as a ripe tomato, she had never been this intimate with a man before but Zachary lulled her into him so easily.

"I am satiated now, Shi’Enz" he said because if she stood within his vicinity he would be pushed to want her and never let her go.

"Thank you for the cookies" she mumbled, flushed.

"Bye," she added.

He blinked once as he watched her go. Away from him and soon behind the walls where he couldn’t see her.

Now, that Shi’Enz has cleared his lungs, he recalls he owes an apology and a gratitude to someone.

Evening.

Library, Theodore Mansion.

Critic Arley, Critic-Ishire.

***************

"Here is your library Lady Theodore" Solomon presented Lydia with a large room, the mansion library that was once empty and echoed, it now had rows and columns of racks on the wall, tall and wide, proving it ready to occupy books and aesthetics.

Lydia smiled, her heart full. This happened faster than she thought it would, and she was so happy to show it to Theodore but not until she completed the update.

"Progress" Dorothy muttered behind them making Lydia turn to her. She saw Red nestled in her arms so she stretched her hands for it to be handed to her.

Lydia took the pet and walked to the reading chair, Solomon had made for her. A reading chair that would become a haven of refinement for her.

It is upholstered in rich, brocade fabric, the chair carries an intricate floral pattern that whispers romantic sensibilities making her smile. It had mahogany wood frames and it was carved with meticulous detail, it has a gently curved backrest and scrolled arms.

A tufted button design graces the back, adding an extra layer of plush comfort. The legs are adorned with brass, allowing for it to have a touch of mobility in this sanctuary of her literary indulgence.

She thought of how a tasselled throw and a small side table nearby would complete the scene, inviting one to lose oneself in the pages of a romance novel or a history book.

"Thank you, I love the seat" she confessed, her smile full.

Solomon grinned, his hair dusty, "It is my pleasure Lady Theodore" he said.

As Lydia thought of other things to do, she strolled out of the library. There was the couch, new curtains, the hangers, a chandelier, glass windows, and the painter she was still waiting for.

She played with Red’s chin as she took her seat in the parlour.

"Dorothy where is Shi’Enz?" she asked the maid of her sister.

She had forgotten the girl for a while as she was busy admiring what her mansion was turning into.

"I am unaware of her location, Joyous might know" Dorothy relayed.

"I’m here!" Shi’Enz’s voice met them in a screech. She looked flushed and flustered.

"Come let us have lunch" Lydia invited.

"Yes," she agreed, lifting her dress and going after her sister. The cookies made a noise that drew Joyous’s eyes, their eyes met and they both broke into a grin.

*************

The visitor, Shi’Enz and the lady of the house, Lydia enjoyed a hearty meal and snack for lunch.

Lydia felt good and comfortable in the presence of her sister, she had gone through a good amount of growth since she arrived in the mansion. If Shi’Enz had come to this mansion earlier when Lydia had marked the lord, Lydia would have been uptight and filled with uncertainty but now she sees things differently and knows she does not care what she would pick and tell to the family as she is confident of her new self.

Shi’Enz had been her only close sister one who whenever she could curry her sister’s favour and she would mercilessly drag Lydia into the mud for a while, though she would always come back to apologize, Lydia always felt hurt and a fragment of her heart broke each time, her trust reduced and her fate in the belief that she would one day escape the pain and jealousy increased each time. Shi’Enz was a sister controlled by the whole family and Lydia tried to be a person who supported instead of dictated to her. Lydia wished she had a sister who had been unconditionally there for her and wouldn’t need confirmation from others on her feelings for her.

Now to be out of the house, she has created a safe haven for Shi’Enz in the supposed monster’s mansion.

After lunch, they sat in the parlour talking about knitting which Shi’Enz does when she out of the blue asked a question. "Were you ever curious?" she asked.

"Curious about what, sister?" Lydia asked patiently.

"About who your father is."
