Chapter 64: Wishing She Met His Mother.

Midnight.

Bedroom, Theodore Mansion.

Critic Arley, Critic-Ishire.

***************

"I met Shade today" she whispered, knowing well that he was still awake.

His voice vibrated in his chest "Oh you finally acknowledged him"

"Whatever does that mean?" she asked looking up to meet his eyes, he placed a kiss on her forehead.

"It means you believed someone was in the walls and you came to terms with it, maybe even talked to it" he clarified to her making her nod.

"Yes, I thought about it" she confessed.

"Shade is just like that, he cannot come out in your presence if you have not acknowledged him" his fingers played with the strands of her on her lower back.

"He said your mother gave him to you" she mumbled her eyes closed.

Theodore sighed "That is what he says, I can’t remember when" he countered. "I merely acknowledged his presence one day and then he sprang out calling me master, he’s been around since" he added feeling nostalgic.

"He looks older" she whispered into his chest.

"He is old" he retorted making her laugh.

Moments of silence passed before she asked a question that she had been meaning to ask.

"How would you describe your mother" her question.

"A coward," he said coldly.

"What?" her eyes opened in shock.

His lips twitched. "I mean she was soft and beautiful, I have her eyes," he told her.

"I wish I had the opportunity to meet her" she enunciated.

Mmm, he grumbled as he pulled her to bed.

And as he stared at the wall throughout the night, listening to his wife’s soft intake of breath, he didn’t wish the same.

Dawning.

********

As the couple helped themselves get ready for the day, they did it in silence and a pool of restrained lust.

Lydia smiles to herself as she lets herself think about how she never thought her life would become this comfortable and free when she got married, she had thought she would still crave to be somewhere else, wish to flee and be free.

She has a lovely husband who’s a bit on the overbearing side, a loner and a powerful man, he makes her -

"We are going out today" Theodore’s voice pierced through her bubble of thought.

"We are?" she questioned turning to look at him.

"Yes, Gooseberry, dress like a peasant" he informed coming to view with her shoe in hand. She stood up, leaving the mirror behind.

"I... where are we going to?" she asked as she sat on the bed for him to have easier access to her feet.

"To a jeweller, Gooseberry," he said.

Ever since they had started to help each other her dressed, Theodore had added fixing her shoe wears in her feet too and she couldn’t be any more loved.

"For me?!" she screeched making her leg shift from his grasp, he looked at her with narrowed eyes, making her pout.

"For my wife," he said instead.

"I better get ready!" she announced, attempting to leave his hold. He pressed a palm to her knee as he said.

"Now now wife, we are only going after noon" She deflated but nodded in agreement.

They had duties this morning.

Dining Hall, Theodore Mansion.

Critic Arley, Critic-Ishire.

***************

"The Carpenter will be entering the bedroom today" she told her husband during breakfast, Hound had been present in the kitchen today but completely blank.

"That is because?" Theodore asked.

She was yawning when he asked so she didn’t hear him.

"Gooseberry why do you want another man in our bedroom?" he questioned again.

"I told you we need to shift the bed from its position," she said after chewing her food.

"If you wish to pleasure yourself in the dark area I advise you do not" he warned in a dark voice.

She went beet red.

"Why?" she managed to ask.

"I want to watch you do it," he said with a darkened gaze.

She holds on to her bearing as she says "You can watch me in the dark"

"Let us shift the bed," he said quickly

She started to laugh and almost snorted before her mind cleared to ask "Whatever do you mean?" because he looked serious.

"We need to move a bed" he declared.

"I do not have such strength, Theodore" she confessed with a grimace.

"Then the bed shall remain in its beautiful obscure position" he retorted watching her.

They are the rest of the food in silence and then she is pulling him out of his seat. He followed her willingly and when they got to the bedroom she let his hand go, he missed her feel immediately.

"Where should I hold?" she asked watching the bed.

He smirked as he guided her.

With great effort they both shifted the heavy bed to Lydia’s desirable position, somewhere tucked in a warm side, the light illuminating from the window its only brightness.

With a groan, they both lay down facing the celiene.

A soft thud on the bed summoned Lydia’s attention, she turned to find Red prancing towards her.

"Oh, Red" she purred at the sight of her pet, rising to a sitting position.

She picked it up "How are you my Red?" she asked playing with its fur.

"My fluffy hero" she cooed, bringing it to her cheeks.

Theodore watched appalled.

"Did Dorothy still take care of you?" the cat groaned, Lydia giggled "She did not?!" she feigned shock, playing with its paw.

Of course, Dorothy wouldn’t after Red had scratched her so viciously.

"I shall take care of you" she promised and the cat purred, nudging her palm.

"What is happening right now?" Theodore’s thundering voice reached her and her eyes widened in regret.

"Whatever do you mean, Honey" she whispered.

He brought his face to hers. "Why are you calling it your hero?" he questioned.

She shrugged, deciding to proceed with her tease. "That is because he is my fluffy, purry hero"

"Gooseberry" he growled a warning. "You don’t utter such atrocities, it is just a cat" he pointed out, his brows creased. "How is he your hero?"

"He saved hound!" she defended. "And it’s a cat I adore" she made a face.

Theodore looked genuinely cringed. He did save Hound but the man is still verbally unresponsive. "How is that beast adorable?" he questioned.

"But it is the love of m... Ahhh" Lydia shrieked when Theodore attempted to take the pet from her.

She stood up and with a laugh, she ran out of the room.

Theodore laid back in bed with a smile, He had never been happier and his wife appeared the happiest in this life.

He shall keep it that way, he mentally vowed.

Theodore’s office.

Critic Arley, Critic-Ishire.

**********

Lydia had come back to meet Theodore in his office after having to take care of Red along with Joyous because Dorothy was shared while Mira had been transferred to the gates by Theodore despite Lydia’s casualness. He could not let a distrustful person into his mansion.

As the husband and wife sit in silence, Theodore going through stationery and tasks and Lydia eating snacks and watching him, she thinks for a while before leaving her seat abruptly.

"I’m going to have a chat with Sir Conan" she expressed, her reason for getting up.

Theodore looked at her, his lips wet from having run his lips over them before he asked "Now? I have to finish-" she cut him off

"I did not ask you along Theodore" she pointed out.

He nodded "I intended to come along" he revealed confidently.

She shook her head "Do not, it’s a secret" she let out.

His shoulders tightened but he remained seated. "You’re keeping secrets with Conan?!" he bellowed a question.

She laughs nervously "No, Theodore.. It’s-" she started to say but abruptly changed direction when he told up "Do not follow me!. She said her index outstretched.

"Gooseberry" he growled.

She narrowed her eyes. "Stay back, Red can keep you company" she added as the furry animal sauntered inside.

Theodore sighed as he watched the pet transform into a beast right after Lydia stepped out of the office.

Horse Stable, Theodore Mansion.

*******************

The Lady of Theodore Mansion, Lady Lydia searched through the mansion before finding the knight at the mansion stable, she has barely reached this area.

She needs to have Theodore tour her around the mansion again, She thought.

"Hello, Sir Conan" she greeted, his back facing her before he turned to her with a small bow.

"Good day, Lady Theodore" he spoke.

"I need your help" she disclosed.

"Whatever it may be I assure you Theodore can do it for you" he articulated

She was shocked "But-"

"But I shall do it for you to piss him off" he fessed up with a smirk cutting into her conversation.

She smiled too "That’s lovely, I need a painter"

"What?"

"A painter, of walls, I need one" She clarified with a nod.

"Where are we painting, Milady, the lord let you do that?" he referred to her as Milady because he would take every chance he gets to tease Theodore despite him being absent.

"Yes he did let me, So get me a painter, I need the place painted before dawn" she urged.

"Alright then, before noon" he proclaimed, releasing a horse from its stable.

She met his black eyes before she whispered "Do not tell Theodore"

"However suspicious, I shall not" Conan conceded.

She whispered a "Thank you" her smile small.

She sauntered back into the mansion, her face bright.
