Conan reached Helenas’ room and knocked on it after taking two deep breaths, she didn’t answer and that made him frown, if Joyous said she was here then she’d have to be. "Helena?" he called out.

The door swung open and her raven black hair peeked out first. "What do you want Sir?"

He resisted a smile as he asked. "Where have you been?"

"Here?" she asked back nonchalantly.

"Helena I do not know the muckraker to lie but that was not completely true, I did not do anything-" She cut him off with a glare, she had seen the scene where he looked smitten and hot for the miss he had been kissing in the marketplace.

"It was not an actual kiss" he said in his defense.

She raised a brow. "The setting?"

"It was a fucking street" he growled, it had been a mere kiss to the cheek but because they stood alone, it had appeared private apparently to the muckraker.

"Where you went to meet her" she pointed out, making him frown. "I went there for you and merely met her on the way, i had to be a gentleman" she glared at him.

He held her gaze intently as he declared. "Helena I would never disrespect whatever this is that we have like that"

"This is nothing! leave!" she attempted to yell but her voice quivered and she dropped her head, her chin tight.

He swallowed hard, "Helena?" he called stepping inside. She met his eyes, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Come here" he opened his arms but she only pouted while Dorothy who was watching from the sidelines melted.

"You do not have to be so jealous" he whispered into her hair when she let him engulf her in his warmth.

"I was not!" she whined, he smiled "Ok"

After a moment of simply hugging and absorbing feelings, he added. "Crying is prohibited"

"Shut up" she choked out with a sniffle.

He chuckled but pressed her cheek into his chest, her forehead under his chin while his nose sniffed her hair.

"Helena my father is still expecting me to get married to a certain fiance" he

She smiled. "I am that fiancee"

"Yes you are," he confirmed, running his palm up her back in a soothing gesture he would never do anything to hurt her, the muckraker had misunderstood.

"And contrary to what i thought was happening, I do not merely tolerate you, I adore you, your company completes me and that is why I had to follow you here" he confessed while she moved back meeting his bright eyes.

He held her chin between his fingers. "Come with me" he invited.

"Next week" she replied.

"Next week?" he asked back to be sure.

"Yes, I assume this is you asking for my hand or kidnapping me" she asked gingerly

Conan pinned errant hair behind her ear as he whispered. "Can it be both?"

"Mother would have loved this" she said, melancholy dripping out of her voice.

"What happened to her?" he tried.

"Five years ago, life happened," she replied vaguely.

"Lady Clingy you do not have to hide from me" he invited, he’d thought he hated her clinginess but now he missed her presence like he’d never missed anyone before. There had been a hollow in him that she filled and he wanted her to remain there.

She looked away. "Even as a witch?"

He took both her hands in his large palm. "Especially as a magic practitioner"

"I was scared of your rejection, Sir obnoxious" she confessed, her cheeks flaming.

"So you came to the hunters’ den?" he raised an elegant brow.

"He owed me for saving his wife," she pointed out sharply.

He nodded, agreeing with her, Theodore had been misunderstood even by him. "I owe you too and I would like to pay forever" he promised.

"You do not have to, I simply could" she told him, humble in her ability.

With a lopsided grin he whispered. "That makes you extremely powerful, the spell had been an undisruptable one"

"Who placed it?" she asked curiously.

He paused at that question before pinching her chin. "Next week, love"

"I will come to sweep you off your feet," he promised.

"You are leaving?" she asked, confused.

"I have never stayed this long away from my house" his confession.

"There really are voices in your wall" she said meekly.

"Well you shall help me pull them out" he offered with a boyish smile that made her blink.

"Did you not sleep? Were you so jealous that sleep evaded you?" he traced his index around her eyes, making her flutter it shut.

He bent his head, pressed a kiss to that eye before whispering as she sighed. "Do not disrupt the rest of pretty mind with the muckrakers pettiness"

"She is not petty" Helena mumbled her head angling for Conan’s view, he smiled dropping another kiss on her other eye that is also shut close.

"When I finally find her, I’d make her apologize to you for this sleepless night" Conan whispered.

"I was not sleepless because of you, or jealousy..." she trailed off, she’d been sleepless because she was scared she’d get another vision of Conan with his lady but now she was sure it wouldn’t be happening again.

"You are not going to the shop today, ’’ he observed.

"No..." but her reply scattered into a yawn as her body laxed a bit into him.

"Come on let us get you to bed" he guided her to the four legged bed.

"I am not at all, sleepy I just want to-" he interrupted her lousy excuse. "Talk to me? you can do that on the bed"

As she climbed into bed he placed his arm over her waist when she faced the otherside with a smile.

"Helena love?" he called seconds later.

Mmm, she moaned a reply that shot straight to his shaft making him grit his teeth.

"I missed you" he whispered after gathering his bearings, his arms tightening around her.

She mumbled something back and he assumed what she’d said was ’I miss you too’ because he couldn’t bear a sarcastic remark at that moment.

He hugged her to sleep.

"Come let us say hello to Helena" Lydia invited Mathilda from their sitting place and she stood up after her.

"The new friend?" Mathilda asked in a sing song.

Lydia waved her off. "Oh drop the jealous friend facade"

They laughed lightly and went up the stairs.

Upon reaching her door, Lydia knocked lightly assuming Helena might be sewing.

No answer.

"Helena?"

Dorothy quickly ran after Lydia. "Lady Theo... Lady Theodore no" she started blushing profusely. "She is not alone," she added.

"Oh?" Lydia’s brow squeezed in thoughts. "Who is there with her?"

"Joyous?"

"No, I do not think... Sir Conan" she squealed.

"Her knight is with her" she added breathless from running up the stairs.

There was a moment of silence before the two looked at each and Lydia announced. "We shall be downstairs"

Meanwhile inside, Conan had eyes narrowed and set on the door, as his hold tightened on Helena, if she’d woken up he would have been really disappointed in the lady. He looked down at Helena who has turned in her sleep and now has her face set to his view. He smiled, she’d always face away from him back at the bungalow but she didn’t know she ultimately ended up facing him before the morning.

He noticed her stressed out features, perhaps it was the new shop opening but he didn’t like to know that she hadn’t been resting well which was why he’d offered to help her sleep after she confirmed his assumptions with a yawn.

He adored this woman and with that knowledge and her peaceful face, he slept off beside her.

"Come, let us leave" Shi’Enz announced the second she was back in the mansion.

Mathilda, who was sitting alone in the parlor, blinked , surprised, "Already?"

Shi’Enz nodded, looking around suspiciously. "Before father sends out a search"

"Miss you are yet to say anything to your sister" Mathilda reminded her, finding it shocking that Shi’Enz could forget.

Shi’Enz’s eyes widened. "Lydia, right"

"Sister!" and there came Lydia with a familiar squeal.

At her junior sister’s dow looking face, Lydia smiled. "It alright, run along, I would hate it if father finds you here again"

Shi’Enz drew Lydia for a hug.

"Thank you for coming, and also bringing Mathilda along" Lydia whispered sincerely, she understood to some extent and she wished the two would figure something out.

"Thank you" she whispered back, grateful.

They seperated and Lydia caught Tom’s gaze as he was looking intently at Mathilda from a corner but Lydia didn’t notice as she instructed him. "Get Blanc for us"

A moment passed and the boy came back with Blanc in tow. They headed for the carriage and there was Hound standing by the door to help the ladies inside. Lydia’s eyes widened when he hopped onto a horse that Gabriel delivered to him. "Oh? He is going along" she whispered to no one exactly.

"Bye" she waved at them with her hand fan before going inside.

Shi’Enz hoped father wouldn’t notice and she could wait for Hound hopelessly, But Julius wasn’t a small man, he caught on fast and was at home waiting for his very stubborn daughter.

You will never leave this building until a suitor hears of your existence and comes for you, he’d yelled his declaration on Shi’Enz, and without remorse he threw Mathilda out of the Statham estate while Georgina soothed his angered heart with love.
