"We should not miss breakfast" she added intending to head for her luggage where she could pick a dress that actually fit.

"I am sorry" he whispered as he drew her into his arms.

She sniffed.

She missed him, her hero, her love. He alone knew all of her even when she doesn’t and might never know.

"You did nothing, this is how women go through it I read, only the lucky ones do not" she mumbled ntp his neck.

He pressed his forehead to hers. "We should leave" he invited. They could walk our of this Cotadel now, when they haven’t done too much damage to his Gooseberry.

But she shook her head. "No, we are stronger than that, I am" she cmfirmed, her resolve strong.

He gazed at her clear eyes, all she needed was him and she would be strange again. She had felt herself falling apart before he’d cane in earlier but now she felt she could fight the world, endure anything and be fine.

"Oh Lydia" he pressed a kiss to her lips before wiping the non existent tears away from her cheeks.

"Help me get ready?" she whispered meeting his sky blue.

He smiled. "Always"

She stepped out of his arms and moved towards their luggage chest, his arms falling behind.

"Where did you go?" she asked.

He ran his palm through his face before letting out a sigh. "I had a chat with Salvatore and I decided to bathe in my own damn chambers, I should have come back immediately after the chat" he frowned.

"You did not know that she would be here" Lydia assured him, her voice soft and understanding but Theodore shook his head, his face pinched in regret.

"But I knew she was viscous" he confessed, that should’ve been enough reason to be more cautious of her. He watched as Lydia stood up with a dress in hand, she slipped it on after making him reduce the tightness of the corset.

"Zips" she reminded of the gown and with a small smile he zipped up her dress, this one was soft and perfectly fit, he really hated Sandra more.

"We compliment each other" Theodore grinned.

She blushed and he loved that she reddened not out of pain but because he made her tingle.

"Come here" he mumbled, his eyes hooded.

"I love you but you can be stubborn" Theodore mumbled into her hair.

Lydia met his eyes with a playful glare. "They should never be a but"

"And Gooseberry is correct, they shall never be a ’but’ ever again" he promised with a smile, his eyes were dreamy as he watched her.

"Theodore loves you thouroughly" he added.

She pressed her lips before retorting. "And Lydia loves you like there is no any other option"

"No that is my line" Theodore geumbled, she shook her head as she started ahead.

"We are going to be late and she could breath flame" Lydia warned, her very strange updo of hair still up on her head.

"Because she is not the fire, we are!" Theodore growled.

"Theodore" she squealed her voice falling into laughter.

"Now let us go, my arms feel empty" Theodore invited, and without delay she placed her palm ln his arm, her heart full and ready.

"You have become really not Lord Theodore" she whispered.

With a slight frown he asked. "How so?"

"You are like an aspiring lord Theodore now, not the real one" she clarified.

Theodore merely shook his head at that, he had nothing to say in his defense.

But he believed he was the most Theodore and the Theodore he could’ve been this time than he’d been all of his lives.

"Here we go" Lydia whispered, her chest puffing, shoulders straight.

The couple hand in hand stepped out of their royal chambers and into the corridors moving for the dining hall where breakfast was to start. Maids followed.

In the end, Lydia emerged from the ordeal between her and Sandra stronger, she emerged bruised and broken, her spirit crushed beneath the weight of their callous indifference.

But Theodore rose it back, high and mighty, she felt she could now face them and even conquer a little world if it dares go against them.

As Lydia stepped out into the world, everyone who behled her saw a vision of grace and elegance, it was blinding yet soft, inviting but strong.

Lady Theodore, Lydia bore the scars of her morning ritual, a silent testament to the cruelty that lurked beneath the surface of her gilded existence but her face and demeanor was free of the fragile enemies.

Morning.

Critic Citadel, Critic-Ishire.

*****************

There was a vast expanse in the Citadel grounds, the royal training grounds, and this morning the morning the sun has cast a golden hue upon the towering spires of the castle, and that illuminated the disciplined figures of the royal knights as they engaged in their daily routine of rigorous exercise.

The air resonated with the clang of swords, the thud of boots against the earth, and the rhythmic grunts of exertion.

The knights, clad in gleaming armor that were adorned with the crest of the kingdom, moved with precision and grace as they practiced their swordsmanship.

Their movements fluid and purposeful.

Some knight’s sparred in pairs, the clash of steel rang out as they honed their combat skills, while others engaged in solo drills, their muscles rippling beneath their chainmail.

Amidst the seasoned warriors, a young black boy stood wide-eyed, his gaze darting from one knight to another in awe and fascination.

Tom, of the Theodore mansion.

He stood in the shadow of a towering Conan, his mentor, who had brought him to observe and learn from the training sessions.

His eyes sparkled with admiration as he watched the knights in action, their strength and skill leaving him mesmerized.

"That is us, the protecters" Conan pointed out with his chin.

Tom glance behind him before nodding.

"Remember, Tom, courage is when you have the strength to overcome fear, it is not the absence of fear," Conan added. "Life is a battle of it’s own, In battle and in life, you must face your fears with valor." his advice was softly spoken yet direct.

With a frown Tom responded. "Yes, mentor. But how do I know when to act with courage?"

"Trust in the process, these trainings, lad. The foundation of courage discipline and preparation are." Conan replied without glancing at him.

"Through rigorous training, you’ll build the confidence to face any challenge head-on." the knight said as he started to stroll around the grounds.

Tom nodded but he had more questions. "What about honor, sir? How do I ensure I always act with integrity?"

Conan paused before he resumed his steps. "Honor is the cornerstone of knighthood. But you might never be an actual knight, Working for Theodore alone is a honor, Always uphold your word, even when it’s difficult." he commented.

Then Conan tapped Tom’s shoulders, he had managed to be walking ahead of Conan, Tom paused in his steps and turned to him.

Conan held his brown eyes before he started. "Let your actions speak louder than words, and never compromise your principles for personal gain."

Without leaving his gaze Tom responded. "Thank you, mentor. Your guidance means everything to me."

"Remember, young squire, knighthood is not just about prowess in battle, but about the virtues you manifest every day. Aim to be not only a skilled warrior but a noble and honorable one."

Tom clenched his jaw in agreement.

Suddenly Conan has transformed into a stern yet compassionate figure in the eyes of Tom, he stood beside Tom, offering words of guidance and encouragement as they watched the training unfold before them.

He further went on to explain the intricacies of combat techniques just as he had told him about the importance of discipline, and the honor that came with being a knight of the realm.

As the morning wore on, Tom’s admiration only grew, his determination to one day be able to protect his people burning through him.

Inspired by the display of valor and camaraderie before him, he eagerly absorbed every lesson and demonstration.

One day he shall wear the knight attire, he thought mischievously.

Tom stood resolute, his determination etched upon his face as he joined the ranks of the noble knights in their daily training regimen.

He was clad in a simple tunic and trousers, he mirrored the movements of his mentor with unwavering focus and enthusiasm.

With each swing of his wooden sword, each leap over makeshift obstacles, and each sprint across the practice field, Tom embraced the challenges of the training with fervor.

Despite the discomfort of physical exertion, he relished the opportunity to test his limits, to push himself beyond what he thought possible.

Because Tom was surrounded by seasoned warriors so he immersed himself in the rhythm of the training, his muscles began to burn with exertion as he followed their lead with unwavering determination.

He sparred with fellow trainees, and even got compliment by some playful knights, his reflexes were sharp and his movements agile, he was eager to prove himself worthy of the knightly honor despite knowing he might never attain it.

As the sun climbed higher in the sky, and casted a warm glow upon the training grounds, Tom’s energy still never waned.

And with each passing hour, he grew stronger, more resilient, his spirit undaunted by the trials of the day.

He started to converse with his fellow trainees, forging bonds of friendship and solidarity in a place he might never return to.

Tom stood tall and proud, his heart filled with a sense of accomplishment by the time he had to leave because he had endured the severities of the day’s training with unwavering resolve, and he was happy he had emerged stronger and more determined than ever to pursue his dreams of becoming a protector.

He couldn’t wait to tell it to Gabriel.
