Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Recklessly Slinging the Blame
"Blood red, almost the same color as my heart, no wonder I couldn’t find where it was in my heart?"
Lan Wangxu, well-traveled and knowledgeable, didn’t react like most people would upon being saved. Instead, he looked at the insect in Qin Yi’s hand and uttered his amazement.
Qin Yi examined the insect in his palm.
"This is a Blood Immortal Poisonous Insect from the Miao Border. It starts off the size of a sesame seed, living off warm blood. It seems it’s been inside you for a long time."
Lan Wangxu admiredly looked at Qin Yi, "To be so young and yet possess such astonishing abilities, I am in awe."
Qin Yi smiled lightly. In the past, he wouldn’t have known what this was at all. It was all thanks to the Eye of Righteous and Evil that had forcibly given him the knowledge.
"Be careful, once this thing enters the body, it’s a fate worse than death," Lan Wangxu said with lingering fear.
Qin Yi chuckled, "It’s only because you’re so highly cultivated. If it were someone else, they’d probably be long gone."
Lan Wangxu stared dazedly at Qin Yi.
"What’s wrong?" Qin Yi asked with a smile.
"Qin Yi, no, I should call you senior, your cultivation is extraordinary, you’ve saved my life. Allow me to bow to you," Lan Wangxu struggled to sit up. With the insect removed, his condition was already improving.
Qin Yi hurriedly stopped him, smiling, "You’re an elder, how can you bow to me?"
Qin Yi has three things he does not accept: the bow of a soldier, the bow of a doctor, the bow of the virtuous.
"A master is one with great wisdom, your cultivation is so formidable it puts me to shame. Moreover, you’ve saved my life, it’s only right I bow to you." When Qin Yi examined him earlier, the aura was overwhelmingly strong, and the energy protecting his meridians was directly dispersed by Qin Yi’s energy.
Just as Qin Yi was about to speak, the insect in his palm suddenly changed. The originally blood-red insect turned golden, grew a shell, and flew off with a flap of its wings.
"Don’t let it get away," Lan Wangxu urgently exclaimed.
Qin Yi raised his hand, clawing the air, releasing a terrifying suction that directly pulled the insect back, trapping it in his palm.
Lan Wangxu’s mouth fell open, astonished at Qin Yi, "To materialize Qi like this, it is a technique of someone in the Foundation Establishment Stage."
Qin Yi was surprised, turning back, "What is this Foundation Establishment Stage?"
Lan Wangxu looked at Qin Yi suspiciously and said, "Only a strong practitioner at the Foundation Establishment Stage can release their energy outward."
Qin Yi felt exceedingly strange, though he knew he was only at the Early Stage of Qi Cultivation.
"What cultivation does the old man have?"
Lan Wangxu awkwardly replied, "I’ve practiced my whole life, used plenty of good medicine, yet I’m only at Qi Cultivation Perfection."
Hmm?
Qin Yi felt even stranger. He was at the early stage, yet Lan Wangxu was at Qi Cultivation Perfection. However, in his eyes, Lan Wangxu’s cultivation was insignificant.
It seems the cultivation he practices and what Lan Wangxu practices are entirely different types of Qi. His Qi is much stronger, surpassing not just one major realm.
Qin Yi reined in his thoughts; this matter could be slowly explored later.
"Old Lan, you should rest a bit, I’ll call Miss Lan in later."
"No need, let them in now. I want to see who tried to harm me," Lan Wangxu insisted.
Qin Yi nodded slightly, understanding why the old man, who spent his life practicing medicine and saving countless people, would be outraged by such treatment.
"Miss Lan, please come in," Qin Yi called out.
Lan Jiaojiao heard the call, pushed the door open, and ran in, followed by several others who had sneered downstairs earlier.
"Grandfather, how are you?" Lan Jiaojiao asked with concern.
"Dad, are you feeling better?"
"Dad, where did the blood on your chest come from? Is it this kid’s doing?"
"Grandpa, how are you? I’m so worried about you."
The crowd clamored with concern and worry.
"Speak, what have you done to my grandfather?" someone yelled at Qin Yi, harshly questioning.
Qin Yi couldn’t be bothered with them. What could he possibly do to an old man? What kind of baseless accusations are these?
"Everyone, shut up," Lan Wangxu roared with powerful vigor.
Standing at the back of the crowd, Lan Tianji suddenly looked at Lan Wangxu, his eyes filled with deep shock.
The crowd fell silent.
Lan Wangxu, his tiger-like eyes surveying them, said, "Who was disrespectful to Qin Yi downstairs just now? All of you, get over here and apologize."
Everyone’s faces changed, surprised, looking towards Qin Yi.
Qin Yi was slightly stunned as well, not expecting the old man’s first action to be this. Apparently, Lan Jiaojiao had already informed the old man about what had happened downstairs.
"What are you frozen for?" Lan Wangxu shouted.
Lan Jiaojiao’s lovely face broke into joyous surprise, she instantly reacted and exclaimed, "Grandfather, are, are you better?"
Lan Wangxu nodded slightly, "It’s all thanks to Qin Yi."
Everyone was astounded, not expecting this cripple to have really healed the old man.
The old man had been bedridden before, but now he could sit up, so he must truly be healed.
However, apologizing to a cripple was too embarrassing. Besides, they had just made a lot of mocking remarks, now apologizing would be like slapping themselves in the face, wouldn’t it?
Seeing no one move, Lan Wangxu’s face turned livid.
"Very well, no one wants to apologize, right? Those who don’t apologize can leave later. I will revise the family register, and their names won’t be on it anymore."
Everyone was aghast. Did this mean those who failed to apologize would be expelled from the Lan Family?
Lan Xingwang quickly stepped forward, approaching Qin Yi, and said stiffly, "Sorry!"
Qin Yi smiled and said, "No problem, concern can lead to chaos! But earlier, you said Old Lan couldn’t be saved, that’s not right. How can a son curse his own father? You mustn’t say things like that again."
Lan Xingwang’s face turned pale, glaring venomously at Qin Yi. When had he ever said such a thing?
Before he could argue, the old man roared, "You unfilial son, get to the side."
Lan Xingwang’s eyes seemed to wish he could devour Qin Yi.
The next was Lan Xingye, who approached Qin Yi with a more respectful demeanor, "Thank you for saving my father. I apologize for my earlier inappropriate remarks, please forgive me."
"No problem, given Old Lan’s condition at the time, as his son, it’s natural to buy him a coffin and plan a funeral. It’s understandable," Qin Yi said with a smiling face.
Lan Xingye almost spat out a mouthful of blood. When had he ever said anything like that?
"So, you all just wish for my death, is that it?" Lan Wangxu’s face turned a bluish hue with anger.
"Dad, I didn’t, he’s falsely accusing me."
"Get to the side and say one more word, and I’ll expel you from the Lan Family."
Lan Xingye shrank back, his neck drawn, retreating to the side, casting a look at Qin Yi as if wishing to eat him alive.
Everyone else looked at Qin Yi in horror. Not apologizing would mean being expelled from the Lan Family, but apologizing meant being falsely accused by Qin Yi. It was a hard, difficult situation.
Lan Jiaojiao looked at Qin Yi with a strange expression, his ability to assign baseless accusations was impressive.
Everyone was full of awkwardness, but they still had to apologize. Each stepped forward to apologize, full of horror, fearing that Qin Yi might label them with wrongdoing.
Most importantly, the old man wasn’t listening to any explanations. Dropping mud down the pants, whether it’s dirt or not, it’s dirt now.
However, Qin Yi didn’t trouble everyone equally, only focusing on a select few, like Lan Xingye, and Lan Jiaojiao’s third sister, among others.
Especially Lan Jiaojiao’s third sister, who received the biggest accusation from Qin Yi, angering Lan Wangxu so much he almost ordered to beat her.
