Chapter 445: Chapter 445: Where Is Your Sworn Brother?

The next morning!

Qin Yi and Liu Yiren left the hotel and took a taxi straight to the Cong Family.

Compared to other Guardian Families, the Cong Family estate was much smaller. This was because Stone City’s economy wasn’t very developed. Another reason was that the Cong Family didn’t possess any business talents.

The Cong Family also had very few Qi Refiners. Including Cong Yang’s father, the Family Head Cong Wanli, there were only five Qi Refiners in total.

However, because the Cong Family had a prodigy like Cong Yang, who was worth ten people, their reputation was quite significant in certain circles.

"Please inform them, Qin Yi is here to visit!"

The guard at the gate was just a regular bodyguard.

These bodyguards curiously sized up Qin Yi, for news had already spread from the night before about Qin Yi’s feat of downing two hundred bottles of beer.

"Mr. Qin, please wait a moment!"

One bodyguard snapped out of it and jogged inside the estate.

Soon, the returning bodyguard came out with a robust elderly man in his fifties.

The elder’s facial features resembled Cong Yang’s very much, so he was likely Cong Yang’s father, Cong Wanli.

"I am Cong Wanli. It’s an honor for us to have Daoist friend Qin Yi visit our Cong Family. Please forgive us for not welcoming you sooner!"

When they were still about twenty meters apart, Cong Wanli politely clasped his hands, but his voice was loud and vibrant, showing no signs of age.

Qin Yi chuckled softly. It seemed his guess was right; this was indeed Cong Wanli.

"The Family Head is too kind! I hope we haven’t disturbed you with our impromptu visit."

"How could that be? Daoist friend Qin Yi is a young talent renowned throughout Longxia. We are more than happy to have you at the Cong Family. Please, come in!" Cong Wanli said with a smile, gesturing warmly.

Qin Yi smiled and, along with Liu Yiren, followed Cong Wanli inside.

Once inside the villa, Qin Yi casually asked, "Did Cong Shao drink too much last night? Has he sobered up yet?"

Cong Wanli’s mouth twitched slightly, and his brows furrowed. Not only did his son drink too much last night, but he also made a fool of himself by swearing brotherhood with a dog. Although this couldn’t be entirely blamed on Qin Yi, he wasn’t completely blameless either.

To Cong Wanli, Qin Yi’s question seemed to have a teasing undertone.

Qin Yi smiled and said, "Please don’t misunderstand, Family Head Cong. It was just a casual question with no other intent. I also came to see Cong Shao. If he’s still asleep, I can wait."

These words made Cong Wanli feel much better.

"Cong Yang is having breakfast. If Daoist friend Qin Yi hasn’t eaten, I will have someone prepare something for you immediately."

Qin Yi glanced at the time; it was nearly noon. He smiled and said, "No need, we’ve already eaten."

"But I would still trouble Family Head Cong to take me to see Cong Shao."

Without saying much more, Cong Wanli nodded slightly, "Follow me then!"

Qin Yi and Liu Churan followed Cong Wanli to the dining room.

Oh my...

Qin Yi and Liu Yiren were stunned right on the spot.

On the large dining table was a whole roasted lamb. Cong Yang held a sharp broken blade, cutting off large chunks of meat and stuffing them into his mouth. Beside him was a large bowl filled with strong liquor, which Cong Yang occasionally gulped from.

"Cong Yang, Daoist friend Qin Yi is here!" Cong Wanli said.

Cong Yang glanced up at Qin Yi, his leopard-like eyes showing a hint of ferocity, then continued eating and drinking without acknowledging him.

Cong Wanli felt awkward and looked apologetically at Qin Yi. Qin Yi was not just anyone; he had the Azure Dragon Guardian God supporting him. Even if you don’t like him, shouldn’t you at least be subtle about it?

Qin Yi, however, didn’t mind. He casually walked up to the table and said, "Cong Shao, this is a bit too greasy for breakfast. Aren’t you worried about how your stomach will handle it?"

Cong Yang looked up at Qin Yi, slashed down with his broken blade, cutting off a lamb leg, then flipped the blade, sticking it into the table, almost piercing through it. Then, he grabbed the leg of lamb and started gnawing on it, his mouth covered in grease.

Liu Yiren frowned slightly. Watching him eat like this was almost nauseating.

Qin Yi chuckled at Cong Yang’s childish behavior, though he felt a bit sorry for the innocent table, which had been damaged for no reason.

Qin Yi grabbed a piece of roasted meat, tore it, and put it in his mouth, chewing thoughtfully: "Hmm, not bad."

"Who said you could touch my roast?" Cong Yang glared at him with his leopard eyes, as if ready to brawl with him over the lamb.

Qin Yi smirked, "I thought Cong Shao was a straightforward man, but I see you’re just a petty little man."

"What did you say? Say it again if you dare." Cong Yang glared at him, his face full of malice.

Qin Yi remained unfazed, sarcastically saying, "Didn’t Cong Shao say last night that if I beat you in drinking, we’d have something to talk about? Is this your way of talking?"

"No worries! After all, this is the Cong Family. If Cong Shao wants to play dirty, I can only accept it as bad luck."

Cong Yang was enraged, "Bullshit! We Cong Yang always keeps our word and never resorts to petty tricks."

Qin Yi smiled, "Good, then let’s talk."

"Talk about what?"

"Rest assured, it’s definitely not about wanting to date you."

Pfft...!

Cong Yang spat out the wine he had just sipped, looking at Qin Yi disdainfully, "You look so effeminate; don’t tell me you really have issues with your preferences?"

Qin Yi’s facial muscles twitched... and twitched again... as if they were dancing. He was just joking, but this guy had zero sense of humor.

Besides, even if he did like men, he would never like this hulking brute that even several guys couldn’t lift.

"Don’t worry! My preferences are perfectly normal. I’m already married, and I’m about to become a father of two."

Cong Yang sighed in relief, muttering, "That’s good, that’s good..."

Qin Yi’s handsome face turned dark.

Liu Yiren stifled her laughter. Qin Yi, with his stunning looks, was being rejected by such a rough guy.

Cong Yang picked up the lamb leg again and continued chomping, speaking indistinctly, "So what do you want to talk about? I’ll listen."

A mischievous smile flashed in Qin Yi’s eyes: "Cong Shao, where is your sworn brother from last night? Why isn’t he dining with you?"

With a sharp crack, Qin Yi’s words hit Cong Yang like a stab to the heart, and in his rage, he bit down and crushed the lamb bone.

Cong Yang didn’t spit the bone out. Instead, he chewed it with a fierce gaze at Qin Yi, as if he was grinding Qin Yi’s bones.

Damn it, this sly pretty boy dares to bring that up?

"Qin Yi, I think you’re itching to have your bones loosened up, huh?"

Qin Yi chuckled softly, "No, I want you to come with me."

"Where to?"

Qin Yi revealed his purpose for coming.

Cong Yang looked at him with disdain, "You think you can subdue all the strong ones on the rankings and bring them under your command? You’re dreaming. I’d advise you not to have such unrealistic hopes and to just go home and be a stay-at-home dad."
