Chapter 350: I Was Wrong
Chapter 350: Chapter 350: I Was Wrong
Qin Yi grew braver as the battle wore on.
With a sweeping Big Halberd, he was unstoppable.
The crowd became horrified, as fear is contagious.
When they realized that even ganging up couldn’t defeat Qin Yi, they began to feel terrified and slowly started to withdraw.
However, just as Qin Yi swept his Big Halberd across, sending four or five Qi Cultivators flying, he suddenly felt a chill down his back.
A knife shadow, as black as ink, descended with the force of thunder and the speed of lightning.
Qin Yi was slightly startled, not expecting such a strong opponent among the younger generation.
This blade even made him sense a trace of danger; the opponent’s cultivation was at least at the Great Perfection of the Foundation Establishment.
Such cultivation, among the younger generation, could be considered a genius among geniuses.
Qin Yi reacted swiftly, without moving his body, his Big Halberd stabbed backward in line with the momentum.
Boom!
The tip of the Big Halberd precisely hit the knife shadow, a purple light erupted, shattering the knife shadow instantly, a storm swept out, and the surrounding Qi Cultivators were directly blown away by the shockwave.
Whoosh!
A cold glint, accompanied by the sharp sound of cutting through the air, cunningly aimed at Qin Yi’s throat, just at the moment when he could not withdraw his Big Halberd.
Qin Yi’s eyebrows raised slightly, another strong opponent.
Shua!
Qin Yi’s figure blurred and shot backward, the Big Halberd in his hand transformed into a red glow and stabbed forward.
Clang!
The tip of the Big Halberd collided with the sword tip, producing a harsh metallic clashing sound, energy waves spread in circles, twisting the air.
The person who struck was directly flipped and flew back.
Woosh, woosh...!
The piercing sound of cutting through the air resounded, two cold glints shot explosively toward Qin Yi.
Qin Yi shook his Big Halberd, with two clangs, two over two-meter-long fine steel arrows were shaken off, embedded in the platform, penetrating dozens of centimeters into the wood, the arrow tails trembling incessantly.
Qin Yi frowned; there was a strong opponent.
"I didn’t expect such strong opponents hidden among the younger generation, truly Qin Yi was ignorant."
However, just as Qin Yi’s voice fell, he suddenly sensed something, slowly raised his hand, and a purple light erupted from his palm, extracting two strands of black qi from the arrows embedded in the platform.
Qin Yi’s lips pressed tightly in silence; it was demonic qi, the aura of a Soul-devouring Demon.
"Has Yinfeng City allowed demons to run amok?" Qin Yi’s face darkened, shouting sternly.
Demon?
Everyone was first stunned, and then it was a pandemonium.
Who is the demon?
Duan Xinyuan’s face changed slightly, and his figure flickered to the front of the platform, "Qin Yi, what’s going on?"
Qin Yi pointed his Big Halberd in three directions, "These three have been possessed by the Soul-devouring Demon."
Although he couldn’t see, having just exchanged blows, he accurately pointed out the three individuals.
Everyone looked in astonishment at the three pointed out by Qin Yi, subconsciously taking a few steps back.
Everyone present was from the Guardian Family or sects, and had heard about the Soul-devouring Demon.
Duan Xinyuan looked at the three Qin Yi pointed out; their appearance was ordinary, and they were all young, not much different from the others present, except they were wearing sunglasses.
"Take off your sunglasses." Duan Xinyuan sternly said to the three.
Being possessed by the Soul-devouring Demon could temporarily be distinguished from the eyes.
The three exchanged a glance, smiling slightly, but the smile was strangely inexplicable.
"Aren’t you sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong? Is it illegal to wear sunglasses because of the glaring sun?" one of them said grimly.
Duan Xinyuan was about to speak when Qin Yi coldly said, "Here, I call the shots. If I tell you to take off your sunglasses, you must comply, or else... die!"
The crowd buzzed!
Qin Yi was too domineering.
However, it was undeniable now that Qin Yi had the right to be domineering and arrogant.
"Qin Yi, as arrogant as ever." One of them sneered, then slowly took off his sunglasses.
A commotion erupted in the crowd.
His eyes lacked whites, the eyeballs like two balls of swirling black qi.
Subsequently, the other two also removed their sunglasses, all the same, featureless and dark-pit like eyes.
Demon-possessed.
Everyone present were Qi Cultivators, immediately realizing that these three were possessed by the Soul-devouring Demon.
"I had intended to kill you amid chaos, but Qin Yi, I must admit, your life is really tough."
Qin Yi’s expression did not change in the slightest, coldly saying, "Do you have a grudge against me?"
"Indeed, how quickly you forget, or have you killed so many that you don’t even know the sins you’ve committed?"
"We indeed have a blood feud."
Qin Yi chuckled disdainfully, "Do remind me, because as you said, I’ve killed so many, genuinely unaware of any grudge between us?"
"My name is Diao Cheng."
Diao Cheng?
Family name Diao?
Qin Yi asked in surprise, "Are you from the Diao Family?"
"That’s right! Qin Yi, you massacred the Diao Family, left as you pleased, making us fall from grace, from untouchable rulers to ants everyone could bully. We wish to eat your flesh and drink your blood."
Diao Cheng’s voice was filled with endless resentment, frightening to hear.
However, the surrounding Qi Cultivators were horrified, realizing Qin Yi had wiped out the Diao Family.
The higher-ups suppressed the matter, and the news hadn’t spread, so most were unaware.
Qin Yi let out a slight sigh, "I was wrong!"
Diao Cheng sneered twistedly, "Now you realize your mistake? Too late. Today, we demand blood for blood."
"You’ve misunderstood!" Qin Yi said coldly, "By mistake, I mean I once again erred on the side of mercy. I should’ve left none the last time—none of your Qi-refining Diao Family members should have been spared."
"Out of consideration you were mere ordinary people, I let you live. Unexpectedly, you’re ungrateful enough to stoop to become the puppets of a Soul-devouring Demon."
Diao Cheng’s face twisted grotesquely, laughing sinisterly, "So what if it’s the Soul-devouring Demon? It granted us immense power and a chance for revenge. We willingly serve, gladly becoming its puppets."
Qin Yi sighed gently, "Isn’t living good? Why seek death so eagerly? Hard to fathom why you people are so reckless with your lives. Have you forgotten life is one-time, no do-overs?"
Diao Cheng’s face showed reverence, "The mighty Soul-devouring Demon granted us new life, making us strong. We won’t die. But Qin Yi, you’ll pay dearly for your actions."
"Won’t die?" Qin Yi’s lips curled into a sinister grin.
Whoosh!
Qin Yi turned into a stream of light soaring out, the Flood Dragon Spear in his hand transformed into a red light, thrusting towards Diao Cheng.
Diao Cheng’s body surged with black qi, his longsword sang, black qi coursed over it, stabbing out like a lightning, with a hissing sound like a Poison Snake flicking its tongue, aimed straight at Qin Yi’s throat.
Swish!
With a sound like a blade slicing through leaves, Diao Cheng’s sword easily pierced through Qin Yi’s throat.
Everyone’s faces turned drastically pale in shock.
Qin Yi had fallen, his throat cut by Diao Cheng’s sword.
Before, though they were defeated by Qin Yi in one move, they only suffered minor injuries. But Qin Yi’s defeat meant losing his life.
