Chapter 123 Clues

Chapter 123: Chapter 123 Clues

Qin Yi’s heart was growing increasingly anxious. If something happened to Qin Wan’er, what would it matter even if he truly became a god?

"Qin Yi, Zhiping wants us to go to the surveillance room," Yan Yutong said after hanging up the phone.

Qin Yi and Yan Yutong hurried to the surveillance room.

"Qin Yi, look at this footage," Dong Zhiping instructed the staff to display a segment of video.

The footage was from after school, students were coming out of the school gate one after another, and Qin Yi saw Qin Wan’er’s figure.

Qin Wan’er walked out of the campus, looking around, seemingly searching for something, possibly Yutong’s car.

Just then, a man wearing a black jacket and a baseball cap got out of a black Jetta car and walked straight to Qin Wan’er. The two talked for a while, and Qin Wan’er got into the car with him.

Because the man wore a cap, only half of his face was visible.

When the Jetta left, Yutong’s car appeared in the footage, arriving just moments after the other car left.

"Zoom in on that person," Qin Yi said in a deep voice.

Even though the footage was zoomed in, the man was wearing a baseball cap, making it hard to see his face, but there was a black dot at the corner of his mouth, likely a mole.

"Do you recognize this person?" Qin Yi asked.

Dong Zhiping and others shook their heads.

Qin Yi’s heart sank, and he took a picture of the footage with his phone.

"Find this person for me, no matter what," Qin Yi nearly roared.

Qin Yi called Zhang Wenhao, Liu Zhanyuan, and Jin Wenchang, then sent the video to them.

"Even if you have to turn over all of Yinfeng City, find this car and this person. I will give fifty million to whoever finds my sister. Even for a lead, I will give ten million."

With Qin Yi’s order, the entire underground world of Yinfeng City was in turmoil, and all the big and small thugs rose into action.

Liu Zhanyuan and Dong Zhiping also deployed all their resources.

Qin Yi’s gaze was ice-cold; no matter who it was, even if they were a god, they would be dead.

Qin Yi’s whole body exuded a surge of evil qi, stirring up the air around him, an imposing and frightening aura.

In just a dozen minutes, Zhang Wenhao called to say that they had found the car.

But several hours passed, and there was no further news.

Suddenly, Qin Yi’s phone rang. It was Liu Zhanyuan calling.

"Mr. Qin, I just found out that in just the past week, more than a dozen girls have disappeared in Yinfeng City. The police have sealed off the news to avoid causing panic."

Qin Yi’s heart sank, "Keep talking."

"The missing girls have a common trait: they are all college students but not from the same school. These girls disappeared from the entrance of their schools, similar to what happened to Miss Wan’er, all getting into different cars and then vanishing without a trace."

Qin Yi’s eyes were as dark as water, "Find them, even if you have to turn over all of Yinfeng City."

"Mr. Qin, we found that car." Two hours later, Jin Wenchang called.

Qin Yi, Dong Zhiping, and others immediately drove to the location Jin Wenchang mentioned.

It was a public parking lot, and the black Jetta was parked in a corner.

Jin Wenchang hurried to pay his respects when he saw Qin Yi.

Qin Yi waved his hand dismissively; there was no time for formalities now. In a deep voice, he said, "Tell me the situation directly."

Jin Wenchang shivered slightly, "I checked the car; there was nothing inside. I checked the nearby surveillance, but it was all destroyed."

Bam!

Qin Yi, in a fit of rage, slammed the hood of the Jetta, denting it instantly.

Jin Wenchang felt a chill all over, lowered his head, and dared not utter a sound.

Just standing next to Qin Yi, one could feel the sharp and deadly aura exuding from him like invisible blades, making one shiver with cold.

"Find, just find her. Before dawn, I must locate Wan’er," Qin Yi roared in a low voice.

Deep into the night, midnight.

But until now, there was still no news about Qin Wan’er.

The hostility in Qin Yi’s heart was growing, even he hadn’t noticed, an eerie crimson appeared in his eyes.

"Mr. Qin, there’s been news. My people have seen the man in the photo at the East Suburb," Zhang Wenhao called at one in the morning.

Qin Yi immediately met up with Zhang Wenhao.

After meeting, a young, skinny man, under twenty, was with Zhang Wenhao.

Zhang Wenhao, seeing Qin Yi, respectfully said, "Master, this is Yang Jing, and he’s the one who saw the man in the video."

Yang Jing seemed to be seeing such a significant figure for the first time, hanging his head and looking a bit terrified.

"Don’t be afraid, just tell me what you know," Qin Yi said.

Yang Jing said in a trembling voice, "I saw that man not far from our home, dressed exactly the same. I recognized the mole at the corner of his mouth."

"Where is next to your house? Take us there," Qin Yi said in a deep voice.

Yang Jing lived in the East Suburb, far from the city center, essentially in a rural area, where every household lived in a courtyard house.

An hour later, the car stopped on a dirt road in the East Suburb.

Yang Jing pointed at a courtyard house in the distance and said tremblingly, "I saw that man enter that courtyard."

"Master, I’ll go check the situation first," Zhang Wenhao said.

Qin Yi said in a deep voice, "No, you all wait here for me."

With those words, Qin Yi directly pushed open the car door and got out.

Dong Zhiping, Jin Wenchang, Zhang Wenhao, everyone was dumbfounded, speechless.

Because Qin Yi was walking.

Qin Yi, who had always sat in a wheelchair, suddenly walking was truly shocking.

"I was always curious why such an immortal-like figure as the master would be in a wheelchair?" Zhang Wenhao mumbled in disbelief.

Dong Zhiping stared blankly, "We should have realized it earlier; how could someone like him not be able to walk?"

"Then why did the master sit in a wheelchair?" Jin Wenchang asked, puzzled.

Zhang Wenhao said, "The master’s actions are naturally different from ordinary people. Let’s not delve into it; just do our jobs well."

The few of them hunched their shoulders, not daring to make a sound.

Qin Yi walked towards the distant courtyard house. In the darkness, the air was turbulent, swirling around Qin Yi and then dispersing.

Qin Yi squinted slightly; Qin Wan’er was nearby. He captured a familiar scent from the air, one that belonged to Qin Wan’er.

The distant courtyard seemed to have been there for years; it was made of red bricks and blue tiles, with a red brick wall over three meters high, looking to occupy a large area.

In such a remote place, there were no streetlights. At this hour, people were long resting; besides, each household was far apart, with only the occasional sound of a barking dog.

Qin Yi arrived in front of the courtyard, lightly tapped his foot, and leaped over the three-meter-high wall, landing silently in the yard.

The moon was bright tonight, and combined with Qin Yi’s remarkable eyesight, he could clearly see everything within the courtyard.

This courtyard was indeed large, covering over an acre, with five rooms in the main building, three in the side wing, a cement ground paved with red bricks in the middle of the courtyard, and chicken coops and vegetable patches on the sides, a typical layout for a rural family courtyard.
