Chapter 1429 - Chapter 1429 Chapter 1429 Meeting the Old Master
Chapter 1429: Chapter 1429: Meeting the Old Master Chapter 1429: Chapter 1429: Meeting the Old Master Enna Clark was dexterous with her hands and feet; she quickly prepared a serving of Tomato and Egg Noodles.
The housekeeper had been watching by her side; seeing that she was finished, he immediately said, “Ms. Clark, it’s too hot. Let me carry it.”
“It’s okay, I can carry it. I’ve insulated it with a plate.” He was already of advanced age, and Enna Clark didn’t feel right letting him carry it for her, insisting on doing it herself.
After the housekeeper had insisted a few times and she did not yield, he stopped being polite and let her carry the bowl, leading the way ahead.
Even though Old Master Lawrence’s trip was low-key, it was still impossible for him to stay in an ordinary room; hence, he was accommodated in the Presidential Suite.
Enna Clark took the elevator and, led by the housekeeper, made her way into the Presidential Suite.
As soon as she entered, she saw someone with a pale face, hurriedly leaving the suite. Enna Clark couldn’t help but take a second glance; she felt that person looked familiar, but couldn’t recall where she had seen him.
The housekeeper seemed unsurprised, pushing the door open for her and saying, “Ms. Clark, please come in.”
“Okay.” Enna Clark carried in the Tomato and Egg Noodles.
The style of the Presidential Suite was still in the European-style palace theme that Old Master Lawrence preferred. The hotel room was very spacious, and the view of the entire city was visible from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Compared to the seaside resort, it had a different style.
Old Master Lawrence was sitting on the sofa by the floor-to-ceiling windows; she wasn’t sure if it was an illusion, but Enna felt that his complexion didn’t look very good, as if he was seething with anger.
As she approached, his angry expression softened, and it was impossible to discern his true emotions. He greeted her casually, “You’re here?”
“Yes, Grandpa.” Enna Clark placed the Tomato and Egg Noodles before him, “The noodles are ready; please enjoy them while they’re hot, Grandpa.”
Old Master Lawrence still felt a suppressing anger in his chest and had initially lost his appetite.
Looking at the golden Egg Noodles before him, he, who was accustomed to exquisite dishes, didn’t know why but suddenly felt an appetite.
His face softened a bit, and he picked up the chopsticks and began to eat.
The taste was somewhat bland, but not unacceptably so; the noodles were also prepared softly and eating them was indescribably comforting.
He leisurely finished the egg in the bowl, ate some tomato and noodles, and when half was left, he set down his chopsticks and elegantly wiped the corners of his mouth with the napkin beside him. Looking up, he commented, “Mediocre.”
The housekeeper, fearing Enna would take it seriously, tried to smooth things over, “Ms. Clark, don’t mind what the Old Lord says; what you made must be very delicious. This is the most he has eaten in a while.”
Old Master Lawrence glared at him, reprimanding, “Too much talk!”
Then he asked Enna Clark, “How is Baron’s recovery coming along?”
Enna Clark knew he would ask her this and tried to provide as much detail as possible, “The doctor has examined him and said that his wounds are all superficial; as long as he takes good care of himself for a few days, he will recover. Young Master Sinclair also did an examination and came to the same conclusion, saying he was very lucky not to have sustained severe injuries. The reason he passed out was simply due to losing too much blood. These past two days, Baron Lawrence has recovered a lot and has already been able to get out of bed and move around. I estimate in a few days he will have completely recovered.”
Old Master Lawrence’s stern expression eased somewhat, “That’s good to hear.”
Enna Clark thought he would take this opportunity to settle scores with her, considering that Baron Lawrence got hurt while saving her. But Old Master Lawrence did not seem to have any intention of bringing it up, so she moved her lips but decided not to bring it up needlessly.
What if, upon her mention, the Old Master asked her to leave Baron? Would she really leave him?
Since she would not, there was no need for pretense!
