Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart -
Chapter 1400 - Chapter 1400 Chapter 1400 Where Did You Go
Chapter 1400: Chapter 1400: Where Did You Go! Chapter 1400: Chapter 1400: Where Did You Go! Her delicate face darkened, and with enduring accusation, she blamed Enna Clark, “Enna, what do you mean by this? Are you saying you want to replace me? I am your cousin!”
“I know the Habsden Family found you, and your identity is different now, but you can’t be so ungrateful. My grandpa and my mom never treated you poorly, especially Grandpa. You’ve risen to prominence, and we haven’t basked in your glory; all I wanted today was to catch up with you. You wouldn’t even let me have a sip of water, and you keep mocking and jeering at me; isn’t that too much?”
Enna Clark waited for her to finish before responding, “I am suggesting that if you are truly that delicate, then let someone else act. If you think I’m mocking and jeering, I can’t help it.”
Before Miranda Lewis could continue to bring up Michelle Lewis and Grandpa, Enna carried on, “As for you saying you haven’t basked in my glory, it shows you have a short memory. Don’t forget who pulled you out of the Yluria Country casino.”
“That was… Young Master Lawrence,” Miranda began to say.
But she swallowed her words before they left her mouth.
Enna Clark had not known her for just one day; even if Miranda didn’t speak out, Enna could guess what she was about to say with almost perfect accuracy, and her gaze grew even more distant and cold, “Also, you talk about my ingratitude, you can go ask your mom what she’s done! Why she dares not bask in my glory!”
Michelle Lewis had once used her grandpa’s life to threaten her into asking Baron Lawrence for help, pushing things to the extreme. Since then, presumably with some self-awareness of what she had done, Michelle hadn’t contacted her.
Enna hadn’t expected Miranda to bring it up today.
“But no matter what, my mom is still your auntie, having been your auntie for twenty years. Even without a blood relationship, there’s no difference from a real aunt. And there’s Grandpa; Grandpa was so good to you, you should at least consider his feelings and not be so calculating,” Miranda said, her voice betraying her guilty conscience. After Michelle had told her how she had threatened Enna, Miranda lost her sense of righteousness once Enna made things clear.
“So what do you think I should do?”
“At least speak to Young Master Lawrence on my behalf and let me stay,” Miranda pleaded.
Seeing that she was still persistent, Enna’s gaze turned completely cold, and with an air of scorn for even glancing at her another time, she said, “It seems you didn’t hear me clearly just now. If you truly can’t act, I can call someone else right now.”
With that, she took out her phone.
Miranda’s face went pale when she saw Enna was serious.
She had fought hard to snatch the advertisement from a group of female stars for tomorrow, paying quite a ‘price.’ If Enna really called to have her replaced, her efforts during this period would have been in vain. Even with a heavy heart, Miranda stopped her, “I can act! I can act!”
Enna put down her phone.
“Enna, I won’t bother you any longer,” Miranda said, her heart full of resentment as she forced a smile, “I’ll go pack my bags, goodbye. If you have time tomorrow, let’s have a drink together.”
Enna didn’t answer.
It was equivalent to a refusal.
Miranda clenched her fists tightly, and reluctantly turned to leave…
Enna Clark watched her walk away before entering the villa.
Her previously good mood had turned gloomy because of Miranda’s interruption.
No sooner had she stepped inside than the person already sitting on the sofa spoke up discontentedly, “Where did you run off to? Why haven’t you been seen for so long!”
