Chapter 1344 - Chapter 1344 Chapter 1344 Slap in the Face
Chapter 1344: Chapter 1344: Slap in the Face Chapter 1344: Chapter 1344: Slap in the Face Enna Clark returned to the Planning Department, where the aftermath of the previous shock still lingered, leaving many people unable to recover their senses.
Upon seeing Enna again, everyone’s gaze had shifted–the previous onlooker’s curiosity was now entirely replaced by awe, fear, and alienation!
After all, the colleague who had seemed inconspicuous beside them had suddenly become the ‘President’s Wife.’ Anyone would struggle to accept such a change.
The entire floor of the Planning Department was dead silent, with only the faint sound of Luna’s soft sobs permeating the air.
Enna acted as if she was oblivious to this strange atmosphere and returned to her desk, beginning to pack up her things.
She had only been there for less than three days, so in reality, she didn’t have much to pack.
Aside from her personal laptop, a small potted plant, and a mug, she had hardly any other belongings.
She neatly packed her belongings into a cardboard box, tidied it all up, and picked it up to prepare to leave for the 88th floor.
But before she could leave, a figure lunged in front of her, tears streaming down as she clutched Enna’s arm, “Enna, I know I was wrong, I apologize to you, I apologize, I’m sorry, can you ask President Lawrence not to fire me?”
The person holding onto her arm, if not Luna, then who?
Enna frowned slightly and indifferently pulled away her hand, calmly stating, “Whether you are fired or not is not for me to decide, and, furthermore, the President didn’t fire you because of me. President Lawrence’s reason for firing you is that you spread rumors and slandered your colleagues at the company.”
Luna, with her red-rimmed eyes, could not listen, “You’re lying! It’s clearly because you made President Lawrence fire me, making it sound so righteous. If you don’t want to help, that’s fine, but why pretend to be so hypocritical?”
Enna truly became angry, her clear eyes coldly addressing her in response, “Why should I help you? To put it bluntly, I am not your mom, nor your dad, and I have no reason to forgive you unconditionally. You admitted it yourself, you spread rumors and tarnished my reputation behind my back. Do you think that just saying sorry means I have to forgive you, tolerate you, be touched and weep, and then turn around to help you?”
Luna was at a loss for words, wanting to retort yet unable to find the words, and she felt an inadequacy in Enna’s gaze.
Enna continued, “You are not a young child who can excuse their wrongdoings with ignorance. You are an adult, and I believe you are well aware of what you’ve been doing. When you did it, you should have thought of the consequences, yet you went ahead anyway, showing you were ready to face the repercussions of your actions. If I were you, I would stand by what I did, instead of coming to apologize only when it’s time to take responsibility. You say I’m hypocritical for not helping you, but don’t you think it’s even more hypocritical for you to still not recognize your own mistake and yet put on a pretense of apologizing and asking for my help?”
The entire Planning Department was as silent as if mute, like they had been struck still, no one uttering a word.
During her days in the Planning Department, Enna had always maintained the image of being good-natured and taciturn.
It was the first time the people in the Planning Department had witnessed her speak so much, and only then did they realize the sharpness of her words.
Luna was completely taken aback, speechless, her tears momentarily forgotten.
Enna, unwilling to continue the conversation, picked up her box and walked past her, heading out…
