Limitless The Strongest Revenant -
Chapter 1045 - 1045: I am a what? [2/2]
How in the world did the girls even think of something like this? Here I thought Jo was just playing around when she was, in fact, already preparing for our war in Antarctica. Suddenly, rather than getting angry, I felt pity for the elder instead.
I had {Mind Shield} and Jo could still influence me in a way. With the entire toolbox she had on how to manipulate someone, there wasn't even a need to use {Echo}. She could have just straight-up ordered him with {Thrall}.
"Ha, ignore him. Amari, Olamide. I lost interest. Kill him, throw him out; I don't care."
The large stone minotaur and gorilla in front of me both lowered their heads as they answered.
"Understood." X2
Bella went "offline" again, returned to her body and joined us. The girls came to me with mischievous faces. Then they all embraced me as they rained kisses on my face. After our lip orgy finished, I spoke to Jo with a conflicted expression.
Sensing my gaze, the Italian made a bright smile and grinned even more. Now that I knew that [Cipher] was something we had, there was no need to even keep secrets while we were with others.
"Jo, Exa just told me about [Cipher]. Should I thank you for being called a prostitute?"
At my words, my entire harem began to laugh out loud.
"Hahaha, Beloved, forgive me. It sounded so amusing; I had to agree. Do not worry, I would never give you to anyone. The Sirens will be your only customers."
"Fufu, Dearest, you should really consider joining the profession. I will ensure you never want for anything."
"Hahaha! You should have seen the look on your face, Possum! I knew choosing a prostitute was better than all the other scenarios!"
"Hehehe, Darling is so cute! You're welcome! I had so much fun playing with the voices. It was like I was a goddess of sound! The African civil war is practically guaranteed!"
"Honey, I sent you the recording. This is what the elders heard. [Cipher] will allow us to manipulate the ones who join us in Antarctica."
"Husband, just imagining you to be at my beck and call gave me butterflies. I'm sorry for giving in to my sadistic tendencies; I should have stopped Jo."
"Ara ara! Shujin wouldn't mind being a gigolo, so long as we are your customers, right? Although, considering how amazing you are in bed, even my wealth would not suffice."
Hearing their responses, I could only smile. My ego was no longer so fragile that I would blow a gasket from being called a manwhore. With the amount of stuff I had to do, I had no time to even respond to such people.
The girls and I flirted a bit more before Lilly clapped her hands to call everyone's attention.
"The calibrations for gates number two and number three are complete. From this point on, human targets will use gate number one. Alpha will use gate number two. The prince units will use gate number three."
"YES, MY LADY!" everyone else answered.
The 1st enthralled unit quickly went their way. The Awakened and the Wolves also began to deploy. The girls on kidnap duty discussed a few more things before they all left as well.
With nothing to do, I resumed my work to restore the corpses the Sirens left behind. I had to finish before the girls brought in more. I invoked {Day by Day} and called fully-automatic weapons. Using rounds powered by my Kismet, I brought more of the reaper bodies back to full health.
But then Amari called out to me, "Limitless, do you mind if we use the gates again? We have 13 more princes to go to. I only have until tonight, and there's no way I can make it in time if I run or even fly."
"Sure, I don't mind. Exa, does the third gate have slots for deployment?"
[It does, my lord. The enthralled units only use a pair of {portals} each. We can leave one open for Prince Amari's use.]
"Okay," I then faced the gorilla and gestured to gate number three. "Good luck."
He nodded and quickly made his way. But this time, even the new princes joined his party. Only Olamide stayed behind. Funnily enough, he took a seat close to me like a bodyguard. Zanele and her aides also left the Africans and joined me.
"Successor, may we please join you?"
"I don't see why not. I am working, though."
"That is fine," Zanele said with a smile.
As I shot more people back to life, the Immortal's woman fidgeted and looked restless. Even the ones beside her were the same.
"Something on your mind, Zanele?"
"I-I uhm…"
I gave her a moment and just waited. Despite looking busy, I really wasn't. There were only so many ways to shoot a pile of corpses until it became a chore. I was half tempted to let Exa do it with [Dual Pilot]. But as she resumed her sabotaging operations, I didn't.
"Successor. I am about to make a selfish request."
"Hmm?"
"Can you please change your mind about the Civil War? I beg of you. I thought it had to be done. But, seeing what Hellsend can do, I know there is another way," she pleaded.
Technically, her words were true. Given our abilities, we didn't even need the Civil War. We could just brainwash the weaker princes as we did with the enthralled. As for the stronger princes, we didn't even need to fight them.
With the Gates of Irkalla, we could just send them to the North, or deep to the bottom of the ocean. The only real reason we wanted them to fight each other was to keep the other Specters occupied. We had to make sure none of them would bother us.
Bella was closely monitoring the forty Specters guarding the continent. Their heroic acts and insane battle prowess prevented the demons from invading from outside. It was only because some of the princes were lazy as fuck that tragedies like Kismayo happened.
Africa's tech infrastructure on the other hand was rendered useless. So, without soulgear dedicated to coms, Africa's reapers couldn't respond to our attack on the City of the Dead. This meant one thing: we could proceed even without the civil war.
"Yes, that is right. But why should I?"
"Huh?" Zanele replied in confusion.
"Why should I spare them? They are part of Onye's group. Let's say we brainwash them instead; would forever being a puppet of Hell's Eden be a better outcome for you, Zanele? Is staying alive with no free will better than death?"
"I-I…"
I wasn't trying to be an ass to her; I really was just curious. Leaving them alive to plot their revenge was not an option. So, the only choices for Onye's party were death or being enthralled. Personally, I would prefer the former; at least I would still be me.
"Lady Zanele is right, my lord. It is in your best interest to spare them," another voice added; it was someone whom I had forgotten even existed. It was Pierre. The African Frenchman from Mauritius; this might be the only time I had heard him speak since we came here.
"Explain," I demanded.
Pierre Lemoine bowed before nodding. "Even during hostile takeovers of monarchies, it's rare for a new king, even a tyrant, to kill all the nobles. Doing so cripples the leadership structure. It would be putting the cart before the horse."
As I had no idea what he was even trying to say, I just glared at him. Pierre then simplified it in terms I could understand quickly.
"My lord, if you wish to wield Africa as a weapon immediately, you need to keep as many of them alive as possible. In my opinion, leaving them alive and brainwashed is a far better punishment than simply being killed."
"Ho? Ignoring the comment about punishment, you know nothing of what I intend to do. What are you basing your guesses on?" I retorted.
"Because you came here for your family," he answered with a resolute expression.
It was something. The man before me was nothing like the one I picked up in Kismayo. Interested in his change, I probed further.
"Tell me more," I asked with a smile.
