Limitless The Strongest Revenant -
Chapter 1037 - 1037: Terrifying [2/2]
Thud! The sounds of objects hitting the ground broke me from my reverie. It came from the Sirens. They were pulling people out of their subspace storages. The bodies began to pile up as broken corpses lay one atop another.
They were all Reapers. There were already several dozen, but the bodies still kept coming. The Africans all gasped at the disturbing sight. Yet I, on the other hand, gained new insights.
'Ho? So, you can't put dead humans or zombies. But you can put dead reapers? Interesting.'
But before I could delve deeper into the new finding, Exa's announcement rang out.
[Targets 61, 74, 52, 59, and 46 have been chosen. My ladies, please prepare for your second round of rapid deployments.]
Aki, Robyn, Liv, and Jas, without much fanfare, all turned towards the Gate of Irkalla and leapt into it. Lilly quickly ran towards me, gave me a hug and a kiss before putting on her own weird-looking mask.
"Dearest, I take my leave."
"Yeah. Be careful, Lilly; I love you."
"And I you. Fufu, only you would say such words to a Specter."
My princess then kissed me with her mask on before blinking away. By the time I noticed, she was already gone. I looked up the videos, and Lilly had also been deployed to kidnap a prince.
I then felt a heavenly softness on my arm. Along with a comfortable warmth. A pair of lips kissed my cheek, overflowing with affection.
"Darling! Darling! Can you please heal these Reapers? They will still remain useful!"
Jo excitedly cheered as she clung to me. I took a look at the corpses and noticed that most of them no longer had their soulgems on. Meaning these Reapers were effectively "dead." The only thing {Restore} could do was heal the bodies.
'Darling! Please heal them for Bella. We are going to have them join the Aegis Division while the Africans watch.'
Understanding the implications of Jo's request, I nodded. She parted from me with a cheerful smile. I took out Ebony and Ivory and began to work.
"Exa."
[{Restore} rounds loaded. You may begin.]
Hearing my AI's words, I proceeded to shoot the corpses. Each time I did, the bodies healed. Then they all began to stand up. Eerily, the flesh puppets began to organize themselves into orderly rows.
The puppets had blank expressions, so it looked like something out of a horror movie. But rather than express my thoughts, I continued to bring back the almost 60 Reapers that the girls had piled up.
Normally, it was pointless to do this. After all, what was the point of having Reaper corpses when their soulgems were already gone? The fact that the girls destroyed them all meant none of them were useful. So why bring back the bodies, you ask?
Well, as mentioned, much like everyone's soulgear, Bella's {Instigator} also leveled up. If before it had an upper limit of 1,500 puppets. At level 6, it now could control 5,000. The several upgrades Bella and my children got raised her limit.
'How is the sight of them standing together like soldiers, Mr. Code? I had to practice that a lot until I got it to the point that it looked creepy as hell.'
Hearing the thoughts of my Brazilian bombshell, I smiled.
'Terrifying. I would have shat myself if anyone but you were controlling them, Mrs. Code. Are you sure you're not pushing yourself?'
'Aist! Stop being such a worrywart. I can handle it, okay? [Army of the Couch Potato] has Exa helping with the Aegis division. I barely have 3,000 bodies at the moment.'
'Hahaha, that {Program} name still is funny as hell, Bella. You sure you don't want to change it?'
'Why? Doesn't it make you smile? It fits my theme. And it would be embarrassing to hear that you got killed by something called the Army of the Couch Potato.'
'I would have to agree. Just don't overdo it, okay, Bella?'
'How doting! Not that I like it or anything! Haha, anyway, back to work!'
Though Bella chatted excitedly with me over her link, her body remained still as a sculpture. I didn't like seeing her like this. There were far too many sci-fi stories about people becoming digital and leaving their flesh bodies.
'Sigh, I just need to do my best,' I lamented inwardly.
As I was busy shooting "alive" the reaper corpses, the ones actually still alive stood awkwardly around. They didn't even bother to run and were like sheep trembling before wolves.
"Okay everyone! Thank you for waiting! Now for the fun part! We brought you all here to have you start a rebellion against Onye! Let's get started!" Jo beamed.
At her words, the kidnapped princes all began to stir. One of them stepped forward as he retorted.
"You must be crazy! Onye will kill us all! He has orchestrated the deaths of those who stood against him! Just kill me now! That would be far less painful!"
There were always people who loved making such dramatic, over-the-top claims. These would be the same people who would not desperately struggle when they drowned. Unfortunate for him. My Italian lover had no fucks to give.
"HAHAHAHA! I wasn't asking for your opinion! {Thrall}!"
Even without her domain, Jo released a vast amount of soul. It was so thick I could practically see green rivers of wispy smoke covering all the Africans who were abducted like mist.
Like gases, the green fog entered their nostrils and ears. The eyes of the Reapers then turned green and began to glow. All emotion from their faces disappeared. Much like the corpses I was reviving, the Africans looked just as dead.
In the silence, Jo clapped her hands together as she cheered.
"Alright! Onye is your enemy. He raped your wives, killed your kids, burned your estates to the ground, and butchered your pets! He is evil, and you all would rather die than let him win. I, Josephine, am your leader and closest ally. Right! That should be enough for now!"
Jo then snapped her fingers. In an instant, the glowing green eyes all suddenly dimmed. As if they were shaken, the kidnapped princes and their people began to move.
"Lady Josephine? Where are we?" "Wait, enough about that! Lady Josephine! Onye must be stopped! He is a monster!" "He killed my dog just a while ago! I will have his blood!" "He is a weed! That must be pulled out!" "Yeah! Let's kill him!" "Lady Josephine!"
Jo then crossed her arms and furrowed her brows.
"I know you all are angry, but it's dangerous, you know? He's powerful; you all might die. Are you sure?"
At her words, the brainwashed Africans all began to clamor.
"It's okay! So long as he is dead!" "My life no longer has a purpose! I am fine with dying!" "If it means I get to make him suffer! Then it will be a good death!" "I am prepared, Lady Josephine!"
Those of us who were of the right mind all held our breath. Rebellions often happened once the population's will turned on its leader. And while traditional means could incite such movements, it usually took time.
Jo's simple demonstration took seconds. But now we had five princes who were hell-bent on fighting Onye even if it meant their deaths. The other Africans would no doubt grow terrified at the idea of fighting against Jo.
"Great! Seraphs, come to me."
At Jo's call, Jas's personal unit arrived; she then introduced them to the princes.
"Everyone, these are our allies. They will lead you to Onye's bases and important facilities. We will start with those before moving on. Does that work?"
"YEAH!" "As expected of Lady Jo!" "Time to stick it to that bastard!"
The brainwashed princes all cheered in excitement. Only we knew that they were about to embark on a series of battles from which they would never survive. All while my Darling sent them off with a smile.
