"Miss Gu, is that you? What a coincidence," Shen Yue was the first to greet, now recognizing it was Gu Huanhuan.

It had to be said, the world really was small; to encounter someone she had just seen the day before.

Gu Huanhuan gave them a cursory glance, her pristine forehead wrinkling slightly.

Ugh, such an unlucky outing, to come across a nemesis.

"Yes, quite a coincidence," Shen Yue nodded.

"That dress looks really nice on you," Shen Yue added, suddenly thinking how amazed Song Jie would be if he saw her in that dress.

"Thank you," Gu Huanhuan replied.

Song Ying glanced over then, turning towards the clerk, said, "I want a dress of this style in size S."

Shen Yue tugged at her hand, "Song Ying, why get the same dress? We'll end up wearing the same outfit."

And to think, they all knew each other; clashing outfits at the same event would truly be embarrassing.

"I'm sorry, miss, this haute couture gown only comes in one size per design; the size S is already worn by this lady here," the store clerk apologized.

"But I really like it, could you possibly transfer stock for me?" Song Ying requested, in truth unable to swallow her pride, wishing to prove herself against Gu Huanhuan.

"High-end custom gowns are unique in design and size," the clerk apologized again.

Song Ying frowned once more.

The gown truly was stunning, and it had an exclusive charm when worn by Gu Huanhuan.

She couldn't let Gu Huanhuan steal the spotlight at any time. Gu Huanhuan was already beautiful and, now adorned with the gown, she was even more captivating.

After hesitating for a while, looking somewhat embarrassed, she then turned to Gu Huanhuan and said, "Miss Gu, hello, I'm Song Jie's sister. Do you have any banquets to attend recently?"

Gu Huanhuan was taken aback, not expecting this kind of connection, and since she mentioned Mr. Song, it seemed a bit impolite for her not to give in.

"Yes, there is a charity auction coming up," Gu Huanhuan answered truthfully, "If you really like this dress so much, then I'll let you have it."

Having said that, Gu Huanhuan prepared to go back to the dressing room to change.

Song Ying curled her lip, "Forget it, I'm not interested in clothes that others have tried on."

Her tone was full of disdain as if referring to something dirty.

Shu Pan frowned upon hearing Song Ying's remarks. What did she mean by that?

"Alright, if you don't like it, let's look for something else. There are plenty of beautiful dresses after all," Shen Yue intervened in an attempt to smooth things over, then looped her arm around her, ready to leave.

"Fine," Song Ying finally agreed.

She walked away with Shen Yue, proud as a peacock.

"Huanhuan, do you know her?" Shu Pan asked, clearly sensing the other's hostility.

"I don't know her, but she knows Wen Chi, and they've even had dinner together," Gu Huanhuan said, frowning.

So there was a story there?

Shu Pan, having been around the block, saw it clearly at once.

"I didn't expect this. Don't take her words to heart, you really look good in it, go ahead and buy it," Shu Pan comforted.
