Lethal Stunner: Kicking Off with Five Beast Husbands -
Chapter 90 Divine Gold White Hair
Chapter 90: Chapter 90 Divine Gold White Hair
"Someone has arrived at Cloud Island." Chen Yunji, his eyes covered with white gauze, faced the entrance to the snow mountains outside the window and spoke coldly, his voice flowing like the clear water from an icy mountain spring.
"The bridge collapsed. How could anyone still make it to Cloud Island?" The Nine-tailed White Fox asked, puzzled.
With that, he got up and walked outside. "I’d like to see which fearless fools dare to come to Cloud Island this time."
Ever since Xiao Jinsheng and the others entered the snow mountains, they had been harvesting rich rewards.
Among the spoils, resources worth 100 points were plentiful, and now they encountered a Mutant Beast worth a whopping 10,000 points.
It was a three-meter-tall Nine Stars Snow Rabbit.
Xiao Jinsheng had never in his life seen such a massive rabbit. Tigers he’d seen in the past seemed like mere kittens in comparison.
"A Mutant Beast worth 10,000 points is Nine Stars? Then if we encounter Ten Stars, wouldn’t it be worth hundreds of thousands?" Xiao Jinsheng exclaimed in shock.
The Nine Stars Snow Rabbit, in its snowy mountainous habitat, was naturally left to Shi Xie, the Ice Element powerhouse who ranked Ten Stars, to deal with.
To avoid any mishaps, Xiao Jinsheng had already retreated into the Space.
Whether Mutant Beasts or Fog Corpses, those ranked Six Stars and above would develop consciousness.
The Nine Stars Snow Rabbit, of course, wouldn’t stupidly clash head-on with Shi Xie.
Its gleaming red eyes turned, and taking advantage of the environment, it triggered an avalanche.
Snow and wind whipped furiously, and the snowbanks covering the mountain paths cascaded downward like quicksand.
Waves of water splashed onto the snow, instantly freezing half the mountainside, and the Snow Rabbit’s four limbs were trapped on the icy ground.
It locked its crimson eyes onto Shi Xie, who was advancing to slaughter it, unflinching, and even cracked a human-like smile with its three-part mouth.
Just as Shi Xie’s suspicions were roused, a deafening roar sounded from behind.
The mountain cracked open, and the icy snow layer covering it was shattered by the collapsing cavern below.
A massive suction force emanated from the depths of the cavern, pulling everyone on the surface into it.
Shi Xie intensified his attacks, striking fiercely at the Snow Rabbit.
The Snow Rabbit squinted its red eyes, stood upright, clenched its rabbit paw like a fist, and forcefully smashed Shi Xie into one of the cavern openings.
The sheer power of the blow startled Shi Xie, a Ten Stars expert, into realizing that this was far from the strength of an ordinary Nine Stars Snow Rabbit.
The cavern gap abruptly sealed shut, and white snow fell, erasing all traces of the ground’s torn fissures.
The Snow Rabbit’s figure blurred before morphing into a white-haired, red-eyed man.
He waved a folding fan, his voice rising in playful mockery, "I’m saving you all. No need to thank me too much."
With that, he turned around with satisfaction and started to leave, only to make eye contact with Xiao Jinsheng, who had appeared out of thin air.
Xuan Jiu: ...
Xiao Jinsheng: ...
"A female?" Xuan Jiu recalled that there had been a female among the group he had just ambushed while pretending to be the Snow Rabbit.
Xiao Jinsheng had calculated the timing, thinking that the Mutant Beast should have been dealt with before stepping out of the Space.
Yet as she scanned her surroundings, the seven men were nowhere to be seen.
Snow-edged silence enveloped the scene.
The only presence was the tall young man standing barefoot in the snow, dressed in white robes, his fox-like crimson eyes smiling at her.
Xiao Jinsheng watched Xuan Jiu warily, retreating step by step.
Xuan Jiu folded his fan and approached her. "No need to be nervous; I’m kindly helping you all."
Xiao Jinsheng gave a sarcastic laugh.
The vanished Shi Xie and his seven companions had already sent her messages via Star Map.
It was this humanized Snow Rabbit who used the cavern to send them right off Cloud Island.
When Shi Xie and the others emerged from the cavern, they looked around and realized they were back at the entrance to Silent Valley.
Understanding that the Snow Rabbit had concealed its strength, likely reaching Eleven Stars at the least, Shi Xie grew concerned about Xiao Jinsheng meeting it alone and hurriedly sent a message.
But inside the Space, Xiao Jinsheng couldn’t receive messages on Star Map.
By the time Xiao Jinsheng exited the Space and saw the alert, it was already too late.
She instinctively tried to retreat and re-enter the Space to wait it out until the seven men made their way back from Silent Valley.
Xuan Jiu deftly grabbed her by the hood of her down jacket, chuckling. "Why were you left behind? Let me send you out now."
With that, the snow scattered, but the ground beneath the snowdrifts did not crack open like before.
Xiao Jinsheng cocked her head and looked at him. "Weren’t you going to send me out?"
Xuan Jiu grit his teeth and smiled. "The Terminal shut the passage."
He then set her down. "Such a pity—the Terminal’s response is too quick. You won’t be leaving Cloud Island either."
"What do you mean?" Xiao Jinsheng frowned, her hostile gaze piercing him.
This white-haired man had been acting strange since the moment he appeared.
"No need to look at me like that." Xuan Jiu smirked. "I’m trying to save you all. Leaving Cloud Island will let you live longer."
"Then what does the Terminal have to do with it?" Xiao Jinsheng probed for information.
She, too, had been baffled by Xuan Jiu’s cryptic remarks.
Que Zelian and the others had just entered the stone walls and were heading toward Cloud Island.
Li even considered using his Domain to traverse Space back, but Xiao Jinsheng sternly persuaded him otherwise.
Her objective for this competition was first place, and if Li used his Space Element Superpower, her team would be disqualified.
Moreover, Xiao Jinsheng sensed that the white-haired man’s bizarre behavior suggested he might not have malicious intent, so she decided to wait him out.
Without spatial leap abilities, the group of men would need a minimum of three days—rushing nonstop—to cover what would normally take a ten-day journey from Silent Valley.
"Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t." Xuan Jiu leaned closer to Xiao Jinsheng, his crimson eyes vertical-slitted, flashing danger as he revealed sharp fangs on each side. "The more you know, the quicker you die."
Xiao Jinsheng glared at him furiously.
Xuan Jiu let out a sardonic laugh. "A feisty one."
"Tell me, why did you hide in your Space right from the start?" Xuan Jiu muttered in frustration. "If you hadn’t gone into the Space, I could’ve sent all of you out just now."
"I’m in a competition! Do you think I need you to send me anywhere?" Xiao Jinsheng snapped.
"Hahaha." Xuan Jiu laughed loudly without restraint. "A competition? Competing to see who can reach Naihe Bridge first?"
"Stop speaking in riddles!" Xiao Jinsheng’s face darkened.
Xuan Jiu no longer paid her any attention. He reached out and grabbed Xiao Jinsheng’s hood again, sighing. "Good words are wasted on the stubborn. Since you’re unafraid of death, I won’t stop you."
"Your Beast Husbands are looking for you, aren’t they?"
"This place isn’t safe. When they find you here, I’ll send you down."
"Let go of me!" Xiao Jinsheng yanked her hood out of his grip, watching him warily as she retreated.
Suddenly, a beastly roar echoed behind her.
When Xiao Jinsheng turned to look, she saw a pack of Seven Stars wolves.
A total of twelve wolves, their eyes glowing menacing green, fixed their fierce gaze on Xiao Jinsheng.
Xuan Jiu quickly stepped forward, grasping her hood again. "I told you this place isn’t safe. Don’t worry; once your Beast Husbands find you, I’ll send you back."
"Ah, why do people always come to Cloud Island despite danger and refuse to leave even when warned?" Xuan Jiu said with apparent frustration.
Just as Xiao Jinsheng broke free of his grasp, her waist was wrapped by a snow-white tail.
Xuan Jiu swiftly transformed into a massive Three-meter Nine-tailed White Fox, his tails wrapping around Xiao Jinsheng and carrying her onto his back as he dashed toward the snow mountains.
The pack of wolves, wary of his aura, growled grudgingly but turned away in retreat.
Xiao Jinsheng found herself brought to the summit of the snow mountains, where a bamboo house stood precariously on the edge of a cliff.
Xuan Jiu carried her past the fence and stormed into the bamboo house, where he then transformed back into human form.
He placed Xiao Jinsheng on a soft mat. Dizzy from the rapid movement, her head swirled, stars danced in her vision.
Chen Yunji, who had just picked up a cup of hot tea, turned his head toward where Xiao Jinsheng sat and sternly questioned Xuan Jiu, "Did you kidnap someone?"
