Lethal Stunner: Kicking Off with Five Beast Husbands -
Chapter 120: Dark Superpower Eleven Stars
Chapter 120: Chapter 120: Dark Superpower Eleven Stars
Ying followed Xiao Jinsheng downstairs and discovered there were six other men in this household.
He lifted his gaze slightly and assessed the Superpower Levels of the six men with a single glance.
The other four posed no threat.
The only tricky ones were the man wearing the Demon Mask and the Mermaid.
Ying discerned that both of them had Ten Stars in Superpower Level, just one star below his own.
"Where’s Caicai?" Xiao Jinsheng asked as soon as she descended the stairs and saw the Beast Husbands, quickly rushing into Li’s arms.
"Caicai mentioned that its bound Host was in trouble, so it went back for a few days," Li answered.
Hearing this, Xiao Jinsheng looked a bit anxious. "Did it say how many days?"
"Four or five days, maybe," Que Zelian interjected.
Upon hearing this, Xiao Jinsheng suppressed her worry and quickly replaced it with a bright smile.
"Are you hungry? I made lunch today," Li said, playfully tugging at her cheek with a smile.
Xiao Jinsheng shook her head and waved at Su Ye. "I want to eat Su Ye’s cooking today. His food is my favorite."
Su Ye raised his head in a daze. "Huh?"
"What are you standing there for? As a Beast Husband, do you really expect the Female Master to cook for herself?" Li shot Su Ye a reproachful glance.
Suppressing the strange feeling in his heart, Su Ye looked at Xiao Jinsheng, then got up and headed toward the kitchen.
Once Su Ye left, the living room instantly fell silent.
Xiao Jinsheng sat beside Li and beckoned to Shi Xie with her finger. "Didn’t you say yesterday you’d take me to the ocean? Have you packed your bags?"
Shi Xie froze, a confused expression spreading across his face.
When did he say they were going to the ocean yesterday?
Weren’t they supposed to take a mission to Mist West?
"I’ve already packed. Let me know when you want to leave," Shi Xie responded, despite the suspicion swirling in his mind.
Noticing the situation, Mo Jiao’s gaze flitted subtly between Xiao Jinsheng and Yu Yunxiao.
Li’s crimson eyes glared reproachfully at Yu Yunxiao. "Did you not know there were plans today? Shouldn’t you wake up early when necessary? What kind of Beast Husband are you?"
Ying, who had been doing his best to minimize his presence, felt a sudden jolt of panic upon hearing this.
He observed the cold stares directed at him by the other men and tried to gauge the original status of this body in the household.
Finally, he spoke apologetically, "I understand. This was my mistake."
"Use the proper honorifics. I am this household’s main husband," Li warned coldly.
"I understand, Main Husband," Ying responded.
As these words left his mouth, the room fell into an awkward silence, with everyone’s expressions briefly turning strange before quickly reverting to normal.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Su Ye eventually brought out a bowl of fish ball noodle soup and gestured for Xiao Jinsheng to come over. "I just made these fish balls this morning. Have a taste."
Shi Xie, staring at the bowl of noodles containing fish balls he himself had prepared, said nothing.
Huaiqing adjusted his glasses, listening intently to the small commotion from Yu Yunxiao’s direction.
Ying remained silent, focusing on maintaining the image of someone weak and mistreated as he interpreted the attitudes of those around him in this household.
Xiao Jinsheng ate her fish ball noodles while her left hand, hidden beneath the table, tightly gripped Li’s fingers, sketching something into his palm.
Li comfortingly held her hand and smiled as he watched her eat. He then asked the group, "According to the schedule, who’s responsible for staying home today?"
"Based on the lottery order, it’s Number Six today," Huaiqing replied.
"It’s your turn, little kitten," Que Zelian said with a smile, giving Ying’s shoulder a light pat.
Suppressing the confusion in his eyes, Ying nodded in agreement. "Understood."
"Little kitty, make sure to take good care of the house, okay? We’ll be back before nightfall," Xiao Jinsheng said, eating only a few fish balls before putting down her utensils and waving at Ying with a smile.
"Understood, Female Master," Ying replied, watching her radiant smile stir a faint warmth in his heart. He even foolishly raised his hand to wave back at her.
Once Xiao Jinsheng left with the six Beast Husbands, the small villa became quiet, with Ying its only occupant.
His previously tensed expression relaxed as he wandered around the living room before returning to the only place in the villa he was somewhat familiar with—his bedroom.
In this unfamiliar place, he knew nothing and could only pin his hopes on the room belonging to the original owner of this body to gain some useful information.
Today, being his turn to guard the house, might just provide him with an opportunity.
Seated at the desk, Ying confirmed his name: Yu Yunxiao.
He also found a delicate box on the desk containing a slip of paper marked with the number six.
Judging by the creases in the paper, it had clearly been used as a lottery tool.
Recalling the earlier comments from Bai Ze and Dragon Sparrow, about how it fell to him to guard the house, Ying speculated that this "Number Six" slip was linked to the lottery they had mentioned.
Placing the slip back where he found it, he picked up the unfamiliar terminal and opened Star Map.
The contact list on Star Map wasn’t extensive, with only seven entries—clearly the people living in this household.
However, as all the contacts were labeled with nicknames, it offered Ying no help in figuring out their identities.
Neither the room nor the Star Map offered any useful information, so Ying cautiously stepped out into the courtyard.
It was a beautiful day.
The afternoon sun on Mist East was warm, its golden rays illuminating the courtyard walls.
A kilometer from the villa, within the domain Li had unfolded, Xiao Jinsheng’s voice rang out, anxious and urgent. "That person is not Yu Yunxiao!"
"What?" Su Ye was shocked.
Xiao Jinsheng’s behavior had been off ever since she came downstairs.
She specifically requested to eat Su Ye’s cooking. Initially, Su Ye assumed her tastes had suddenly shifted as his culinary skills, apart from making sugar water, tended to produce charred disasters.
But as her odd reactions continued to unfold, he began picking up on something else entirely.
And Yu Yunxiao had been unnervingly quiet all day. At first, Que Zelian and the others simply thought Xiao Jinsheng was angry at Yu Yunxiao.
They never expected this turn of events—more horrifying than any mere quarrel.
"Calm down, Xiao Jin. What happened? Take your time and explain," Que Zelian said gently, placing a comforting hand on Xiao Jinsheng’s back to soothe her emotions.
"Yu Yunxiao was acting strange today. Some of his reactions were completely unfamiliar, and his usual habits felt off. At first, I thought it was just me being overly sensitive," Xiao Jinsheng pressed her hand to her chest as she struggled to suppress her panic.
"But then, while he was washing my face, I replicated his Superpower again."
As she spoke, Xiao Jinsheng raised her hand, where a black light glimmered in her palm.
"An Eleven Stars Dark Superpower!" Li exclaimed in surprise.
"Caicai had reported before that Yu Yunxiao’s Superpower was Light Healing," Xiao Jinsheng looked at Li, her tone serious. "You’ve seen Yu Yunxiao’s Superpower before as well. It was only Healing."
"But today, when I replicated his Superpower, not only was it at Eleven Stars, but its nature was entirely different."
"So he is not Yu Yunxiao."
"But I can confirm that the body is Yu Yunxiao’s," Xiao Jinsheng admitted, setting aside her embarrassment.
When Yu Yunxiao had gotten mad and sulky, she’d spent the entire evening soothing him.
Both of them had left marks on each other.
Even the Contractual Totem proved that Yu Yunxiao’s body still belonged to him.
But the soul within—the essence—felt like someone entirely different.
"Is it possible," Xiao Jinsheng asked anxiously, "for someone in this world to possess another’s body?"
As someone who’d read many novels, and who herself had traversed to Mist Continent, Xiao Jinsheng couldn’t help but worry that Yu Yunxiao might have been overtaken by another soul in a moment of vulnerability.
If the current Yu Yunxiao wasn’t truly Yu Yunxiao...
...then where was the real Yu Yunxiao?
Overwhelmed by worry, Xiao Jinsheng clenched her palm, initially intending to seek Caicai’s help. But Caicai wasn’t around for several days.
"Yu Yunxiao’s current condition is unclear. To avoid provoking him and potentially endangering Yu Yunxiao further, we mustn’t alert or anger him. We’ll have to probe tactfully and extract information about Yu Yunxiao’s situation," Huaiqing suggested.
Hearing this, Xiao Jinsheng nodded.
But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t quell her anxiety.
Staying calm was easier said than done while Yu Yunxiao’s safety remained uncertain.
Back at the villa, Ying returned after completing a loop around the property to get a lay of the land.
Just as he arrived at the villa, he noticed two cars parked at the gate of the neighboring courtyard.
Bai Yan stepped out of the car and, noticing Yu Yunxiao, waved with a smile. "Is Jinsheng home? Did you guys return so early?"
Ying looked at Bai Yan’s enthusiastic greeting with a puzzled gaze, attempting to evaluate Bai Yan’s relationship with Xiao Jinsheng.
