Lethal Stunner: Kicking Off with Five Beast Husbands -
Chapter 118: It’s Time for Xiao Jinsheng to Turn the Nameplate
Chapter 118: Chapter 118: It’s Time for Xiao Jinsheng to Turn the Nameplate
A group of men gathered around, just in time to see Xiao Jinsheng using her hands to untangle her tail wrapped around Li’s thigh.
Her mental control over the tail wasn’t quite there yet, so she opted to use her hands directly.
"Is this Beastification?" Mo Jiao asked in surprise.
"Beastification as a black panther..." Huaiqing pondered for two seconds and guessed, "Is this due to the side effects of the Plundering Superpower?"
After all, on Xiao Jinsheng, they couldn’t sense the dangerous aura inherent to true Beastmen.
"You could say it’s a side effect. The Plundering Superpower doesn’t just copy your abilities; under certain circumstances, it also unconsciously copies your Beastification traits," Xiao Jinsheng subtly hinted.
The Beast Husbands present instantly understood the situation, as Xiao Jinsheng’s current Beastification characteristic was that of a black panther, and last night’s rotation had been Su Ye.
"Isn’t this great?" Li said, taking advantage of Xiao Jinsheng’s distraction, his hand reaching for her pair of beast ears.
When Xiao Jinsheng raised her hand to smack him away, he swiftly picked her up and hurried down the stairs.
With a sidelong glance at Xiao Jinsheng, he gazed at her with a teasing look: "Do you want to see what you’d look like with Demon Horns?"
"Female Master, Beastification into a Mermaid means you could explore the underwater world," Shi Xie reminded nearby, successfully diverting Xiao Jinsheng’s attention away from Li.
"Having wings to fly is much more convenient than using Wind Element." Que Zelian chuckled lightly.
"You all are annoying." Su Ye glared at the group who had spoken up.
Mo Jiao was about to speak but, remembering his Beastification as a snake, closed his mouth in frustration.
Huaiqing adjusted his glasses, a faint smile forming at the corner of his lips, and chose not to join the conversation.
Yu Yunxiao directly pulled out a paper slip and flashed it in front of Li, Shi Xie, and Que Zelian in turn: "Can you read? Can you count? Tell me, what number is this?"
Looking at the paper slip Yu Yunxiao held—previously used for drawing lots for rotations—Li scoffed and provoked him with his gaze, while Que Zelian simply turned his head away, refusing to answer.
It was Shi Xie who responded, "Number six."
"So, you all can read numbers. Has your turn come yet? You’re all trying to push ahead," Yu Yunxiao sneered.
Shi Xie responded with a smile, "Almost—I’m number seven."
Holding the slip marked with the number six, Yu Yunxiao shoved Li aside and seated himself next to Xiao Jinsheng.
On the other side of Xiao Jinsheng, Shi Xie had long since claimed his spot.
Xiao Jinsheng glanced at the two of them, tempted to say, "How about you two combine your rotations?"
She had grown stronger, more skilled, and could handle it.
But the thought of never having tested her powers with Yu Yunxiao and Shi Xie made her hold back this spontaneous suggestion, lowering her gaze and fiddling with her fingers to reduce her presence.
Luckily, the Beast Husbands only caused trouble at night.
With more pressing matters today—training abilities, learning sword techniques, and practicing combat—Xiao Jinsheng had much to focus on.
After lunch, Chen Yunji bid his farewell.
"Hmm?" Xiao Jinsheng looked at the man before her, whose eyes were veiled in white cloth and carried a chilly demeanor, asking in confusion, "May I ask where you’re going?"
"I need to return to my old residence to retrieve something," Chen Yunji explained.
Learning that Chen Yunji was only leaving temporarily, Xiao Jinsheng nodded and didn’t stop him.
After all, Chen Yunji had been staying at their house temporarily during this period.
As for her relationship with Chen Yunji, it was merely a cooperative partnership against the Terminal.
Still, as the mistress of the house, Xiao Jinsheng thought it was necessary to prepare some provisions for Chen Yunji as he left.
Just as she was about to gather items from her Space, Huaiqing had already placed a set of car keys in front of Chen Yunji. "Everything’s loaded in the car."
"Huaiqing, you’ve already prepared everything!" Xiao Jinsheng exclaimed, pleasantly surprised.
"As a Beast Husband, it’s my duty to alleviate worries for our Female Master," Huaiqing chuckled.
What a joke—Chen Yunji was a mere outsider.
He, as her Beast Husband, was still alive and kicking.
If provisions had to be prepared, there was no way Xiao Jinsheng herself would do it for Chen Yunji.
"But... is he driving himself?" Xiao Jinsheng reminded Huaiqing to consider Chen Yunji’s veiled eyes.
"No problem. I already rely on Elemental Vision," Chen Yunji replied.
Chen Yunji’s departure brought relief not only to the seven Beast Husbands but even to Xiao Jinsheng, making her feel far more at ease.
With Chen Yunji as a guest these past few days, she’d been mindful of dressing properly whenever moving between the first and second floors.
If it had been the usual, she’d roam freely in just her sleepwear, upstairs and downstairs.
She’d laze on the couch when tired and have one of the Beast Husbands carry her back to her room.
Having dropped to 5 Stars in Spiritual Power last night, she had climbed back to 6 Stars.
However, after a day spent practicing abilities and testing the ultimate moves of each Beast Husband, her Spiritual Power plummeted from 6 Stars to 2 Stars.
During dinner, Xiao Jinsheng directly used the Healing Element superpower she had replicated to wash away the day’s training fatigue.
She looked at the Beast Husbands and said, "I think we can take on a Star Map Task tomorrow."
"Sounds good," Su Ye responded. "You can even have a match against the Fog Corpses. Training alone isn’t enough; real combat is what makes you grow."
No one present objected to taking on a Star Map Task to explore Mist West.
Before bedtime, Xiao Jinsheng quietly pulled Yu Yunxiao upstairs.
"Why are you acting so sneaky?" Mo Jiao happened to be walking by the stairs and questioned her.
"Nothing, my footsteps are naturally light," Xiao Jinsheng brushed him off and quickly escaped upstairs, leaving Yu Yunxiao behind.
"Xiao Jinsheng, you’re impossible!" Yu Yunxiao exclaimed in frustration, glaring at the interfering Mo Jiao before hurrying after her.
Mo Jiao returned to the living room, sulking, his gaze landing on the remaining five men. "I think this rotation schedule is unreasonable."
"Oh? What’s your brilliant idea?" Li asked nonchalantly.
Mo Jiao thought hard but couldn’t come up with a better rotation plan for the moment.
Huaiqing was carrying a book as he headed upstairs, casually commenting as he passed by, "Beast Husbands in other households would go to great lengths just for a hint of their Female Master’s favor. Having a rotation schedule isn’t so bad."
"We don’t necessarily need a rotation," Shi Xie suggested with a smile. "We could let the Female Master pick her own cards."
"Whoever she fancies, she can pick herself."
Upon hearing this, the remaining five men turned their eerie gazes toward Shi Xie, who maintained his calm smile, utterly unfazed.
"Picking cards is fine, but using the Mermaid’s racial talent to charm her is not allowed," Li warned, his red eyes glaring at Shi Xie with veiled menace.
"Nor is Beast Husband combat," Huaiqing reminded everyone.
"I have no objections," Que Zelian chuckled, sure of his chances.
"We can discuss her opinion tomorrow," Mo Jiao stated.
Freshly returned from her Space, Xiao Jinsheng was naturally unaware of the six Beast Husbands’ downstairs discussion about the card-picking process.
She couldn’t find Yu Yunxiao in her bedroom, so she knocked on the door of his room, curious.
After a while, the door opened, revealing Yu Yunxiao’s flustered, mildly irritated face.
When he saw Xiao Jinsheng, he smirked sarcastically, "What’s blown you over to my place tonight?"
"I’m coming home to rest," Xiao Jinsheng replied, attempting to enter the room, only to be blocked by Yu Yunxiao’s arm.
"You have seven homes in one house. It’s been months—I thought my door had gone invisible."
Sensing the undisguised bitterness in Yu Yunxiao’s words, Xiao Jinsheng glanced up at his puffed-up expression and couldn’t help bursting into laughter.
"Xiao Jinsheng, you’re laughing!" Yu Yunxiao growled in annoyance.
"Don’t be mad, little kitty. I’m here now," Xiao Jinsheng coaxed, hugging his arm and playfully shaking it.
A wave of heat surged through Yu Yunxiao, turning his face red from the tips of his ears down.
Trying to maintain a cold expression, he averted his gaze and interrogated her, "Why did you rush upstairs earlier?"
"Not just rush—you even abandoned me and ran off."
"I went to my room to wash up. Didn’t you come find me?" Xiao Jinsheng asked.
"Who’s going to find you? Do what you want; don’t come if you don’t want to—actually, don’t come at all," Yu Yunxiao huffed.
Staring at the new monitoring setup on the Star Map, Xiao Jinsheng tried not to laugh.
If the cameras hadn’t captured Yu Yunxiao chasing after her to her bedroom door, knocking but receiving no response, angrily clawing at the walls outside, and finally retreating with his cat ears drooping...
With the confidence he exuded now, she might have actually believed him.
