Legendary Necromancer: My First Summon is the Undead Dragon -
Chapter 30: Sudden end of the test
Chapter 30: Sudden end of the test
Jake couldn’t react. The orc smashed through all his undead skeletons, and before he could even move, it punched—landing right in his guts. His body arched, blood pouring from his mouth.
His body flew through the air, no movement at all, but suddenly, a glowing rune appeared over his head.
[Death Loyalty Activated]
[Crypt has taken the attack on your behalf]
Jake felt all the pain vanish from his body. Just a moment ago, he felt as if he had been shattered into bits.
He flipped in the air and landed into the swamp with a splash. Jake looked up, his eyes on the orc.
"There’s no luck, only fate that we carve out ourselves," Jake said. He charged forward, running at top speed through the water.
Just a moment ago, he survived death because Crypt had risked his own life for him. Crypt couldn’t help now. Besides the fact that he was surrounded, he also took damage from the attack that he carried for Jake.
"I’ll do my best this time," Jake said. The orc saw that Jake didn’t die from that attack. It immediately threw another punch, wanting to take Jake out now, but this time Jake was ready.
Just when the punch was about to hit, he slid underneath it, dodging the punch by just a hair. I’ll not let what Crypt did go to waste.
He stabbed his sword into the arm that was above his head. The blood poured out like a fountain. He pulled the sword out and rolled in the water to get away, then he rushed toward Crypt.
Now that he had enraged the orc, it was blind, following him with even more vigor—and that was exactly what Jake wanted.
"Crypt, I’m sorry for what I’m about to do, but I need your help," Jake spoke to Crypt telepathically.
"Whatever you ask for, Master, I’ll do," Crypt said.
"When I tell you, use your tornado attack. Let’s take them all out in one move," Jake said. He got closer to where Crypt was, and when he was very close, he spoke, "Do it now."
Crypt, without hesitation, released his attack. The tornado ripped through the water, tearing high into the sky. It ripped the orcs all at once, including the orc that was chasing after Jake—and Jake as well.
Crypt saw Jake and immediately rushed toward him, grabbing him and throwing him out of the attack range before it could seriously harm him.
When the attack died down, the orcs were scattered across the swamp. The black water fell from the sky like rain.
Crypt looked around to see if there was any orc moving, but there was none. He looked for Jake, only to see Jake pinned against the ground by the grey orc.
The orc was covered in cuts, bleeding out, but even in that state, it refused to let Jake go, as if it had been programmed to take out Jake.
Jake’s face was turning purple, losing life every second that passed. Crypt picked up his spear and threw it with terrifying precision. It penetrated the head of the orc and killed it there.
Jake stayed there in the water, his chest rising and dropping repeatedly. "I’m tired of this shit," he muttered.
The scene started changing again, returning him back to the dome. He lay on the ground. All the smell and water had vanished, but he still felt like shit.
But that sour feeling he had all vanished when a string of messages came.

"What the hell?" Jake’s eyes widened when he saw the skill. He was immediately filled with energy. He sat up, reading the skill again. He would be able to use the abilities of his summons?
Before he could read the other notifications he got, the door of the test room opened up. The Guild Master, Seer, and Rion walked in.
It was only then that Jake realized the test had come to an end. It wasn’t supposed to do that. It was to keep going until he couldn’t go anymore.
"Why did it stop?" Jake asked.
"That’s what we want to find out as well," the Guild Master said. He bowed his head slightly. "My name is Leon, Guild Master of the Adventurer Guild of Lumerg," he introduced himself.
He walked up to Jake, looked at him closely, as if trying to spot something. "The test started misbehaving when you walked in. The first test was not supposed to be red flame lizards, and the second was not supposed to be the orcs.
Those two are something that are found in the silver three-star and gold one-star." Leon said. He scratched the back of his head and continued explaining.
"The test sometimes does some crazy things, but this was the first time we had seen anything like this. It was as if it was specifically targeting you, and then all of a sudden, it stopped the whole test.
It also gave you a rating that shocked me. You are a three gold-star adventurer right off the bat," he said and flashed a card already made for Jake.
"Everything you have said makes very little sense to me," Jake said.
"Likewise, I don’t understand what happened, and my jurisdiction is far too low to know what’s happening. If you want to know what happened, you’ll have to head to the Adventurer’s City—Tempest.
Tempest is where the main brain of the test lies, and that’s the only place you might get some answers. Seer and Rion told me about your state, and to be honest, a Chosen without information is a moving target, waiting for death.
You have to get as informed as possible and ready yourself for when the Hundred Trials," Leon said.
Jake listened to everything he said, and though he didn’t understand everything, he still knew what Leon was getting at.
"Thank you," he said, receiving the card with his information and three gold stars on it. He looked at the card, but then he recalled something.
"Wait, Guild Master."
