Chapter 1626: Chapter 1567: The Secret of the Heavenly Clan, You Parasite! (First Update)
The Human Emperor’s Palace at the Central Lands, towering and ancient, stands as a testament to the inception of the human Dao era by the first generation of humans from Ancient Wilds. Since the founding of humanity, even during the darkest periods of rise and fall, the ancestral domain of the Human Emperor has never wavered!
A grand and ethereal White Jade Heavenly Gate stood suspended amidst endless swirls of Purple Qi, its stature exceeding a million zhang. Colossal divine radiance poured forth like reversed heavenly rivers, majestic and resplendent, evoking an unparalleled sense of awe deep within one’s soul!
Above the Heavenly Gate, dragons coiled and tigers crouched, phoenixes sang, and their cries resonated. Purple Lightning Silver Light pierced through ten thousand miles of the sky vault, and streaks of purple light danced like Great Dragons, incessantly flickering across the heavens!
Under weak breath, Xiao Chen’s Divine Body shrank back to its original size. Beneath the majestic Heavenly Gate, he appeared diminutive. Within the gate, faint outlines of colossal TianQue towers emerged intermittently!
Four Guards clad in golden Battle Armor stood vigil beneath the gate, their aura of Blood Qi forming swirling Blood Dragons around them. Every one of them emanated an essence of sharp slaughter; all four were of the Emperor Realm, yet colder and deadlier than the strong ones of the same rank Xiao Chen had encountered before!
As if receiving orders, even when Xiao Chen stepped closer to the Heavenly Gate, these four human Emperors guarding it showed no trace of emotion. Surrounded by a tangible iron-blooded aura vast as the ocean, their War Spears remained tightly poised, ready to strike at any moment!
"Guan Tian Pavilion seeks this Emperor!"
The moment he crossed the Heavenly Gate, Xiao Chen heard the sound of the East Emperor once again resonate in his Soul World. Soon after, an elderly man appeared before Xiao Chen, his serene gaze fixed on him for several breaths before a weathered voice sounded.
"Another child who returns from the midst of bloodshed and storm. Come with me!"
The elder was exceptionally old, his Blood Qi faded and almost in ruin. Yet Xiao Chen sensed an inexplicable tranquility emanating from him, calming the intense Blood Qi stirred by the slaughter he had endured.
Following the elder, Xiao Chen walked for nearly half an hour until they arrived at Guan Tian Pavilion!
This was a tower that soared into the clouds, devoid of divine brilliance or grandeur. Its entirety seemed built from massive blocks of Qing Stone, exuding profound simplicity and agelessness. From bottom to top, each block of Qing Stone was covered in dense cracks!
Occasionally, flashes of talismanic light appeared from the depths of the cracks, revealing the hidden talismans within the Qing Stone, which were the only reason the tower hadn’t crumbled. Its antiquity was overwhelming, with liquid drops of decay accumulating in the crevices of the Qing Stones, visible even to Xiao Chen.
Compared to the floating Heavenly Palace or the majestic colossus akin to Divine Mountains, this tower seemed more like a staggering elder still struggling to stand.
Stepping slowly into Guan Tian Pavilion, Xiao Chen felt as though he had entered an entirely different realm. His surroundings were grand and infinite, shrouded in an amorphous green glow that enveloped all directions. Even straining his eyes to their limit, he couldn’t see clearly. Only when he looked upward, straight into the endless heights, did he see stars sparkling, reflecting a boundless Endless Starry Sky that stretched across billions of miles.
At the center of this dimension, the East Emperor sat cross-legged in the Void. Beside him floated an ethereal spherical world radiating steady green light, its true nature obscured from view.
"The Central Emperor is in seclusion, this Emperor temporarily governs the Central Lands, resisting the Hundred Clans!"
As if aware of Xiao Chen’s thoughts, the East Emperor spoke. Unlike before, Xiao Chen noticed a faint but unmistakable trace of weariness on the East Emperor’s face.
"Greetings, East Emperor."
The East Emperor waved dismissively, indifferent to formality, instead gazing at Xiao Chen and stating, "It seems this Emperor’s previous judgment was not mistaken."
Xiao Chen knew the East Emperor had summoned him not for trivialities. Though the Human Emperor’s grand stature was vast and boundless, its imposing presence wasn’t oppressive to his own kin. Thus, Xiao Chen felt no fear, though reverence was unavoidable!
"East Emperor, this junior..."
"You want to know about that so-called Heavenly Race, correct?"
This time, the East Emperor hid nothing. His once-composed demeanor finally shifted, igniting fury—the wrath of an emperor shattering Heaven and Earth. For a brief moment, Xiao Chen truly experienced the phenomenon surrounding the East Emperor: the sky dripping with blood, realms submerged in blood rivers, Heavenly Gates trembling between existence and ruin!
Having earned the title of Human Emperor, the East Emperor was unquestionably decisive in slaughter. The blood staining his hands was enough to suppress the Vault of Heaven!
"The Heavenly Race." A sigh escaped, tinged with bitterness, hatred, and killing intent!
"Parasites, nothing more."
"Parasites?" Xiao Chen echoed the word in confusion, already suspecting that the Heavenly Race was the hidden hand behind the chaos the East Emperor had spoken of before.
What’s more, it seemed the Hundred Clans themselves were tools of this elusive race, mere pawns sent to clash with humanity—humanity’s true enemy. The Hundred Clans were but trivial adversaries!
For a moment, the space reverberated with thunderous explosion. The seated East Emperor rose, his immense imperial aura sweeping away all traces of lament, leaving nothing but endless killing intent!
"The Heavenly Race," he began, "claims their kind are akin to dragons, rulers among Heaven and Earth. This ancient race has existed since the dawn of creation!"
"This race has survived countless epochs of destruction. Worlds crumble, yet they remain immortal and indestructible!"
"Tracing beyond the reign of the Human Emperor, to the era of Wild Gods, and even further back to the enigmatic Spirit Clan of the ancient age—this race’s shadow stretches across them all!"
Heaven and Earth crumble, yet the Heavenly Race endures!
Time and space fracture, yet the Heavenly Race remains undying!
In that instant, a chill ran down Xiao Chen’s spine, his body shivering uncontrollably. What kind of existence was this race—a sovereign divine being claiming eternal immortality, perhaps a manipulative hand behind the great mysteries of the primeval age? Were they merely toying with mankind and the world?
Even now, humanity seemed to be treading a path that mirrored theirs.
This time, Xiao Chen’s status was evidently sufficient for him to uncover the secrets of this realm. The East Emperor spoke without reservation.
"This race leeches Heaven and Earth’s essence to nurture themselves alone. Aloof and external, hidden in shadows, they watch ages rise and fall, surveying epochal cycles of reincarnation with cold amusement."
"The Hundred Clans are merely their hounds. During the era when the human Dao flourished, humanity dominated Heaven and Earth. Strong ones emerged endlessly, treading upon relics of gods to rise. Countless Emperors existed, enough to subjugate the Hundred Clans eternally. Yet in the crucial turning point, the Heavenly Race intervened!"
At this, the East Emperor paused briefly before continuing. "A united Desolate Wilds opposed the interests of the Heavenly Race, much like the thriving might of ancient Spirit Clans and primeval Wild Gods. Humanity’s strength alarmed them, so they acted decisively—defeating mankind, leaving it gravely weakened. Only through countless sacrifices of blood and bone did humanity claim control over the Desolate Earth!"
In mere words, Xiao Chen grasped the crux of the matter. The human’s peak during the Desolate Wilds era was unimaginable, with innumerable Emperors at the helm—a terror unparalleled, especially when modern epochs only hosted fewer than ten such figures!
"This race is terrifying beyond reason; they call themselves Heavenly Race because they defy the rules of Heaven and Earth. Do you know why we humans have martial arts restricted by Nine Grades of Martial Arts Towering Realm as a measure of talent? It inherently limits the evolution of martial arts. And even with Towering Realm, humans gain lifespans of thousands of years!"
"Could it be...?"
Once again, dread surged through Xiao Chen, his spine chilled to its core. He had long wondered why even at Towering Realm, humans could live for thousands of years, each advancement adding another millennia. Yet, inherent defects in such potential seemed evident, like overextending one’s capabilities into unsustainable heights!
"This was the result of adjustments made by the Heavenly Race to this dimension’s Heaven and Earth rules. The Nine Grades Towering Realm restricts martial reproduction for countless humans. But during the human Dao’s dawn in the Desolate Wilds, we were never confined by Towering Realm limitations!"
The East Emperor clearly understood Xiao Chen’s thoughts and elaborated further.
"Human martial arts evolved from divine Dao. Yet since you started cultivating Divinity, have you ever heard of gods being restricted in their cultivation? Too many truths are buried within the sands of time!"
"In the Desolate Wilds era, the lifespan for Emperors who reached World Suppression Realm was merely one epoch, and breaking through to Eternal Emperor Realm only extended it by three or four epochs. Compare this to now, where achieving World-dominating Realm grants three to four epochs of lifespan as a gift!"
For a moment, Xiao Chen frowned. Emperors living for three to four epochs seemed advantageous—it would add invaluable foundational strength to humanity!
Yet the East Emperor’s face, shrouded with killing intent, now showed a slight sneer.
"This is the result of myriad calculations, revealing an inevitable flaw. While the Heavenly Race altered Heaven and Earth rules to constrain humanity’s growth, they inadvertently left behind an opening. Even if each epoch only produces a handful of Emperors, the extended lifespan allows humanity to accumulate a faint trace of heritage!"
For Xiao Chen, gaining strength meant greater comprehension of the impossibly vast forces beyond. To alter fundamental Dao laws and control the dynamics of Heaven and Earth—such manipulation seemed insurmountable in his view.
"Heaven contains inherent Dao, thus even the Heavenly Race can only modify portions of Heaven and Earth operations. Following the Desolate Wilds era’s upheaval, they lost the capacity to reconfigure these changes, granting humanity a glimmer of opportunity!"
"But humanity has now grown similarly to ancient gods, exceeding their grasp once more. Thus, in the final moments of this epoch, the Heavenly Race intends to annihilate humanity just as they wiped out gods, paving the way to create another race!"
In response, Xiao Chen spoke slowly, his words measured, though his inner turmoil churned uncontrollably.
"Indeed!"
The East Emperor’s voice carried not the slightest trace of emotion!
No wonder other races erupted in chaos—they saw an opportunity. Even as loyal hounds of the Heavenly Race, if humanity vanished, they could dominate the Desolate Wilds. Even as dogs, they could nonetheless rule realms independently!
When a race earns the favor of the Heavenly Race, it becomes the next humanity, creating a new era filled with glory spanning countless epochs!
