Legend of Wyatt -
Chapter 1154: Gather at the Summit
Chapter 1154: Chapter 1154: Gather at the Summit
The original ’Shadow Peak’ has now been renamed ’Heaven Peak,’ a mountain forever shrouded in ice and snow.
From a distance, the pure white snow that blankets the peak resembles a layer of shining silver armor.
Wyatt Barnes and Winnie Romero led the way on horseback, followed closely by Kamari Gold and Fill Bear, and the group of four quickly reached Heaven Peak, arriving at the summit.
Along the way, it was evident that Heaven Peak was far from serene.
Clusters of women in white stood everywhere, grouped in twos and threes, gazing distantly at a fiercely burning mountain peak and engaged in endless chatter.
"Sun Peak has been burning for a whole day now."
"I heard Sun Peak is now covered with boiling lava, and the ground where Sun Peak disciples used to cultivate has been destroyed."
"What are the Sun Peak disciples going to do now? They won’t come to Shadow Peak to compete with us for our cultivation spaces, will they?"
...
These women in white were the disciples of Shadow Peak from the former Yin and Yang Sect, speculating and worrying amongst themselves about the Sun Peak disciples encroaching on their cultivation spaces.
They were still unaware that the Yin and Yang Sect was no more, replaced by ’Heaven Fortin Sect.’
They were now disciples of Heaven Fortin Sect, and the mountain they were on, formerly known as ’Shadow Peak,’ had been renamed ’Heaven Peak’ with a single pronouncement from the current Sect Leader of Heaven Fortin Sect!
Wyatt Barnes and the others quickly made their way to the summit of Shadow Peak, standing high in the clouds, as if waiting for something.
Time quietly slipped by.
After half an hour.
"They haven’t arrived?"
Kamari Gold, looking in the direction of the burning mountain peak in the distance, furrowed his brow, "Those three are too inefficient! How dare they keep the master waiting so long!"
"They’re here."
Kamari Gold had barely finished speaking when Wyatt Barnes’s eyes lit up, as if he had spotted something.
Soon after, Winnie Romero, Kamari Gold, and Fill Bear could all see a group of people approaching from the direction of the burning peak.
Three figures led this impressive procession.
Even though they were far away, their extraordinary eyesight as beings of the Martial Emperor Realm meant they could see everything clearly.
"I’m at the summit."
As Wyatt Barnes saw the group reach the outskirts of Heaven Peak and stop midair, unsure of where to go, he spoke up at the right moment.
His voice carried the power of Origin Force; though it didn’t seem loud, it rang clearly in the ears of everyone around Heaven Peak.
"Who’s talking?"
"Such a strong cultivation! Is he really at the summit?"
"If he really is at the summit speaking now, judging from our location, everyone around Shadow Peak must have heard his voice."
...
Wyatt Barnes’s voice startled many of the female disciples of Shadow Peak.
"I’m Gabriel Cloud, the Protector Elder of Sun Peak. All of you at Shadow Peak, listen up, gather at the summit immediately... anyone not present within half an hour will be expelled from the Sect! No matter the status, no matter the position!"
While the group of Shadow Peak female disciples was still shocked by Wyatt Barnes’s voice, another voice reached everyone’s ears at Shadow Peak.
"Not at the summit within half an hour, and will be expelled from the Sect?"
"That’s definitely the voice of Elder Cloud from Sun Peak!"
"Elder Cloud is a Protector Elder of Sun Peak whose strength is no less than that of both Peak Masters. He is also the Sun Peak Master’s martial uncle and is deeply respected by the Sun Peak Master... If he’s asking us to go to the summit, we better hurry."
"Let’s go! To the summit! I wonder what’s happening today that requires all of us to go to the summit."
"If nothing unexpected has happened, it’s probably to announce the Sun Peak disciples taking over our Shadow Peak... after all, they’ve become homeless."
...
After hearing Gabriel Cloud’s voice, all female disciples of Shadow Peak hastened to the summit without delay.
"Elder Cloud?"
"With such an event happening at Sun Peak, shouldn’t the Peak Master, Hunter Sun, be taking the lead? Why is Elder Cloud personally getting involved?"
"This Elder Cloud isn’t usually one to seek such attention."
...
Many Shadow Peak elders also heard Gabriel Cloud’s voice, and they understood the significance of his status in the Yin and Yang Sect better than the group of female disciples.
Therefore, they didn’t dare to procrastinate and headed straight to the summit.
Halfway up the mountain, several figures stood in midair; among them were elderly women and middle-aged ladies.
Swoosh!
It was only when a figure shot out from halfway up the mountain and stood in the air that those present came to their senses and bowed respectfully to the newcomer, "Vice-Peak Master Rowan."
Now appearing before them was a woman of noble and elegant bearing, dressed in a white robe trimmed with silver, standing with a powerful presence.
It was none other than Vice-Peak Master Pearl Rowan of Shadow Peak!
"Hmm."
Responding with a slight nod to their salutes, Pearl Rowan’s expression showed a hint of confusion.
"Vice-Peak Master Rowan, is Elder Cloud calling all of us to the summit to announce the Sun Peak disciples taking over our Shadow Peak?"
An elderly woman asked Pearl Rowan.
"I don’t know."
Pearl Rowan shook her head.
"If they really are going to come to Shadow Peak, where will we find enough cultivation spaces for them all?"
A middle-aged woman with a grim expression said,
"If there’s not enough space for cultivation, they can dig it out themselves... As fellow members of the Yin and Yang Sect, we cannot stand by and watch them die! Besides, we’ll discuss any matters once we reach the summit."
After Pearl Rowan spoke, she took the lead and headed towards the summit.
"Alas... Now, our Shadow Peak has only Vice-Peak Master Rowan in charge, compared to Sun Peak’s Peak Master, Protector Elder, and two Vice Peak Masters, we are at an absolute disadvantage," someone sighed, shaking their head as they followed Pearl Rowan.
"It seems that it’s a foregone conclusion that the people of Sun Peak will take over our Shadow Peak today, and it cannot be changed," another person added.
At the summit of ’Shadow Peak,’ now known as ’Heaven Fortin Peak,’ the place quickly filled with people, and the number was still growing, a dark mass of figures.
"All these... They’re all from our ’Heaven Fortin Sect’?"
Fill Bear looked at the crowd before him with a glint in his eye.
Heaven Fortin Sect was his Young Master’s, so he also considered himself part of the Heaven Fortin Sect.
At the summit of Heaven Fortin Peak, the first group of people to appear was a group of white-clad women.
Among these white-clad women were old ladies, middle-aged women, young women, and some youthful girls.
They were indeed the female disciples from the Yin and Yang Sect’s Shadow Peak.
"That Gabriel Cloud sure knows how to get things done."
Witnessing how Gabriel Cloud’s mere word had mobilized all the female disciples of Heaven Fortin Peak with such efficiency, Wyatt Barnes was also quite satisfied.
Before long, as the number of people at the summit of Heaven Fortin Peak continued to increase, Gabriel Cloud, Prince Sackman, and Anand Sackman arrived at the summit with a grand entourage of Sun Peak disciples.
Many Sun Peak disciples looked dejected; their cultivation grounds had been taken away just like that.
"It’s Elder Cloud!"
The appearance of Gabriel Cloud caused a stir among the crowd.
After all, he was the Protector Elder of Sun Peak, whose power was no less than that of Sun Peak’s Peak Master. Many of the female disciples of Shadow Peak were excited to see him, like chickens injected with fresh blood.
"Both Vice Peak Masters of Sun Peak have arrived... But why is Hunter Sun, the Sun Peak’s Peak Master, nowhere to be seen?"
After a while, someone looked around but did not spot Hunter Sun, which they found puzzling.
"Indeed, where is Peak Master Hunter Sun? Why hasn’t he come?"
Soon, another person expressed their doubts.
"It’s not only Peak Master Hunter Sun who’s missing; his son Felix Sun isn’t here either... Also missing are Sister Ella Yorke, Sister Jovie Lee, and Junior Sister Keer."
"It’s almost half an hour now... If they don’t come soon, according to Elder Cloud’s words, won’t they all be expelled from the Sect?"
"Hmph! If Hunter Sun and his son really do get expelled from the Sect, that would be cause for celebration! Taking advantage of the Peak Master and Vice-Peak Master Winnie’s closed-door healing, they threatened Sister Jovie Lee to coerce Junior Sister Keer... How despicable of them."
"We still haven’t seen Sister Ella Yorke."
...
The group of female disciples from Shadow Peak was buzzing with conversation, and soon several realized that Hunter Sun and his son, along with Ella Yorke, Jovie Lee, and Keer, were all absent.
"Elder Cloud, Vice-Peak Masters Sackman."
Before long, an emotionless, indifferent voice rang out, capturing the attention of most present.
A woman of elegant and luxurious demeanor appeared, leading a group of old ladies and middle-aged women. She greeted the three men standing in front of a group of Sun Peak male disciples from afar.
"Vice-Peak Master Rowan."
Gabriel Cloud and his companions looked at the woman, a gleam in their eyes.
The woman before them was now the highest authority of Shadow Peak, the Vice-Peak Master of Shadow Peak, Pearl Rowan.
"Elder Cloud, where’s the Peak Master of Sun Peak?"
Pearl Rowan looked at Gabriel Cloud, her eyes flickered, a flash of cold light passing deep within them as she bluntly asked.
"Sun Peak’s Peak Master is dead," Gabriel Cloud said.
No sooner had Gabriel Cloud spoken than not only Pearl Rowan and the few Shadow Peak Elders behind her but all the people of Shadow Peak, and even the crowd of Sun Peak followers behind Gabriel Cloud and the Sackman brothers, were all stunned into silence.
Sun Peak’s Peak Master is dead?
The mighty Sun Peak’s Peak Master of the Yin and Yang Sect, one of the four strongest Martial Emperors in the Sect, is dead?
"Elder Cloud, you’re not joking, right? Although Sun Peak was engulfed in lava, with the Peak Master’s cultivation, escaping shouldn’t have been difficult, right?"
Pearl Rowan asked Gabriel Cloud, obviously not quite believing that Hunter Sun, Sun Peak’s Peak Master, was dead.
For a moment, all the people of Shadow Peak also turned their eyes to Gabriel Cloud.
The people of Sun Peak, aside from the two Vice Peak Masters, Prince Sackman and Anand Sackman, also turned to Gabriel Cloud, wanting to hear how he would respond.
"Our Sun Peak’s Peak Master’s death has nothing to do with the lava... He was murdered," Gabriel Cloud stated openly under everyone’s watchful eyes.
Murdered?
The moment Gabriel Cloud said this, everyone present, except for Gabriel Cloud himself, the Sackman brothers beside him, and Wyatt Barnes’s party of four hidden in the high sky, all turned pale.
Sun Peak’s Peak Master, Hunter Sun, was one of the strongest beings in the Yin and Yang Sect.
In terms of power, no one in the Yin and Yang Sect should have been able to kill him.
Yet now, he had been murdered.
The one who killed him, could they not be a more powerful being than all the strong ones in their Yin and Yang Sect combined?
"Who killed him?"
For the first time, Pearl Rowan came to her senses and asked, somewhat dumbfounded.
