51: Chapter 42 Avenger_3 51: Chapter 42 Avenger_3 “Kidnapping?”
The mercenary hurriedly donned his armor, ran out of the yard, and before he could mount his horse, he saw a fellow mercenary swiftly galloping out from an alley, nearly colliding with him.
“Fuck you!
Which team are you from?
Watch where you’re going, you almost killed me!” the mercenary cursed in shock.
Lokhak ignored the incomprehensible shouting behind him and pushed his warhorse to move faster.
Lokhak was anxious about how Leon and Azeryan’s plan was progressing.
He lifted his head and looked up at the sky.
A small, dark shadow crossed between the clouds.
There was no time to think further, Lokhak refocused and spurred his horse, racing past farmhouses and entering an alley leading to the south.
Finally, he saw Leon’s figure at the end of the alley.
His friend was cornered by a tall Knight, with nowhere left to hide.
Lokhak violently pulled on the reins initiating a final sprint.
The horse’s hooves thundered until they were close.
The young man let out a shout he’d been holding back for too long, “Kantadar bastards!
Die!”
Lokhak didn’t use the weapon in his hands; instead, he drove his warhorse directly at the enemy.
The Heavy Armor Knight, caught off guard, only had time to turn his head before he could not avoid the impact anymore.
The powerful surge of the horse forcefully knocked the Spear Knight off his feet.
His body crashed to the ground with a loud thud, his long spear slipping from his grip.
His back was viciously trampled by the galloping hooves.
If it were not for his heavy armor, he would have been dead or grievously injured.
Watching his comrade mercilessly trample the enemy like a steamroller, Leon’s gaze sharpened, and without a moment’s hesitation, he lunged forward following his friend’s charge.
His hands skillfully made gestures he had pretended countless times in idle moments.
He screeched to a halt a step away from the opponent, half-crouched, kneeling on one knee.
With a Dharma Seal in his hand pointed at the Heavy Armor Knight’s head.
The dazed Knight had not been seriously injured.
He gritted his teeth, trying to get up, enraged and searching for his lost weapon.
But as he lifted his head, he saw through the narrow vision of his helmet a blinding white light.
“Surprise, mother fucker!”
The dazzling light burst suddenly from Leon’s fingertips at close range.
The speed of the magic was unstoppable at this distance.
The Light Arrow blasted out almost instantly, leaving a blinding trail as it struck the Knight’s faceplate.
Bang!
Metal parts disintegrated from the inside out under the explosive force.
Blood, brain matter, eyeballs, and fragments of skull, the entire head burst like a watermelon.
Spraying red and white, a mass of indescribable mush, the Knight’s helmet was flung from the neck and spiraled up, scattering the “tofu-brain” mess all over.
Having successfully directed the inner Magic of Miss Mage to obliterate the enemy’s head,
Leon felt a blur before his eyes and sudden weakness in his body, nearly collapsing right there.
He quickly propped himself up on the ground.
Sweat had already soaked the skin under his armor.
No wonder he only had one shot; now, though not unconscious, he could barely muster the strength to lift his feet.
Hearing the loud noise behind him, Lokhak grabbed his warhorse and turned back shouting, “Leon!”
“…I’m okay!
Go save Azeryan!
He’s fallen across the street!” Leon struggled to his feet, shouting at his companion on horseback.
Another of their party had already been incapacitated, and they were still far from being out of danger.
Enduring dizziness and fatigue, Leon pulled a sword from the Heavy Armor Knight’s waist.
He could hear the sound of hooves getting closer.
It seemed it was not just Lokhak coming to their aid.
The entire village’s enemies had been roused completely.
What to do next.
“Miss Lora, do you have any other Killing Skills I can use?” Leon asked inwardly with a wry smile.
All that answered him was the endless silence.
And the giant shadow that now loomed overhead.
Leon, supporting himself with his sword, looked up.
“Death Claw?”
He had never thought he’d see it again.
No sound, no roar.
The Death descended silently from the sky, swooping down toward the Kantadar people’s heads.
