Knights and Magic Wand -
Chapter 49 - 49 42 The Avenger
49: Chapter 42: The Avenger 49: Chapter 42: The Avenger “Olivia, a fine name,”
An unnerving smile cracked across the blood-engorged face as the crimson Knight Kantadar raised his halberd high while pacing with accelerating steps.
“Remember the one who crushes you, Baron of Ladin Castle, Dawson Kasoles.”
The clanging Shin Armor Iron Boots hit the ground like thunder exploding in the air, the heavy metal steps cracking the ground as the steaming, naked form of his opponent leapt forward.
The girl dragged her long sword, gripping it with both hands, her aqua eyes fixated on the approaching enemy.
Gods, grant me victory—
Kneeling and leaning forward, the petite figure turned into a blur of light as she stepped swiftly.
Golden and crimson collided noisily.
Horizontal Slash, direct to the face.
Like thunder, the sword blade scraped against the axe blade, casting off dazzling sparks.
Olivia’s eyes quickly scanned the axe blade falling too close, and she decided not to try closing the distance further.
The left foot landing, she immediately stepped aside.
Boom!!!
The Long Spear missed a heavy strike, raising a cloud of dust.
“Ha ha ha ha!”
Failing to end his opponent in one move, Dawson laughed heartily as he lifted the tip of his halberd and relentlessly pursued the girl.
Olivia twisted her waist to the right to dodge the attack, her hands lifting the sword to fend off the halberd blade.
But the unstoppable force suddenly changed motions.
Dawson, with veins bulging on his right arm, shifted his halberd horizontally with one hand, pulling into a fierce Horizontal Slash.
A Gale picked up.
The roar of the winds skimmed over the girl’s head.
Skillfully kneeling, she dodged the fierce slash, a few strands of golden hair not so lucky and were chopped off mid-air.
The heavy axe blade swung with strength to spare, and using the momentum, the Baron sneered and turned his waist, kicking his left Shin Armor Iron Boot like a War Hammer.
Thump!
Inevitable to dodge, the girl had to block the might of the iron boot with the strong blade and guard of her sword, taking the enemy’s power head-on.
The blade’s resilient edge curved inward, the impact striking in front of Olivia.
“Uh!” the girl winced in pain, clenched her teeth, barely managing to lift her legs.
With a harumph, the girl coughed out blood, her lithe body kicked into the air.
“Die!!!” Dawson roared furiously, his bloodshot eyes wide as he grabbed the pole of his halberd with his left hand, pulling the weapon back and rushing toward where the girl would land.
The axe blade swung out heavily like a whirlwind.
The terrifying force had more than once turned Orland Warriors in Heavy Armor into twisted meat.
Her long skirt fluttered high, the girl in mid-air pursed her pale lips, quickly twisting her waist to turn her body like a falling cat.
The spinning white skirt, like a blossoming lily.
The girl didn’t fall when Dawson expected her to.
The halberd blade nearly brushed past her shoulder.
The metal blade ripped off a large piece of the sleeve, scraping a startling red on her smooth white skin.
“!?”
Dawson’s eyes widened, seeing his usually reliable Horizontal Slash unexpectedly miss.
And the girl, falling like a drifting maple leaf, simply spun half a turn in front of him using the force of his slash.
Both hands firmly gripped the long sword, already shifted from her waist to above her head, a glowing silver blade came crashing down toward the enemy’s neck!
Damn!
Dawson knew he couldn’t immediately retract the over-swung halberd.
He let go of the long handle with his right hand, lifted his forearm, desperately twisted his upper body to dodge that deadly strike.
Crack!
Blood splattered as the falling blade chopped into the stretched, tight muscle, red as armor.
Dawson’s forearm and shoulder shared the force of the blow.
Olivia only felt a tough, sluggish sensation of cutting.
Despite gravity, rotational inertia, and body weight, the girl’s sharp sword was caught by the enemy’s unusually resilient bones, unable to advance further.
The very muscles she had cut clung tightly to the blade.
As soon as her feet touched the ground, the girl suppressed the searing pain from her left shoulder wound and pressed down on the blade, trying to inflict a larger wound.
“—Rah!” Dawson roared as he pulled his left arm, smashing the halberd’s blade toward the girl in front of him.
Olivia, dragging her long sword, had to leap back to dodge the sweeping spear tip.
Having pushed back the girl forcefully, Dawson, too, retreated a few steps before regaining his grip on the halberd handle.
“My lord!
Are you alright?”
Luke, leading the Attendants and surrounded by others, finally reached Baron Dawson’s side.
Guarding their Sealing Lord, he glanced at Dawson’s slowly tightening wounds on his arm and shoulder, his heart racing.
“Forgive my interruption of your duel, but this damsel is not a true Knight; to kill her bears no honor anyway.”
Hearing his subordinate’s words, Dawson’s eyelids twitched, his hot blood stirring him to an unstoppable rage.
He could easily tear her frail body to pieces if he could just touch her.
But again and again, he was thwarted by the girl’s exquisite Martial Arts, even though he felt he still held the upper hand.
However, lightly touching the gem embedded in his chest, Dawson’s mind cooled slightly.
Indeed, it wasn’t a real duel of honor, why get so agitated?
Better finish this farce quickly.
“…
let’s do it together, end her swiftly.”
With the Sealing Lord_approval acquired, Luke immediately raised his blade, shouting to the Soldiers, “Raise your spears!”
Several skilled Attendants on both sides leveled their Spears.
A group of shameless people roared, rushing toward the girl like a Wolf Pack.
…
clang!
The heavy Long Spear swung with unimaginable lightness, swiftly.
