Chapter 863: Chapter 377 Broadcast_3
"What do we need to do?"
"I’ve taken care of the fuel. The white car has diesel, the blue one has gasoline. Now we need to search for food and water, but before that, we need to make tools like crowbars. How about this, you go find some metal sheets or can tabs to set up an alarm." Lin Wu asked, "Will there be any survivors in the parking lot?"
Xiao Wu said, "It’s highly unlikely. The fence is there to prevent people from climbing in and stealing things from the parking lot. There are at least thirty zombies at the front gate, and the back gate can only be opened from the guardhouse. If I were a survivor, my targets would be supermarkets and pharmacies, not a parking lot. Lin Wu, I hope we can cooperate honestly."
Lin Wu extended his hand: "90% honesty."
"What about the other 10%?"
Lin Wu said, "90% honesty is true honesty. We won’t harm each other; we’ll help each other; we’ll be the last ones laughing, but I don’t want you to know the color of my underwear or that of my ex-girlfriend’s."
"Alright, 90% honesty then." Xiao Wu and Lin Wu shook hands.
The previous games involved cooperating with NPCs on long-term missions. Here, it was just by chance.
Lin Wu was more concerned about Maya’s whereabouts, as surviving 180 days without her team seemed extremely challenging.
Lin Wu and Xiao Wu weren’t in bad living conditions; they found quite a few snacks, even some bags of buckwheat noodles. Water was even less of a problem, as the back of many cars had mineral water bottles, some trunks even contained several packs of bottled water.
The more troublesome part was nighttime; the surroundings were pitch-black, and the temperature could drop to single digits. Worried that fire might attract zombies, they could only spend the night in the RV. Even though they set up an iron sheet alarm system, the current situation made it hard for them to sleep peacefully.
Xiao Wu was a very cheerful and optimistic person. He didn’t mind being framed by his former boss, nor was he ashamed of his attitude towards women, and their relationship was relatively harmonious.
Waking up early, Lin Wu went out to scout and, 20 meters away from an alarm line, he spotted the closest zombie to their camp. Upon climbing a tall ladder in the area, he could see over twenty zombies scattered around the parking lot. Due to the high obstructions, the real number might be higher. However, the density of zombies was still very low, and Lin Wu didn’t feel pressured.
Until now, Xiao Wu hadn’t mentioned the firearms Lin Wu carried, and Lin Wu pretended not to know, not distributing any firearms to Xiao Wu. Perhaps this was the remaining 10% honesty.
"We’re definitely going to die," Xiao Wu said as he came up the stairs and stood beside Lin Wu to observe.
Lin Wu said, "It’s not too bad, but it’s different from the zombie themes we’ve seen on Blue Star."
"How so?"
Lin Wu said, "In those themes, zombies are tireless, constantly moving around, launching attacks immediately upon spotting a target. I’ve observed for ten minutes; these zombies move very little, not shifting more than five meters per minute when there’s no disturbance."
Xiao Wu replied, "That makes sense."
"Oh?"
"Running and lunging would consume tremendous physical strength, and zombies aren’t perpetual motion machines nor are they plants that can replenish energy through photosynthesis," Xiao Wu said. "Perhaps they slowly enter a hibernation state until they are startled awake."
Lin Wu agreed, "That does make sense. Hey, Xiao Wu."
"Yes?"
Lin Wu said, "If there’s anything on your mind, feel free to share."
"Heh, I’m fine."
Lin Wu said, "Then try to cry a bit quieter at night."
Xiao Wu was taken aback, "I was crying?"
Lin Wu nodded.
Xiao Wu burst out laughing, "I thought it was drool. I’m going to mark my territory first." After saying that, he unzipped his pants to relieve himself.
Using urination to relieve the awkwardness, Xiao Wu asked, "Do you think we need to dig a toilet?"
Lin Wu said, "Just knock out the sunroof of a car, and it becomes a natural toilet."
Xiao Wu: "Are we just killing time today?"
Lin Wu: "We didn’t find suitable weapons yesterday; I need a dagger, and you should prepare a handy cold weapon too. It’s best to have a long weapon to keep the zombies at a distance." For zombies that aren’t rigid, the safest method is to maintain distance.
