Maya continued, "For now, this is the best we can arrange. Next, let me analyze the terrain of Day After Tomorrow City."

Maya said, "To the east, the land is flat and there’s a military base. I suspect they’ll set up a temporary refuge there, but I also believe they won’t realize soon enough that the enemy they are facing carries a zombie virus with no serum or cure. Depending on our own supplies, we’ll decide whether to stay at the refuge. But I believe the refuge won’t last very long."

Maya said, "To the west is The Day After Tomorrow River, which leads to the sea by water route and to The Day After Tomorrow Peninsula by land route. The peninsula is an island over 20 square kilometers in size, and I believe many residents will flock there."

Maya continued, "To the south, there are mountains, densely forested areas, and primitive forests; this is a good choice. However, I must tell everyone that the food in the forest isn’t abundant and it would be hard to meet the needs of eight people for 180 days."

Maya added, "Ten kilometers north of North City is Desert Town, and further north is The Day After Tomorrow Desert. It’s the path that people are least likely to choose. However, according to the information, The Day After Tomorrow Desert was once a commercial corridor and is believed to have oases. Of course, finding an oasis capable of sustaining eight people isn’t easy."

Stone said, "If I were born in West City, I’d try to get a boat so we could survive 180 days on some unknown deserted island." The sea is vast, and we wouldn’t have to worry too much about food.

Maya nodded, "I’m being rather optimistic here. My bigger worry is, once the zombie virus breaks out, the entire city will be out of control, and transportation will completely collapse. Shana then said, "The test we are about to face is harder than all those we faced over the past eighteen months combined; we might not even survive the first 24 hours. All I want to say now is, I’m glad to have known all of you."

Lin Wu interrupted, "Save the sentimental talk for the Earth reunion. It’s just six months, do we really need to miss each other that much?"

"This is called boosting morale, strengthening the will. Idiot." I’d tear you apart.

Maya noted, "The map is ready; the information is all here for everyone."

Shana added, "Don’t forget to take an envelope." The entire base safety zone was covered with professional envelopes, each one representing someone’s identity in the city. Picking an envelope meant you’d be taking over their identity in the city.

The distinctions in profession mainly had three impacts. One was income, which determined how many and how difficult to obtain supplies would be that day. Another was ability, like if you were a boxer, your punches might be stronger than someone’s baseball bat. The last impact was the profession itself; if you were the boss of the local SWAT, casually securing a truckload of weapons, armored vehicles, and more, was no big deal, not triggering an airstrike was already quite restrained.

Lin Meng and Little Knife lay on the ground, wishingly sniffing every envelope as if each was unique, while Lin Wu casually picked up the closest envelope. After cleaning up, he took Wai to the tent base and rode Phantom to wander around. Once out of the safety zone, amidst the mixing snow and ice, one man, one horse, one dog aimlessly trekked.

Shana put down her binoculars, "Man, dog, and horse, all heading to the airport. What a fuss..."

Snow Egg commented, "I’m curious, why are you, such an extraordinary woman, unemotional in some situations, while Lin Wu tends to be more sentimental?"

Shana replied, "Heartless and carefree, living isn’t hard. As long as you don’t invest real feelings, everything in the world is just NPCs. Being a bad girl, life is easy. Being a bad boy, every day is joyful."

Little Knife joked, "You don’t have to be so self-deprecating. Lin Meng, how’s that envelope?"

Lin Meng examined it up close for a while, then closed her eyes and sniffed, "I smell a faint scent of roses."

Maya glanced at the rose decoration on her dinner table and continued eating her steak in silence.

Stone, sitting across from Maya, posited, "Are the variables not too great? In the first year after I graduated from university, ten classmates planned a holiday trip. When the day came, only two showed up. The others had last-minute issues, were sick, or had to travel for work. Stone turned and asked, "Lin Meng, do you know where to buy tents?"

Maya corrected, "Tents sold in outdoor sports stores are more professional. This is the internet era, you can find such shops on your phone or computer, then drive or take public transport there. You could also have it delivered to your door, but make sure to clarify the time, and pay extra if needed."

Maya added, "Everything at home can be sold."

Little Knife asked with a smile, "What about boyfriends?"
