Chapter 779: Chapter 352 Arms Dealer_2
Lin Wu took out the car keys he had found on the man, "This car?"
Seeing the man hesitate, Maya pressed the gun to his head, "Talk." She had no fondness for arms dealers.
Lin Wu said, "Maya, don’t get so into character. Think about our strip search staff’s feelings." If you treat him like a real person, we’ll have trouble getting started.
The chubby man spoke the truth, "The battery in the car key is inserted backwards."
He pulled out the mechanical key, opened the car key, repositioned the button battery, and only then could the car key be used normally. Otherwise, they would have to break into every car in the underground garage. This was also a common street trick.
Shana asked, "What’s in the car?"
"Guns, bullets," the chubby man retorted, "What else could it be? Missiles? Ha-ha."
Shana was annoyed by the NPC’s retort, but arguing with him would be beneath her human dignity. Lin Wu flattered with an assist, "He’s got gold teeth."
Shana immediately showed a devilish grin. It’s not that I want to hit you, but we really need the money. Even though it’s not worth much, a small fly is still meat.
After sending off the NPCs, Maya decided to head to the underground parking on level B1 first, as it was likely the only place in the entire building besides the Leopard machine where they could replenish their ammo.
Maya said, "The parking and floors are different, it has a large area with four entrances and exits, which means it’s not only for hotel vehicles but also open to those outside. Everyone choose silenced weapons as much as possible. Clear room 405 first, then go to the 32nd floor to join Little Knife, and use elevator 1 to go to the parking."
Next was the important room 405, which was locked with an additional deadbolt, so Maya kicked the door open. Possessing extremely high tactical training, Maya showed her face and then immediately withdrew as she was greeted by two shotgun blasts.
Maya, leaning against the doorframe, said, "Mr. John, we are humans, sent to evacuate you."
John was very agitated, holding a double-barreled shotgun, he asked, "What humans? Which department?"
Department? We don’t even know which country we’re in. Shana made something up, "We’re from the Rio de Janeiro Special Rescue Team, directly commanded by the White House, ordered by the Prime Minister to evacuate you. Please put down your weapon; we will safely get you to the evacuation helicopter."
There was no response from inside. Shana looked at Maya, "Was that not right?"
Maya replied, "I don’t know."
Lin Wu shouted, "Put down the gun, or we’re leaving."
"You guys go."
Damn it, the hardest to deal with are not the Titans but hostages with weapons.
Lin Wu roared, "This is a robbery, pay up and you won’t get hurt."
John said, "You can have the money, but will you honor your word?"
Lin Wu replied, "We’re robbers, do you think we’d honor our word? Hurry up and put down the gun, or I’ll make you fly happily."
Some people only fear the good ones because they know no matter what mischief they’re up to, the good ones can’t really do anything to them because of their image. But it’s different with bad guys, give a bad guy one extra glance on the street, and they might just KO you.
John had a point too; if Lin Wu and his crew were good guys, they wouldn’t hurt him, so they’d have no choice but to retreat. But it doesn’t work that way with bad guys; they’re here to rob you, and your crappy gun can’t protect you.
The more you think about it, the more fantastical it sounds, but sometimes reality is even more fantastical.
Therefore, John laid down his weapon, then received a good beating, which he took rather well. When they asked him why, he said, since they were hitting him, it was highly likely they wouldn’t kill him.
Then it was time for interrogation. The backstory went like this: John was the new manager who had checked into the hotel early to understand its operations. The manager had indeed come to see him, and John urged the manager to resign voluntarily. The manager was furious, he had given so much to the hotel, why should it end like this? John had responded that the hotel had paid him a salary; there was no one-sided contribution. They nearly came to blows, thankfully, John had stashed a sawed-off shotgun.
John didn’t keep the shotgun because of the manager, but because local security was very bad. Even during the World Cup, there were many security incidents. The most typical being that when the officials invited journalists from different countries to promote the World Cup, they got robbed. Facing such terrible security, there was only one solution: pay to save your life. As long as you paid, you could mostly save your life. That’s an important reason why John had put down his weapon.
John revealed some vital information; he described the manager as someone with a quick temper yet also disciplined. When he couldn’t suppress the violent impulses inside, he would go to the gym to work out, his most effective way to destress. The hotel’s gym was on the tenth floor, and John believed that’s where the manager would be.
The more they investigated, the more places they found the manager could have gone to. The exasperating lack of specific event information made it impossible to trace the manager’s footsteps linearly.
"To the first basement level first." Getting guns was paramount. With enough guns and ammo, cleaning out the entire hotel was not out of the question.
...
After taking the NPCs to the 32nd floor and picking up Little Knife, they boarded elevator number 1 to head to the first basement level. Everyone switched to silenced weapons or not-so-silenced ones. Their primary weapons were carbines, G36s, and handguns, and Forest Wolf and Aka had to remain silent.
The elevator dinged, and the doors slid open, followed by them entering combat. Snow Egg, with her light crossbow, was just an observer this time, while Little Knife’s bow played a significant role. The fight lasted half a minute. Lin Wu and Maya advanced along the wall, one on each side, and soon Lin Wu reported, "Found it."
Because the main force of zombies in the parking had not been eradicated, the elevator was not left unattended. Snow Egg locked the elevator and joined the others at Lin Wu’s location, where Lin Wu was looking at a structural map of the underground garage on the wall.
