Chapter 767 - 348: Forward

Craning his neck and peering around, Lin Wu couldn’t find any terrain or items to take advantage of. Waiting for the Titan to pass, Lin Wu reached the poolside, took a deep breath, and jumped into the pool. His first step landed squarely on an eel, almost causing him to slip and fall. In desperation, he jumped onto a conical sharp rock and hugged the top of the rock, standing like a frog.

The commotion was too great and directly caused the Titan to bellow and give chase. Lin Wu leaped to another rock, and the Titan grabbed at air. The good news was that the Titan wouldn’t enter the pond. The bad news was that it was a fake rock, and Lin Wu, along with the rock, plunged into the water, instantly feeling an electric current surge through his body. He flopped around in the water like a live fish before floating on the surface.

Five seconds later, the revived Lin Wu didn’t move immediately but raised his head instead. Looking at the electric eels beneath his body, Lin Wu pointed his toes to the bottom and paddled his hands through the water, slowly moving towards Stonehenge. His feet slid gently over the bodies of the eels, not angering them.

Turns out one has to be gentle not only with women, but with fish too. Wait, that’s not right? Being gentle is a virtue in women, so they’re gentle, and I have to be gentle too? If I’m already gentler than you, why do I need your gentleness? I might as well be gentle with myself.

Lost in his random musings, Lin Wu circumvented the reefs and stealthily approached Stonehenge, finally seeing a thirty-centimeter-tall, ten-centimeter-wide oval portal within it. The moment he touched the portal, Lin Wu whooshed away and in the next second, he appeared in the small square of the base, standing in the middle of the portal.

Stone was startled and didn’t react for a long time, Lin Wu: "Huh?"

"Huh," Stone lowered his hand.

Lin Wu stepped out of the portal, "So it really was a hidden portal?" Having said that, he handed Stone all the construction materials, scraps of cloth, scrap metal, and various other kinds of trash he was carrying.

Stone glanced at Lin Wu’s weapon rack with the Forest Wolf, "Where did that come from?"

Lin Wu, "Pfft, you wouldn’t understand my level. There is also a blueprint for an Auto Turret here, Su Shi!"

"Here!" Su Shi ran out from the base, exclaiming in shock, "Lin Wu, are they all dead?"

Lin Wu pointed at Su Shi, "I quite appreciate your praise for me." He wouldn’t think so if he saw Little Knife because Little Knife’s survival skills weren’t as good as others. If only Lin Wu survived, there was a possibility that he was the sole survivor.

Lin Wu said, "Clean up all this trash. Later, I’ll get... Shana to bring you another batch." You laughed at me ten minutes ago; in ten minutes, you can try what it feels like to be electrocuted.

As Stone and Su Shi cleaned up the mess, they said, "Okay, okay, let’s head back."

Lin Wu, "Take a break first, you have no idea what’s beyond the portal."

"What?"

"An electric eel pool."

Stone patted Lin Wu’s shoulder, "Even if it’s a sea of fire, you still have to go back."

Lin Wu clicked on the portal, ignoring the first option: "Reverse Teleportation." Instead, he chose instance 334 and with a whoosh, returned to the rooftop.

After going downstairs, the first person he ran into was Little Knife. As soon as Little Knife saw Lin Wu, she screamed in fright and pointed a handgun at him, "Who are you? A clone?"

"Crazy woman." Lin Wu walked over and knocked on Little Knife’s head, "Maya."

Maya poked her head out from the office, her face full of disbelief at the sight of Lin Wu, but she quickly pieced together the cause and effect, "Found the hidden portal?"

"Found it," Lin Wu lied, "But there’s a restriction with this portal; the next person through can only be Shana."

Maya thought for a few seconds, "If it’s safe, then that’s fine." Having spent several months in close quarters with Lin Wu, Maya could tell right away that Lin Wu was bluffing. It was probably Shana who had ticked off Lin Wu, and he wanted to deal with her. But she didn’t care about these details, as long as there were no safety issues.

Lin Wu paused for a while, "Alas! Forget it, I’ll go."

Little Knife was completely confused, "What do you mean? Isn’t it supposed to be Shana?"

Lin Wu, "Mind your own business and hurry up, make space for me."

Clearing all obstacles with ease, Lin Wu didn’t even bother with Stealth and simply followed behind the Titan. Without engaging Stealth mode, a player’s footsteps generate sound waves while walking. But with the Titan’s height of three meters, its ears would not catch the footsteps of Lin Wu with his Agility attribute.

Upon reaching the pool, Lin Wu carefully stepped into the water, afraid of disturbing the creatures below. Then he lay on his back and swam backstroke, not moving his legs and gently paddling with his hands to move forward. Bumping his head a few times by accident, he finally reached the portal safely.

The Shadow Squad’s concern shifted from Lin Wu’s safety to the strategic considerations of the 52nd floor: Where’s the BOSS?

Shana analyzed, "The 52nd floor has one characteristic; all office soundproofing is maxed out. You could have a world war inside, and the creatures outside wouldn’t hear a thing. The BOSS is definitely in one of the rooms. The difficulty of this floor is not in killing the BOSS but in finding the BOSS’s room amidst the patrolling Titans."

Maya added, "Some rooms may have traps, like opening a door and knocking down an Exploding Carnage behind it, or maybe a screecher is nearby."
