Chapter 703: Chapter 331: A Winter Adventure_3

"Let’s head back," Lin Wu shivered, returning to the campfire. No need for the Beast Trap, just activate the base safety zone alarm. What if Maya wants to go out to see the snowscape at night and steps on it by accident? A broken leg is a minor issue, but getting killed is a major one.

We don’t have to worry about wolves, and even less about zombies. Zombies have their active areas, and it takes a process to deviate from those areas, they can’t reach the base safety zone in a single night. Unless the safety zone itself is within their active area.

Maya crawled back into her sleeping bag and continued tearing at the meat: "Whether it’s 99, 88, or 77, all the routes we’ve taken are desolate. We only encountered the Cloud Dream tribe on Highway 88 because of a broken bridge, and even then, the Cloud Dream tribe was far from the bridge. Traveling along Highway 77, we occasionally saw ruins left by humans. Why would there be a human settlement here?"

Lin Wu: "Your curiosity got the better of you again?"

Maya nodded: "We’re just speculating. I won’t let my curiosity interfere with our plans. Of course, we can let Little Fight fly once tomorrow morning."

...

The next morning at six o’clock, as the sun rose, Lin Wu packed up the tent, while Maya reheated some smoked meat over the campfire for breakfast. At seven, they released Little Fight, and just two minutes after taking off, Lin Wu found the target: an aircraft.

"An aircraft?"

"An aircraft," Lin Wu described, "The fuselage is split, but still hanging by a thread."

Maya’s imagination ran wild: "The plane was fleeing the epidemic zone and zombies broke out onboard, ultimately leading to its crash landing here."

Lin Wu pondered: "Why does this scenario seem so familiar to me?"

"Did you find anything else?"

"A rough count, there are about 70 zombies scattered around the plane, not very active. The density is relatively low," Lin Wu said. "We are heading north, and the plane is to our east. Should we go take a look?"

"Of course," Maya said. "We need sunglasses, and we might even find some warm clothing."

...

The plane was in a hollow three kilometers away. It was a medium-sized passenger jet with parts of it buried in the snow, but most of it was exposed. The density of zombies around it was very low; there was no need to clear them specifically.

The plane was split in two, with the front and back still connected by a strip of metal, and evacuation slides opened at both ends. Maya stepped on Sandstorm’s back, grabbed hold of the nose, and crawled into the cockpit. Lin Wu entered the plane from the rear body’s slide.

The inside of the plane was a mess, but not too bad, with most seats still in place and a lot of temporary oxygen masks hanging in the middle. Some overhead bins were open, and some were closed.

Lin Wu bent down and touched a black suitcase on the floor, its surface like rotting skin, tearing at the slightest touch. Inside was garbage resembling ash, crumbling to the touch. It was a typical case of something thoroughly rotted away.

Maya: "This is a treasure trove."

"What kind of treasure trove?"

"A treasure trove of electronic components," Maya said. "We can dismantle the cockpit."

Lin Wu said, "Okay, I’ll trick Su Shi into coming here later. Let him have a year of dismantling fun."

"I’ll check the front cabin."

"Alright." Lin Wu pushed open the restroom door, and a zombie lunged out. Lin Wu quickly shut the door, his heart racing and filled with rage: Fuck! How many times? Is this fun? Interesting at all? Can’t you come up with something new?

Open the door, zombie comes out, shut the door, strike. Open the door, zombie steps out, shut the door, strike. Open the door... After more than ten repeats, although the zombie couldn’t die, Lin Wu vented his frustration with each door slam on the zombie’s head. After dealing with the zombie, he entered the restroom, looked around, and found it empty. There was no place to hide anything, so he left the restroom.

Lin Wu reached for an overhead bin, a zombie inside howled, revealing its rotten, maggot-filled teeth.

Lin Wu closed the overhead bin faster than the speed of light. After a while, he poked his head out the window and roared, "Dawn, I fuck your..."

Opening the overhead bin, the zombie’s head emerged, and Lin Wu initiated the Woodpecker Battle Method, using the bin door to rapidly and repeatedly strike the zombie’s head, crushing it completely.

When Lin Wu approached the next overhead bin, he smartened up, only opening a crack. No zombie, just a piece of luggage turned to trash.
