As numerous zombies emerged from the stairwell, Peanut’s Rapid Fire skill allowed him to empty his magazine quickly, burning through bullets while also successfully holding back the horde.

Lin Wu was the first to jump from the five-meter windowsill and, with his excellent attributes, landed perfectly. After landing, Silent Night’s Lock Head scored a triple kill. Cotton followed, but as she landed and lunged forward, she wasn’t stable and pushed Lin Wu aside. Maya, who followed, wasn’t as lucky; she twisted her ankle upon landing.

Their landing spot was only five meters from the sewer, with Cotton already holding the sewer entrance and Lin Wu continuously shooting at the approaching zombies with his pistol. "Quickly!" The entire living area’s zombies had arrived.

Peanut jumped down, just as a Titan burst through the side door, one hand pressing on the ground and the other reaching out to grab Peanut’s left leg. Maya, who was beside Peanut, saw it clearly and sliced down with her sharp Tang Sword, severing Peanut’s left leg. Ignoring Peanut’s howls, Maya dragged him, enduring severe pain in her foot, and ran toward the sewer.

After tossing Peanut inside, Maya jumped in herself and Lin Wu said, "Go."

Cotton leaped in, Lin Wu followed, and in a moment, it was chaos as people trampled over one another, with zombies also attempting to follow them inside. Lin Wu’s Lock Head killed the zombies, Cotton and Maya dragged Peanut forward. With the entrance of limited size, the speed of zombies falling was hindered, Lin Wu fought and retreated, slowly moving away from the entrance. The zombies that had fallen stopped pursuing and lingered near the entrance instead.

Lin Wu retreated to a spot 20 meters from the entrance, and as he turned the corner, he saw Peanut with two lines of tears on his face, clearly having just taken pain medication.

Good news and bad news came from Emerald Feather. The good news was that Emerald Feather could remotely stop Peanut’s bleeding. The bad news was that Peanut had to be hospitalized at Shadow base to recover his left leg. This was another change after an update; players who lost limbs had to go through hospital admission procedures in a ward, a short stay for three days, or as long as ten days.

Apart from the daily treatment, the patient didn’t need to stay in the ward all day but couldn’t engage in any productive work.

Furthermore, once hospitalized, treatment couldn’t be interrupted before full recovery.

Peanut’s hospitalization was for seven days, and Lin Wu felt extremely regretful, "We lost a strong worker, and it ruined my plans."
