Chapter 522: Chapter 261 Prey_3
Lin Wu understood, no one liked to wear wet clothes; he had deep experience with that bone-chilling feeling.
Lin Wu said, "Don’t be too hard on yourself."
Shana replied, "My parents say the same thing. But I’m part of the 5%, I should be better than everyone else. If I’m not, it’s because I’m not trying hard enough."
Lin Wu said, "Not really, even among the 5%, everyone has their strengths. For example, my ex-girlfriend, she was also part of the 5%, but I didn’t like her."
Shana asked, "Do you like me?"
Lin Wu replied, "No. My point is, to me, you’re just like everyone else in the 5%."
Shana couldn’t help but laugh, "I like your example and at the same time, I have the urge to hit you."
Lin Wu said, "Take it easy, girl. If you dislike it, just dislike it, and tell Stone frankly. I believe he won’t force you to keep working in the rain."
Shana asked, "What do you hate? Something or someone that could make you emotionally collapse, or an event."
"Me?" Lin Wu said, "I hate a repressed team atmosphere."
Shana turned to look at Lin Wu, saying, "Considering the current situation, supplies are getting scarcer by the day. A lack of supplies will inevitably lead to a repressed atmosphere within the team."
Lin Wu said, "If it’s just about the scarcity of supplies, I’ll do my best to help the base."
Shana half understood and asked, "What are you worried about?" Lin Wu could accept the oppression caused by supply shortages, as he would do his best to address the issue. What Lin Wu couldn’t accept were problems that even his efforts couldn’t improve.
Lin Wu said, "I’ve always lived in collective teams, and I subconsciously avoid groups that carry emotional baggage. But I’ve realized, in any group, there’s always someone who likes to pour their emotional trash onto others."
Of course, Shana knew what emotional trash meant. Her classmates all had families and parents, some of whom would intentionally or unintentionally dump emotional trash onto their children. A simple example: A parent complaining to their child after a fight is an example of emotional trash.
In everyday life, complaining is the most common form of emotional trash. Complaining about bosses, teachers, work, or relationships; usually, the complainer feels much better after venting, but the listener inadvertently takes on this emotional trash, resulting in their own mood becoming gloomy and downcast.
In teams, the most common emotional trash is getting angry. A noisy environment infects everyone around, making it hard to concentrate on minor things and causing major irritability and unrest.
A group of classmates might be having a great time chatting in the dorm, but if someone walks in with a frown, as if everyone had offended them, or with heavy sighs like they’re carrying a great injustice, it could spoil the mood and make everyone lose the desire to continue chatting.
Shana said, "I believe that even when facing adversity, everyone will maintain a positive attitude."
Lin Wu disdainfully remarked, "Yet earlier you mentioned that a lack of supplies would create a depressing atmosphere."
Shana replied, "That’s two different things. I meant that everyone’s mood might worsen due to a lack of supplies, and they might show it, but I believe everyone will strive to live positively and energetically."
Lin Wu nodded, and after chatting a bit more, Little Knife and Horse Soul arrived, exchanged a few words, then took Shana away with them, as well as the stored meat from Lin Wu. After watching them leave, Lin Wu communicated with Stone and Maya. Stone was annoyed; not only had he failed to notice Shana’s change in mood, but he had also assigned her a lot of work these past few days, leading to her being soaked repeatedly.
In Lin Wu’s view, Stone’s response was a positive emotion.
If Stone had blamed Shana for being too delicate, pushing all the fault onto her, it would have had a negative impact on Lin Wu. They were companions and ought to help and tolerate each other.
Before leaving, Little Knife left behind a straw raincoat for Lin Wu. The raincoat was a System Item made by Su Shi and delivered to the logging site by Starlight. Stone believed that out of all the people who went on missions, only Lin Wu lacked protection from the rain, so he had Little Knife bring the raincoat to him.
The raincoat was ugly, but more practical than a plastic tarpaulin raincoat. Lin Wu covered his head with the raincoat, found some firewood, and started a fire under a large tree. How did he start it? Of course, with an Incendiary Grenade! The family doesn’t know the cost of gasoline.
While tending the fire, Lin Wu controlled the drone to scan the surroundings, searching for prey.
