Chapter 460: Chapter 238 Gourmet Festival

Sunlight and Starlight kept thanking them, and Stone asked, "Where are you guys settling down right now?"

Starlight answered, "We’ve temporarily occupied a dental clinic in Southward Town, about 5 kilometers from Left County."

Maya took out a map, Starlight took out the System Map of Southward Town, and as they compared the two, Maya said, "At four o’clock this afternoon, I’ll drive over to pick you up."

Sunlight and Starlight thanked them again.

Stone asked, "What about your sister and the others?"

Sunlight said, "There’s a player activity at the end of the season. I hope Fire Dance can find my base, or that I can find the base she’s at so we can meet up through base exchange."

Lin Wu chimed in from the side, "She’s already in her twenties. She can survive without you changing her diapers."

Starlight grabbed Sunlight’s hand and smiled, "I often tell him he’s a sister-obsessed freak. Dear, don’t worry, I believe Fire Dance will do just fine."

Lin Wu said, "Of course she will, because everyone’s life gets better without him."

Maya and Stone glared at Lin Wu together. After all, the other person was a guest. Could you please not cause a fuss?

Lin Wu chuckled, called Wai over, and left, dancing the rumba with them.

Maya apologized, "I’m sorry, that’s just how he is. Please be understanding."

Sunlight sighed, "No, it’s when he’s gone that I can say this, but on this particular matter, I feel I didn’t do the right thing. I shouldn’t have intruded so much in my sister’s private life. Maybe that’s what caused their breakup."

Sunlight quickly added, "But in front of him, I won’t admit it."

Starlight changed the subject, "Uncle, what do we need to do on a daily basis?"

Stone replied, "If possible, follow Shana’s instructions. She’s the Deputy Commander of our base. Right now, the daily tasks consist of scavenging the mall and dismantling materials."

"The mall?" Sunlight and Starlight asked.

Maya explained, "Our base is now in Left County town. We’ve opened up several routes, and there are plenty of resources. We just lack manpower."

Sunlight responded, "It sounds like it’s developing well."

Stone responded without modesty, "It’s doing even better than you think."

At first, Sunlight didn’t take it seriously. Later, he came to know that Stone wasn’t exaggerating. Living at Shadow was worry-free, with plenty of gun and ammunition supplies, they even had a high-end sports car and an armored truck. Most importantly, Shadow had access to far more game information than they did. There were things like Bounty Hunters, Alliance NPCs, and Flame Fronts, things they had never heard of. Sunlight’s original base only had a generator room; they hadn’t even seen an Outpost Card.

...

Once Nightmare left, Sunlight and Starlight temporarily joined, bringing the Shadow base’s personnel up to 12. After leaving the market, Shana started organizing the supplies, transporting the Meteorological Station base’s supplies to Shadow base to trade with Little Knife, who then stored them in the warehouse. When Maya brought Starlight and Sunlight to the base, they were added to the base, and she and Lin Wu left the base to return to the Sawmill base.

Stone presented the two juniors with a pair of assault rifles. It was Mahjong Night, and today’s gambling stakes were crabs. Sunlight certainly wasn’t going to pamper Lin Wu; he definitely wouldn’t join Lin Wu’s table. To thank Shana for her care and introduction, he bound himself to her in the game. Starlight, trying to ease the mood, bound herself to Lin Wu.

The Mahjong Night joyfully proceeded, while Maya and Su Shi went to the production room to take inventory of explosives. Thanks to scavenging and the ability to create, Shadow currently had 25 kilograms of F4 explosive equivalent. Maya calculated that this amount of explosives, along with heavy artillery, would be enough to take down Blood Heart and eliminate most of the zombies inside the container fortress.

After the supplies were prepared, there were still two problems before Shadow could occupy the container fortress. The first problem was how to deliver 25 kilograms of F4 to Blood Heart and set a timer for all the bombs. This task could only be taken on by Lin Wu, as no one else, even with a determination to die, had the capability to do so.

The second problem was that after the bombardment, a large number of zombies from the nearby warehouses and residential areas would rush towards the container port. The combat personnel had to move in as quickly as possible after the artillery strike, sending some to clear the remaining zombies within the fortress while others held the south road to intercept all zombies charging at the container base.

Defending the southern sea wall road was an incredibly difficult task. The sea wall road was 6 meters wide, and was not a choke point where one man could hold off a thousand. It was not clear how many zombies would remain in the container port after the bombardment, or what types they would be. However, Maya still had a trick up her sleeve; Shadow’s warehouse had two boxes of land mines, robbed from Alliance convoys, that if used correctly, could cause massive damage to a horde of zombies and redirect the zombies towards the new noise source.

It was then time for strategic deployment, to place the most suitable people in the most suitable locations. Maya divided her personnel into three groups: the first was the clearing team, tasked with eliminating all zombies in the container fortress. The second was the defense team, charged with holding the southern sea wall road. The third was the decoy team, which would draw away as many zombies as possible at the port road.

It was a simple T-shaped road. Players would enter from the bottom of the T towards the port road, with the right half of the T’s crossbar also being port road, an area with a considerable number of zombies. The left side of the T’s crossbar was the sea wall road, with the container fortress at its end.

Maya drew a terrain map, marking it, her brows deeply furrowed. Su Shi, looking at the map for a while, reminded her, "Dividing into three groups, each group runs the risk of being wiped out entirely."

Maya nodded gravely. It was more than risky; she could not see a way to stop the zombie assault. The only chance was to bet that after a round of artillery fire, all the zombies inside the container fortress would be wiped out. That way, players could quickly occupy the container base and, using the unlimited bullets rule and taking advantage of the terrain and firepower, eliminate all the zombies.
