Chapter 402: Chapter 214 Sick_3
After recovering from illness, this incident became the greatest pain in Lin Wu’s life, one he could never entirely forget. Whenever he thought about it, he would blush with embarrassment, not only for losing face but also for feeling that he had troubled the nurses immensely.
When experience was lacking, education came into play. Lin Wu was quite certain that a Maya who would get angry over sudden physical contact was a normal Maya. What counted as body contact? That required explaining why Lin Wu said she lacked femininity: one hand had indeed been resting on her back, while the other had drifted a bit lower. Hence the conversation that included the word buttocks. However, in his words, Lin Wu insisted that what he touched was only her back.
It must be clarified that Lin Wu had no improper thoughts, and his sole intention was to provoke Maya, especially since he had been lifted hundreds of meters into the air.
As it turned out, Lin Wu was right, and so was Maya; the two didn’t need any practice to start cooperating tacitly. Eventually, Lin Wu only needed to use simple exclamations.
"Ah!" This meant something had taken Lin Wu by surprise, and he needed to pull the rope quickly.
"Hah." Let out the rope to let him enjoy the wave.
"Bite me." Meaningless.
...
A day passed, and the next morning Maya had completely recovered her health. Upon seeing this, Lin Wu shot back a complaint, "Do you think I’m illiterate? Since when does a cold get better in just a day?"
Although Little White Rabbit wasn’t visible, Maya, who understood Lin Wu very well, swiftly grabbed a wicker chair and went after him.
Little White Rabbit ignored the violent act unfolding before it and explained to Lin Wu, who was dodging and fleeing, "The game manual has already clarified that sickness symptoms will erupt in a short period... Taking into account the human body’s immune capacity and the age and physical condition of the players, the probability of death caused by basic diseases... It was ultimately decided to only simulate a simple illness."
Lin Wu lay on the ground, "What?"
Little White Rabbit repeated the explanation.
Lin Wu, who had already prepared tea, sat across from Little White Rabbit with a cup in his hand, "What?"
Maya, unable to watch idly by, said, "You think it’s tired, but in fact, it just uses a tiny bit of data to deal with you."
"I know," Lin Wu crossed his legs, "but it just feels good."
Maya asked, "Suppose your complaint is effective and Dawn extends my sickness to seven days, what then?"
"I’m an honest person; I can’t indulge you just because you’re my friend," Lin Wu added, "Compared to your being sick for seven days, I’d rather see that thing take a defeat."
Maya understood that Lin Wu was looking for any reason or possibility to file complaints against Dawn. There was only one goal, and that was to beat Dawn. The process didn’t matter. So when Lin Wu learned that a cold didn’t require seven days to heal, he didn’t hesitate to complain.
Lin Wu said, "Dawn, you talk about considering the players’ immune abilities, but why didn’t you consider the players’ ability to stop bleeding?"
Little White Rabbit replied, "Recently, many players have raised similar concerns, and we are pleased that players wish to experience more realistic simulations of human injury and bleeding. Hence, we will introduce these experiences in our next update, aside from reducing pain."
Lin Wu argued, "That’s not right. According to survivorship bias, only the people who speak up think it’s inappropriate—they’re just a small fraction of the player base. How can you change the rules that the majority abide by just because of a small group?"
Little White Rabbit answered, "In my programming, I focus more on those who raise their voices than those who remain silent. After the update, if a large number of players oppose it, I will naturally cancel the changes made in this update."
Lin Wu pressed, "One last question, what’s the difference between Resource Beach and Leisure Beach?"
"The content within the game needs to be experienced by the players themselves."
"Goodbye."
"Goodbye."
