The good news was that after creating the aerial corridor, Su Shi had made a safety rope that was recognized by the system as usable. This reduced Lin Wu’s workload, but it was still not easy.

Lin Wu said, "Then shall we do it?"

Maya nodded, "We must secure Combat Medicine." Everyone had been hesitant about which advanced skill book to buy, but it was clear that Combat Medicine was a necessity. Combat Medicine allowed for remote treatment, a life-saving skill. Survival always came first. To secure Combat Medicine, at least 8 currency units were needed, with one Serum worth 0.1 units, so 80 Serums were required. Emerald Feather was easygoing; she didn’t find going out on missions too tiring, nor particularly enjoyable, and staying at the base was also a good option for her. She was willing to stay and help heal the wounded. If Lin Wu had been the doctor, it was likely that people would have died from blood loss due to not finding the doctor.

Stone became the temporary guardian of Wai, joining Lin Ma, who carried the two safety ropes made by Su Shi, under the electric tower. After putting on the safety rope and bidding farewell to Stone and petting the dog, Lin Ma began to climb the tower.

Lin Wu hooked the safety catch onto the power line and started to climb with a rope. When his strength was exhausted, he would let go and dangle from the safety rope. After recovering his strength, he would continue onward.

After tightening the rope, Lin Wu would hang from the safety rope, wrap his arms around the power line to increase friction, and use a lot of stamina to drag Maya over, resting twice during the process. Maya considered climbing too, but lacking Agility, she didn’t get far before giving in.

It took 15 minutes for the two of them to cover the 200-meter distance between the towers. The first three towers went very smoothly, everything proceeding in an orderly fashion. But the fourth tower lay in the Blood Mist area, and just after climbing up more than ten meters, a warning came through the headset from Maya, "Frenzy, a Frenzy sent by Blood Heart." A Frenzy was the only zombie capable of climbing; it would not scale a ninety-degree ladder, but it could climb electric towers with a certain slant. However, as a zombie, it lacked the ability to create and use tools, so after climbing the fifth tower, it could only pace back and forth on top of the tower.

Blood Ferocious was a valuable find, but not in this situation. The consequences of using a Wind Stinger while attached to a safety rope were unthinkable. Using a gun could certainly kill Blood Ferocious, but Lin Wu desired the body of Blood Ferocious—once dead, its body would most likely fall beneath the tower, leaving no chance for Corpse Looting.

After assessing the situation, Lin Wu dragged Maya forward. Approaching the fifth tower, another Blood Ferocious appeared. The two Blood Ferocious beasts patrolled the connecting line of the tower, occasionally glancing at Lin Wu some 8 meters away.

Lin Wu continued to move forward. As he got closer, the Frenzy became increasingly excited and agitated. At about 3 meters away from the Frenzy, Lin Wu stopped and beckoned it with a finger, "Come on over."

One Frenzy tried to climb over, took a step, slipped on the power line, but luckily managed to hook its foot onto the tower and climb back up.

Lin Wu pulled Maya over, and she asked, "Reluctant to take action?"
