Chapter 326: Chapter 186 Squatting Kill_2

Why wouldn’t you betray each other? Of course, you couldn’t. You didn’t get any points for killing someone, and after they resurrected, they’d definitely seek revenge. In the end, you wouldn’t earn any points, instead continually losing them.

...

Cooperation officially began. Under the leadership of Player Maya and Peanut, Hunting Evil Nightmare began to hunt down all humans in the city, prioritizing players with the ability to resist. As long as they could crush the grouped players, the remaining ants were of no concern.

Lin Wu was the only righteous person in the gang, aiming to take down the player fortresses of Hunters. Guided by the map and the Nightmare, he made his way successfully to the Hunters’ resurrection point.

The resurrection point was a hall over 100 square meters, surrounded by a variety of priced food. A bun cost one point, a loaf of bread two. The most expensive were caviar and truffles. Although unappetizing, they were priced at a staggering 800 points.

Inside the hall was a long dining table covered with candles and fruits, all of which were free. Behind the table was a circular pool about 15 square meters. Lin Wu was familiar with the pool, a Resurrection Spring constructed by the Shadow base where the resurrected would slowly rise from its depths.

The water was 50 centimeters deep. Lin Wu pulled up a chair and a bunch of grapes, sitting in the water. His left hand held a dagger, his right hand eating grapes. Where did he put the grapes? Naturally, in a bowl, which was then held by Wai in its mouth. Wai showed neither pleasure nor displeasure with this task, so Lin Wu assumed it enjoyed it. After all, what dog doesn’t like to fetch?

The first unlucky soul was a Hunter who hadn’t yet met his fate. Within 3 seconds of his head emerging from the water, Lin Wu stabbed him 10 times, 7 of which landed after he was already dead. According to the rules, players holding a Gold Card and Resurrection Card would resurrect 10 minutes after death. Lin Wu looted the corpse and found some bullets. He sat back down, crossed his legs, signaled Wai to lift the bowl higher, and reached for a grape.

The second unfortunate one was Blood Meng, who needed 5 seconds to resurrect. Just as she came back to life, she saw Lin Wu holding a sinister-looking dagger, which scared her witless, "Brother, please don’t..." Corpse Looting, not bad, a hundred bullets.

Why didn’t he find any rifles? Nightmare’s explanation was that equipment brought into the instance from the game wouldn’t be lost upon death. Why were they so rich in the beginning to buy all sorts of items? There were two reasons: one was the weapons and supplies brought from the game into the instance. The other was the special agent points used for purchases within the game. Conversely, the points they earned in the instance could be converted into game points. Points earned by players in the instance could only be exchanged for prizes.

Players had their activities, and special agents had their own. The second expedition ingeniously combined both.

"Let’s talk this out, I can agree to anything..." Ten minutes later, Blood Meng was automatically resurrected and killed for the second time. Lin Wu, having finished the job, felt a little guilty. What if Blood Meng had another Resurrection Card, how could he bring himself to attack again?

To address this, Lin Wu pulled a mask over his face so she wouldn’t recognize it was him. Ten minutes later, Lin Wu realized his actions were completely unnecessary because Blood Meng did not resurrect again.

But Nightmare hadn’t been entirely truthful, whether by intentional omission or a mere oversight. The resurrection point for NPC Hunters wasn’t the Resurrection Spring, but a supply point marked by a red X. In principle, NPCs shouldn’t have come to the Resurrection Spring, whether it was because Dawn was jealous of Lin Wu or because they were hungry. Regardless, an NPC suddenly appeared at the hall entrance.

Had it been a player who encountered Lin Wu, they might have hesitated for a second, but NPCs didn’t. They instantly identified Lin Wu as an enemy and drew their guns. Lin Wu was quick to react. The tables and chairs prevented a direct charge, so he had to use two Wind Stingers to dodge the bullets, seeking cover behind a side barricade.

Without a command from its master, Wai dropped the grapes and lunged at the NPC. When the NPC turned to deal with Wai, Lin Wu, seizing the moment, used a pistol to shoot the NPC in the head multiple times, killing him. Turning to look at Wai, he found it lying in a pool of blood with a bullet hole in it. Strange, Wai had bitten the NPC’s wrist, and the NPC hadn’t fired, so why was there a bullet hole in Wai’s body?

Did I do that? Impossible, Wai would certainly have avoided any bullet he fired.

Now wasn’t the time for questions. Lin Wu pulled Wai into the Resurrection Spring, using the Hunting Dog skill to treat Wai’s injuries. The skill drained stamina, but fortunately, Lin Wu had nothing else to do. Healing light enveloped Wai, and after 3 minutes, Wai’s wound healed, and it stood to lick Lin Wu’s hand in gratitude.

Just to be safe, Lin Wu set up Beast Traps at the entrance of the hall and covered them with dirt. After that, he returned to his Spring Throne to continue picking off the Hunters and eating grapes. As for Wai, now that it wasn’t dead, it continued to hold the bowl in servitude. However, after this dangerous incident, Lin Wu resolved to treat Wai better, deciding to name it Reverent Wai in its next life in honor of its service.

Lin Wu tried to communicate with Nightmare and the others, but due to the distance and being underground—or perhaps some interference—he could barely hear a sound, so he gave up. Soon after, an unlucky NPC trod on a Beast Trap and fell face-first onto it, struggling to free itself and raising a hand against the trap. Lin Wu dispatched him and then looked proudly at the traps he had set, unintentionally in a triple sequence. Although he hadn’t planned a three-peat, the outcome proved he had done well.

After soaking for a while in the Resurrection Spring and playing in the water with Wai, he walked around the area. Finally, after a long two hours, a new prey appeared. Nightmare, true to its name, faced his fate stoically, not begging for mercy like Blood Meng, silently watching Lin Wu stab him to death.
