Chapter 320: Chapter 183 Hunting Feast_3

After parting ways with Golden Hair, they entered the tunnel and soon discovered that the tunnel branched off in all directions. Shana suggested going back, but they hadn’t anticipated a zombie onslaught. Due to their limited lighting, they were forced to fight on their own. Once safe, Peanut realized he had lost track of his companions and had no idea where he was.

So, he had no choice but to continue walking through the tunnel with just a bit of light from his flashlight. The tunnel, more like a large underground air-raid shelter, was riddled with numerous intersections; fortunately, he didn’t encounter too many zombies and managed to proceed relatively smoothly. Last night, he had slept for a few hours in the tunnel and continued wandering aimlessly today until he finally emerged from the tunnel in the evening. According to the map, he had reached the supply point, but he had missed the free food distribution. Luckily, fate was kind, and he ran into Lin Wu and Maya.

Lin Wu bought some food for Peanut, then climbed up to the rooftop and let down a rope, allowing everyone to climb up to the roof. The roof was steep and made of a slippery material, which made everyone lean and recline at an angle, their hearts racing with fear that they might slip and fall down to the first floor.

After Peanut finished his story, the mist happened to invade the library; the mist, spanning one square kilometer, enveloped the library and the surrounding area.

Zombies in the mist launched attacks from all directions, while the players used the terrain to band together and fight back. Due to the fog invasion, players in the guest rooms and free rooms were forcibly evicted, and their skills and weapons were unlocked. The number of players in the library reached over seven thousand, the space nearly packed to capacity. They used the angle of the stairs to hold off the zombies in the front while those at a higher vantage point in the back used various weapons to attack the zombies.

Bullets? No problem, killing a zombie earned 1 point, and 1 point could be exchanged for one pistol bullet. As long as they didn’t miss, in theory, they could never run out of bullets.

The situation was similar to that of a mining site; assuming there were no traitors among the human players, humans had a certain advantage against the zombies. However, there were indeed traitors within the human ranks. Just as the players united to counter the mist zombies, five abandoned backpacks exploded inside the library, causing death and injury among the players in an instant, while the zombies took advantage of the chaos to break through the players’ stair defense and merge into the fray.

"Alright,"

a voice came from the southeast corner of the library, Lin Wu glanced at Maya and made use of his Agility to scale the slope. The whole library had a structure similar to the ancient Chinese triangular tile roofing, but the material wasn’t tiles, it was smooth resin tiles. When Lin Wu reached the central ridge, the first thing he saw was Blood Meng. Blood Meng stood on the raised edge of the southeast corner of the roof, reaching out to pull someone up.

Lin Wu made a split-second decision, shooting Blood Meng’s fingers off. The person screamed as they plummeted down, instantly devoured by the zombies on the first floor. Blood Meng whipped her head around and Lin Wu’s Silencer blew away her forehead guard. With smooth surfaces all around and no cover to hide behind, she had nowhere to dodge. Blood Meng picked up a rifle and sprayed bullets in a fit of rage, but she didn’t see Lin Wu 40 meters away, and her furious gunfire didn’t harm Lin Wu in the slightest.

Another bullet left Blood Meng critically wounded, to which she angrily said, "Lin Wu, calling you brother was a waste of time."

"I’m not Lin Wu, I’m Soy Sauce." Another shot took down Blood Meng.

Not only did Lin Wu take out Blood Meng, but he also cut off the escape for several other Hunters. Zombies rushed towards them, and with no way to escape to the skies, they could only accept their fate of being devoured.

Being at a great distance, Lin Wu couldn’t loot the bodies. However, the system was generous and awarded Lin Wu the points for the Hunters who fell to their deaths. Lin Wu made a tidy sum of four hundred points just by making the rounds.

"400 points," Lin Wu muttered, lying atop the roof ridge to Maya, who was reclining at an angle below him.

Maya was somewhat annoyed, "These people really deserved to die. Without them, just five hundred players could have withstood the zombies’ frontal assault."

Peanut tried to offer some consolation, "It’s just a game, their task is to kill players, and ours is to kill them."

Starfire strongly agreed with Peanut’s perspective, "It’s not worth getting angry over."

Maya nodded, not frustrated with these people’s intentions, but rather despising their actions.
