Chapter 243: Chapter 153: Welcome_2

It turned out that, ten days ago, Invincible Base had emulated Shadow Base by having Peanut and Emerald Feather establish a sub-base. However, the reason behind Shadow Base creating a sub-base was due to stockpile and in preparation to advance into Left County. After hearing this, Lin Wu felt that having Peanut and Emerald Feather set up a base was purely an act of exile.

All of this stemmed from considerations of Invincible Base’s strategic position.

Shadow Base had strategic plans to move into Left County, an idea also presented by Invincible Base during their strategic meeting. However, they lacked information and strength, and after witnessing the patrolling zombie tides, they retreated from that plan. They then proposed the idea of building a beautiful home with Invincible Base at its center at the strategic meeting.

Currently, Fishing was the main source of food for Invincible Base, and Peanut had proposed the idea of developing agriculture which gained the support of some people. As for how to develop agriculture, it was about establishing a sub-base for agricultural cultivation. Currently, Invincible Base had a total of two agricultural skill players, and due to the lack of electricity and fertilizers, the yield from farming was low.

During the meeting, Logistics raised a concern on behalf of Fishing players, inquiring whether Peanut’s plan considered cuts to the number of Fishing players. Peanut’s answer was affirmative, for they would not need as many Fishing players after agriculture took off. Invincible denied this, stating that everyone was brothers and sisters, and that the development of agriculture was due to food demands, with Fishing being an effective means of obtaining food. He would not easily dismiss anyone.

In the end, Peanut, Emerald Feather, and an agricultural player named Flight went to the gas station to establish a sub-base, mainly for farming. Raccoon Cat, due to good relations with Peanut, initially planned to follow, but for various reasons, such as bed space, ended up staying at the main base temporarily.

For the sub-base, even though two farmlands were opened, the yield wasn’t high due to lack of electricity and fertilizer. To increase the grain yield, the three of them had to carry water every day, which caused them some grievances. After all, the labor of 10 people carrying water was completely different from that of 3. The day before yesterday, Invincible Base communicated with the sub-base, hoping to even out some food to the main base, but the request was rejected by the sub-base.

As Raccoon Cat explained, "It’s all because of the system reform. Fishing players now need to actually catch fish to count as obtaining food. Plus, there were a few days without sunlight, preventing everyone from going out, which drastically reduced food income."

Raccoon Cat was also an agricultural Life Skills player who, like Tangtang, a former member of Shadow Base, had studied horticulture. However, the Invincible Base site was too small to allocate land, so Raccoon Cat might soon be assigned to a new Invincible sub-base in the near future.

Raccoon Cat, along with Little Knife, went to the gas station. Along the way, Raccoon Cat mentioned something else — at the strategic meeting, Invincible had suggested encouraging marriage. While he didn’t see eye to eye with Peanut afterward, a player who got along with Emerald Feather approached her for marriage and was rejected.

This person spoke ill of Emerald Feather in private conversations, not appreciating her choice, which led to a conflict with one of Emerald Feather’s friends. The argument escalated from verbal insults to fistfights to drawing guns and shooting at each other, resulting in Emerald Feather’s friend’s death.

Since Emerald Feather’s friend was the first to draw a weapon, Invincible only issued a warning to the other person. Peanut made no comment on this decision, stating that he, along with Flight, intended to take Emerald Feather to the gas station to start a sub-base. The day after Peanut and the others established the sub-base, the player who killed Emerald Feather’s friend took over Peanut’s duties and became the Deputy Commander of Invincible Base.

Raccoon Cat said, "This might be part of Invincible’s strategy, he puts more emphasis on Survival than on combat."

Lin Wu paid no attention to these gossips; he and Shana lagged behind, with Lin Wu handing over the weapons and Skill Book to Shana.

Shana hesitated with the Gale Combo Skill Book in her hand, "Will I die again?"

Lin Wu replied honestly, "There’s a possibility."

Shana pleaded pitifully, "I don’t want to die again."

Lin Wu asked, "Haven’t you gotten used to it yet?"

Shana snapped angrily, "There’s no way I could get used to it, OK?"

Lin Wu sighed, "I wouldn’t know, since I’ve never died."

Upon hearing this, Shana got so angry that she jumped up and bumped Lin Wu over with her body. Seeing Lin Wu struggle to stand up, a satisfied Shana helped him up, asking, "Did I learn it?"

"Go ahead and learn," Lin Wu said, "I wasn’t counting on you being much help anyway."

Shana remarked, "Sometimes you could just say half of what you think."

Lin Wu chuckled and asked, "What’s the Resurrection Dark House like this time?"

Shana gave Lin Wu a white look, but seriously answered, "There is a black and white TV and some pastries now, and the bed has been upgraded to a big one."

Lin Wu nodded, "Not bad, it means your points have increased quite a bit."

Shana wondered, "I’m curious what kind of treatment you would get."

Lin Wu sighed, "I want to know too."

Shana was speechless, holding her forehead, "Hey, my sewing’s gone."

Lin Wu responded, "We haven’t discussed this issue on the way here."

Shana questioned, "Everyone must be pretty disappointed, right?"

Lin Wu replied, "No kidding. But no one said anything, and they came out in such a big way to welcome you, which says a lot about their attitude." Lin Wu didn’t mention the real reason why all of Shadow Base came to pick up Shana; after all, someone who had just spent 24 hours in a small dark cell needed some consolation.

The team at the front, led by Raccoon Cat, stopped and turned back to look at everyone, "The gas station base is up ahead."

...

Peanut had not received any notice, and upon seeing Maya and the others, ran out frantically with Emerald Feather to welcome them. From their expressions, it seemed something had happened at the base. Raccoon Cat looked around and asked, "Where’s Flight?"
