Chapter 217: Chapter 143: A Way Out_3
...
After passing the Sentry Card, Maya led her team on a skiing trip to Nightmare Base alongside Lin Sha. As they got out in the open, the skiing abilities of the six individuals were immediately evident. Maya skied well, and Shana skied beautifully. The former didn’t waste any energy and was very fast, while the latter skied smoothly and elegantly, greatly igniting everyone’s passion for skiing. Aside from Maya and Shana, the other four were novices, with Lin Wu being the best due to one-on-one coaching. Little Knife had little interest in skiing, and so she was the worst.
"Shana, I’ve got an idea," Lin Wu said as he pulled out a rope to make a lasso. Shana at the front took out her SC. Lin Wu put away the rope, "The weather is nice today."
Shana continued to advance with Maya, who asked, "Are you sure you want to go down the throwing route?"
Shana looked somewhat troubled, "I don’t know. But at this stage, and even for quite a while, we won’t be able to afford firearms." Guns were not the problem; it was the bullets.
Maya spoke, "Let’s see what the situation is like at Nightmare first."
From behind, Lin Wu shouted, "Direction 11 o’clock."
As everyone approached Nightmare Base and stopped outside the safety zone, Lin Wu yelled loudly, "People inside, listen up, you’re surrounded by us. Take off your clothes and surrender immediately, or else we will..."
Everyone looked at Lin Wu, who suddenly felt guilty, "Or else we won’t let you take off your clothes."
Nightmare was quite bold; with all Shadow Combat Personnel deployed, she still came out the front entrance to meet Maya, "That outfit looks pretty cool."
Lin Wu, feeling ignored, protested, "Your wife is here."
Nightmare saw Shana, expressionless. Annoyed, Lin Wu put his hand on Shana’s shoulder, "Your wife."
Nightmare said, "Please come inside."
As Lin Wu reluctantly followed, Nightmare turned and fired her shotgun into the snow pile in front of Lin Wu and the others, "I didn’t invite you."
Maya was there to ask for help and said, "You guys wait outside."
Lin Wu was furious, "Damn it, I’m gonna kill your wife."
Shana gently smacked Lin Wu on the head, whispering, "We’re here to ask for a favor. Be polite."
Lin Wu whispered back, "It was Maya who told me to be rough." How would you know Maya’s a good person if there are no bad guys around?
Shana seemed thoughtful but didn’t say anything, "I don’t like you making jokes about my relationship with Nightmare."
Lin Wu apologized, "Sorry, it won’t happen again."
Horse Soul waved from twenty meters away. They all had Bluetooth headsets, but they couldn’t communicate between different bases. Lin Wu and Shana joined Horse Soul, and Shana asked, "What happened?"
Horse Soul replied, "There are mysterious footprints; I guess it’s a Solar Demon." Around ten o’clock, about fifteen meters from Horse Soul, footprints appeared, and at his two o’clock in the snow, more footprints surfaced. Footprints from both sides were slowly converging on Horse Soul, matching the Solar Demon’s normal movement speed.
Lin Wu launched a drone to confirm, "There are six red dots around us. That’s right, we’ve been surrounded by Solar Demons. Little Knife, there’s one five meters from you at twelve o’clock. One hasn’t moved at all behind a tree at six o’clock near Ma."
Snow Egg took out a big iron shovel, "It seems they want lunch."
Lin Wu said, "Then let’s turn it into our lunch."
Once they had them located, the fight began. Poor Solar Demons, slow and clueless on how to hide their tracks in the snow, were hammered by a few people with clubs and sticks.
What frightened Lin Wu was Little Knife. Dressed in her pink dress, Little Knife stomped a Solar Demon to death, the burst not camouflaged but splattering everywhere. Lin Wu even thought of how Little Knife’s legs must have been covered in liquids of various colors.
Feeling something was off after stepping down, Little Knife turned back to everyone, who stood there frozen, and said in a low voice, "It’s still warm."
A convulsion ran through everyone’s stomach.
Snow Egg immediately tried to ease the situation, "It’s fine, it’s fine, it’ll be washed off in a moment."
The rest agreed, echoing the sentiment. Such a matter was too embarrassing, and as all were decent people, it was best left undiscussed.
