Chapter 195: Chapter 134 Waste City (Eight)_2

Lin Wu praised, "True to being a talent from Fortress Company, a big move whenever you act."

Sunlight looked at Starlight, and Starlight shook his head, "I can’t tell if he’s praising you or not."

Maya asked, "How long will it burn?"

Sunlight replied, "Three hours should be enough to burn a path through."

Maya nodded, "Good."

Lin Wu objected, "Do you really think Dawn will just sit by and watch you destroy Waste City? Dawn made it clear that this is the first expedition to the large instance of Waste City, which means there will be a second time. What about the slum next time we come? Will it remain in the state you burned it, or will a new slum spawn?"

"Aren’t you overthinking it?" Sunlight said, "Everyone, retreat to the main road."

Before long, Yellow Hair and Starlight lit flames on both sides of the alley using broken furniture. As Sunlight said, the fire spread very quickly. Soon, two houses were belching black smoke, with flames flailing wildly, engulfing the entire houses and rapidly spreading to the surroundings.

Suddenly, the sky that had been clear became overcast with dark clouds, and a torrential downpour ensued, quickly subduing the fire. Lin Wu laughed uproariously at the sky, "Ha-ha, Dawn, I really get you."

Sunlight stood shocked in place for a long while, unable to recover. He originally thought Lin Wu was spouting nonsense, yet somehow, that nonsense hit the nail on the head.

Dawn: Playing a game is just playing a game, what’s with setting fires? Can’t handle the game?

Players facing a castle inhabited by a big boss, dig under someone’s home instead of attacking from the front, what kind of heroism is that?

But Dawn would never admit that it rained to stop the fire. It would claim it’s simply simulating a real scenario where it just happened to rain heavily, and you all just happened to be there.

Sunlight: "Damn Dawn."

Lin Wu chimed in, "We’re on the same page there."

Sunlight, with a dark expression, looked at the completely extinguished fire. How are we supposed to play now?

Maya whispered a few words to Lin Wu, and after releasing a drone Lin Wu replied to Maya. Maya then called everyone together, "The only way is to go across the rooftops."

"Rooftops?"

Maya explained, "The slum buildings are packed together like a beehive. Just now, Lin Wu checked the route; we can definitely reach near the white villa by using the rooftops."

Sunlight asked, "What about the zombies?"

Maya responded, "That’s where we have an advantage. If we stand on the rooftop of Building A, zombies from all around, including those from Building B, will head toward Building A. Meanwhile, we will have moved to Building B."

Sunlight said, "The zombies will relentlessly pursue us."

Maya elaborated, "Earlier, I mentioned we could reach near the white villa using the rooftops with two items: two planks or doors or the like to bridge gaps. Every few buildings, there’s a main road that separates them."

Maya continued, "As we draw the surrounding zombies to rooftops A, B, and C to chase us, we’ll cross over to Building D using planks, then withdraw the planks behind us. The zombies from A, B, and C can then only pursue us from the ground. With well-coordinated teamwork, we can shake them off."

"Two planks. Lin Wu and Fire Dance will cover the bridgeheads, while I and Yellow Hair alternate with the planks. Sunlight, you and Starlight, with your submachine guns, need to stay alert for zombies that might not be decoyed away and could rush to the rooftop from inside the building," Maya laid out their roles.

After Maya finished, they began to practice the coordination.

She led with Plank A, clearing the path with her crossbow. At the gap, she quickly set up the bridge and covered the others as they escaped to the other side. Starlight and Sunlight were responsible for eliminating any zombies that might emerge on the rooftops of the surrounding buildings. Meanwhile, Yellow Hair, carrying Plank B, headed to the next gap. Lin Wu and Fire Dance stayed by Maya’s side. After she removed the plank, Lin Wu and Fire Dance tried to attract the attention of zombies across the gap while they waited for Yellow Hair to lay down the plank. During this, Starfire and Sunlight had to cover Lin Wu and Fire Dance’s retreat.

If the plan went smoothly, they could rapidly reach the vicinity of the white villa through this relay method.

The key was that once they began, they couldn’t stop – everyone had to act quickly.

After practicing, everyone fell back to the main road and entered the buildings to search for props longer than three meters. It wasn’t very smooth, and in the end, they didn’t find flat planks but instead found two 4-meter-long cylindrical wooden poles. Yes, what they found were telephone poles, cut in half by a machete.

Maya added, "No matter who it is, if someone falls, they’re on their own. Sunlight will fill in first, followed by Starlight."

Sunlight had just one question, "How can someone so outstanding like you end up mixed up with him?"

Without a moment’s delay, Lin Wu kicked out, Sunlight sneered as Wind Stinger bypassed his forehand, Lin Wu then slapped Sunlight on the back of his head. Sunlight, enraged, rolled up his sleeves, preparing to intercept Wind Stinger, and the two collided, each wrapping an arm around the other, trading blows. It was a complete display of professional boxing. To be thoroughly professional, Lin Wu bit down on Sunlight’s ear.

They were separated by the crowd; Sunlight angrily wrapped a bandage while demanding, "What are you, Tyson?"

Lin Wu smirked darkly, "I’m Luis Suárez." Tyson biting an ear made news, Suárez biting an ear was a habit. Provoke me, Luis Suárez, and even in the World Cup, you’ll lose an ear.

"Enough," Maya interjected, "Rest for ten minutes to heal and eat." She dragged Lin Wu five meters away, thoroughly separating the two men.

...

The battle began, and like the rehearsal, the rigid data of the zombies was clearly calculated by Maya. The six worked together seamlessly, swiftly moving through the slum. In team combat, Lin Wu’s presence became rather meek, and his lack of firepower drastically reduced his effectiveness.
